Roco Kingdom’s trailer confirms that throwing a sphere is part of capturing wild creatures, but it does not publish the button, stick, mouse or touch controls. It also does not establish a reticle, trajectory guide, release meter, timing window or capture percentage. You can prepare intelligently by weakening a target, choosing an appropriate ball and approaching from behind when possible, but the exact throw input and timing rules still need official confirmation.
What the trailer actually shows
The Ball Throwing trailer depicts the player throwing a sphere at wild creatures during an encounter. Some throws are followed by a capture effect; another scene shows a throw being rejected or returned. That establishes the broad loop—encounter a creature, throw a ball and possibly capture it—but not the detailed control model behind the animation.

The footage is consistent with a mechanic in which positioning and the moment of the throw matter. It does not prove whether a player aims with a reticle, points a character, adjusts a projected arc, holds and releases a button, or uses an entirely different interaction. A cinematic throw can also hide input assistance that is not visible in the final game.

The official-facing description presents Roco Kingdom as “A NEW EVOLUTION OF OPEN-WORLD CREATURE-COLLECTING GAMES.” That marketing language describes the setting and genre, not a published control scheme.

Controls: what is known and what is not
| Question | Current status | What to do with that information |
|---|---|---|
| Which button starts a throw? | Not established | Do not rely on a controller-button guide until the developer publishes platform-specific instructions. |
| How is the ball aimed? | Not established | Look for an on-screen reticle, projected path or camera-facing prompt when the game is available. |
| Is there a charge or release meter? | Not established | Do not assume that holding a button longer changes distance or accuracy. |
| Is motion, a mouse gesture or a touch swipe required? | Not established | Input may vary by platform; trailer footage does not resolve it. |
| Is there a fixed timing window? | Not established | Use the creature’s behavior and any in-game feedback rather than a frame-perfect schedule. |
| What happens to a missed ball? | Not established | Conserve throws until the inventory and miss rules are shown in-game. |
Because none of these details is documented in the available authoritative material, a list of specific buttons or stick motions would be speculation. The same applies to claims that a particular release frame guarantees a capture.
A safe preparation routine before throwing
Community guides suggest a preparation sequence, but these are recommendations rather than verified formulas. They are useful as a starting experiment when you have access to the game, not as guaranteed instructions.
- Identify the target and its context. Note the creature’s apparent rarity or attributes, the surrounding weather, whether the encounter is in a dungeon, and whether the target is asleep. Community references associate those conditions with different ball choices, although the game has not publicly documented the exact bonuses.
- Reduce the wild spirit’s HP. Guides generally advise weakening a target before throwing. Lower HP may make a capture more favorable, but no reliable percentage, threshold or damage formula has been published. Stop attacking before you risk defeating the creature.
- Choose a ball deliberately. Select a ball that appears to match the target’s rarity or attributes. Conditional balls are also listed by community sources for weather, dungeon situations and sleeping targets. Treat those descriptions as provisional until the game itself explains the requirements and effects.
- Improve your position. Begin the encounter from behind when the environment allows it. A rear approach may provide a tactical advantage, but the footage does not establish whether it changes capture probability, gives a surprise state or merely starts combat safely.
- Wait for the game’s throw prompt. Since the input method is unpublished, follow the prompt, reticle or interaction icon presented by your build instead of a generic controller chart. Record what the prompt does before spending valuable balls.
How to think about aiming when the input is undocumented
Aiming has two separate parts: deciding where the ball should travel and learning how the game translates your input into that path. The trailer confirms the first goal—placing a sphere toward a wild creature—but not the second part.

Use the target’s body, not its nameplate
When a target is moving, aim at the creature’s current body position and observe whether the game leads the throw automatically. A nameplate, lock-on marker or health bar may sit above the model and may not be the actual collision point. Do not assume that the center of the screen equals the impact point until the interface demonstrates it.
Watch for trajectory feedback
Some capture games show a reticle, dotted arc, landing circle or line that changes with distance. None of those features has been confirmed for Roco Kingdom. If your build provides one, use it to learn how elevation and distance affect the throw. If it does not, make short, low-risk tests on common targets rather than spending rare balls while guessing.
Account for movement and camera position
A moving creature can leave the location you selected between input and impact. Stand at a distance that gives you time to observe its movement, and avoid throwing while the camera is turning or the target is obscured. This is practical positioning advice, not evidence of a hidden accuracy stat.

Do not infer a power curve without testing
A longer button hold may control power in some games, while in others it does nothing or simply delays the throw. Until Roco Kingdom displays a charge indicator or documents the behavior, test different holds only with ordinary balls and easy targets. Record whether distance, arc or speed actually changes.
Timing: what “wait for the right moment” can and cannot mean
The available footage shows both a failed or returned throw and successful capture effects, so timing may matter in practice. It does not reveal a numerical timing window or a repeatable animation cue. Claims such as “release on the third flash” or “throw within a specific number of frames” are unsupported.
Use observable states
When playing, look for concrete signals: a throw prompt becoming active, a creature entering a visible idle or sleep state, a change in the target’s movement, or an on-screen message that confirms a vulnerable condition. These signals can help you build a personal routine without pretending that an unconfirmed window is universal.

Separate encounter timing from release timing
There are at least two possible timing decisions. You may choose when to begin the encounter—for example, from behind or while the target is asleep—and you may choose when to release the ball after the throw interface appears. Community advice addresses the first decision more clearly than the second. No source establishes that a particular release moment increases the odds.
Practice with controlled variables
If throws are limited, change one factor at a time. Use the same ball against similar targets, keep your distance consistent, and note whether the target was weakened, approached from behind or affected by weather. This will help you distinguish a genuine mechanic from random variation, especially because no tested success-rate figure is available.

Community references describe balls associated with rarity or attributes and list conditional options connected to weather, dungeon context and sleep. Those categories are useful for organizing your inventory, but they should not be treated as an official effectiveness table.

| Situation mentioned by community guides | Provisional action | What remains unknown |
|---|---|---|
| Target appears rare | Consider a ball intended for higher rarity. | The rarity categories, bonus size and availability are not documented. |
| Target has a notable attribute | Check whether an attribute-matching ball is available. | The qualifying attributes and whether the match is mandatory or merely favorable are unconfirmed. |
| Specific weather is active | Review any weather-linked ball description before throwing. | The supported weather states and capture modifier are not established. |
| Encounter occurs in a dungeon | Look for a dungeon-context ball if the game offers one. | It is unknown whether the effect applies to every dungeon or only certain areas. |
| Creature is asleep | Consider a sleep-related ball or wait for the sleep state to be displayed. | The duration, trigger and numerical benefit are unconfirmed. |
Do not spend a rare ball solely because a community list names a matching condition. Verify the item description, required context and any warning about consumption in your own build.
What to do after a rejected or returned throw
The trailer includes a throw that appears to be rejected or returned, but it does not explain why. Several explanations are possible: the ball may have missed, the target may have resisted, the item may not have met a condition, or the scene may represent a scripted event. Treat the animation as a signal to investigate, not proof of one failure rule.
- Check the battle message or log. If the game identifies a miss, resistance or invalid ball, use that wording to guide the next attempt.
- Confirm the target’s state. Recheck HP, sleep, attributes and any environmental condition before using another ball.
- Move to a clearer position. Remove terrain, foliage or camera obstructions that could hide the target or the throw indicator.
- Test with a lower-value ball. If the inventory permits, use a common ball to learn the input and trajectory before committing a scarce item.
- Stop if the target is at risk. Further attacks can defeat a weakened creature, and no published guide provides a safe HP threshold.
Platform and version cautions
Roco Kingdom is presented in a testing or pre-release context. Controls, ball effects, interface prompts and encounter rules can change before launch or between test builds. A control discovered in one build should therefore be labeled with its platform and version rather than presented as a permanent rule.

When official documentation becomes available, the useful details to verify are the platform input method, reticle or trajectory feedback, release window, ball conditions, inventory consumption and the behavior of a miss. Those facts will turn the current preparation advice into a reproducible procedure.
Quick checklist for your first capture attempt
- Confirm that the game has enabled the throw interaction.
- Approach from behind when terrain and creature behavior make that possible.
- Reduce HP without risking a knockout.
- Read the ball description and match rarity, attributes or stated conditions.
- Look for the actual prompt or aiming feedback in your build.
- Throw only after the target is visible and your camera is stable.
- After a rejection, read the game’s message before repeating the same action.
- Record the platform and build number if you are comparing advice with other players.
The reliable conclusion is limited but useful: ball throwing is part of Roco Kingdom’s capture loop, while the exact controls, aiming model, timing window and success rate remain undocumented. Prepare the target and the ball, then let the game’s own prompt and feedback—not an invented button map—define the throw.
