SpaceX completed three launches and four booster landings in less than 13 hours, while Rocket Lab signed a 20-mission Electron agreement with Japanese radar-imaging company Synspective. Ars Technica’s October 2, 2026 Rocket Report also says Starship reached low-Earth orbit on its 14th flight and Blue Origin asked the FAA to allow up to 50 New Glenn launches a year.
How did SpaceX complete three launches in less than 13 hours?
The launch sequence began in Florida with Crew-13 on a Falcon 9. A Falcon 9 rideshare mission then launched from Vandenberg, California, followed by a classified National Reconnaissance Office mission on a Falcon Heavy from Florida. Ars Technica reports that both Falcon 9 boosters and both Falcon Heavy side boosters landed, for four recoveries across the three launches.

The classified payload limits what can be said about the Falcon Heavy mission’s purpose or spacecraft. The Crew-13 launch also marked a milestone for its commander: Jessica Watkins became the first Black woman to lead a mission into space.
What does Rocket Lab’s Synspective contract cover?
Rocket Lab and Synspective signed an agreement for 20 Electron missions. The deal brings Synspective’s total Rocket Lab bookings to 47, of which 13 had already flown, according to the October 2 report. Synspective operates radar-imaging satellites, making this a customer-specific launch agreement rather than a general announcement of Electron capacity.

- SAFETY FIRST, FUN ALWAYS: Our rockets and rocket launch accessories are designed to be used with the NAR (National Association of Rocketry) model-rocket safety code. Always ensure you have an appropriate launch site, stand back at least 15 ft., insert the safety key, issue a countdown, and then you can let your rocket fly!
- WE IGNITE IMAGINATIONS: Since 1958, Estes has created educational rocket kits and displays designed for an unforgettable aerospace experience. As a family-owned company, we have grown to offer exciting STEM products that engage aspiring rocketeers and the future minds of aerospace.
Rocket Lab founder and CEO Peter Beck described the single deal as a “massive vote of confidence” in Electron’s launch cadence, mission reliability and orbital precision. The agreement is evidence of contracted future demand; it is not a report that those 20 missions have already launched.
Did Starship reach orbit?
Yes. On its 14th flight, Starship reached low-Earth orbit and deployed 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, Ars Technica reports. That is the flight result described in this edition; the report does not establish further operational milestones beyond reaching orbit and deploying the satellites.

How many New Glenn launches does Blue Origin want?
Blue Origin’s draft plan asks the FAA for authorization for as many as 50 New Glenn launches and 50 first-stage landings per year, along with up to 100 static-fire tests. These are proposed annual ceilings, not completed launches or an already approved operating rate.
How do the three companies’ results differ?
| Company | What the report establishes | Recovery or reliability evidence | Payload or customer evidence | Backlog or regulatory status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SpaceX | Completed operations | Four booster landings across the three-launch sequence | Crew-13, a rideshare, and a classified NRO payload | No backlog figure stated in the report |
| Rocket Lab | Contracted future launch cadence | Beck cited reliability as part of the deal’s significance; no specific reliability metric stated | Synspective radar-imaging satellites | 47 total Synspective bookings, including 13 already flown |
| Blue Origin | Requested future operating ceiling | Draft plan includes first-stage landings; no completed recovery record stated here | New Glenn; no customer or payload specified in the proposal summary | Annual limits are proposed in a draft FAA plan, not reported as approved |
The comparison is about different kinds of evidence: SpaceX’s completed launches and recoveries, Rocket Lab’s customer commitment, and Blue Origin’s requested regulatory capacity. A proposed ceiling or a booked mission count should not be read as an accomplished launch cadence.

- BUILD IT. COUNT DOWN. LAUNCH IT 10 FEET: Kids build their own realistic rocket and durable launcher from precision-cut wooden parts — then press the red launch button and watch it blast up to 10 feet into the air. No batteries, no electricity — pure mechanical action. Winner of the 2025 Parents Choice Award. Designed for kids ages 6 to 12.
- REAL ROCKET SCIENCE — SERIOUSLY: Every launch teaches Newton's Third Law of Motion — action and reaction — in the most tangible way possible. Kids also discover how rocket propulsion works, what forces keep a rocket on course, and why aerodynamic design matters. These are the same principles behind actual space missions, learned through building and launching.
- SAFE FOR INDOOR LAUNCHING: The rocket's soft foam tip makes it safe to launch indoors — no need for a backyard or outdoor space. Kids can blast off in the living room, bedroom, or classroom without any risk to people or furniture. The launcher is stable, the rocket is lightweight, and the thrill is completely real.
- STEM SKILLS BUILT INTO EVERY STEP: Assembling the rocket and launcher teaches structural engineering, spatial reasoning, and mechanical thinking before a single launch takes place. Kids follow illustrated step-by-step instructions to complete the build independently — developing patience, precision, and confidence in their own ability to make things work.
- RELAUNCHABLE, REPLAYABLE, ENDLESSLY FUN: This isn't a one-shot toy. Kids reload, relaunch, and experiment — adjusting angle, force, and technique to see how high and how far the rocket goes each time. Every launch is a new experiment. Every tweak teaches something new about physics, force, and flight.
