Rocket League’s competitive ladder runs from Bronze through Supersonic Legend. A displayed rank combines a tier, a numbered rank within that tier, and (for most tiers) a division; MMR is the matchmaking rating behind ranked progression. Distribution percentages only make sense when their season and playlist are identified. The available official Season 22 figures do not establish playlist scope, and current rank-by-rank MMR thresholds are not confirmed here.
What are all the Rocket League ranks?
The standard competitive tiers, from lowest to highest, are:

- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Champion
- Grand Champion
- Supersonic Legend
Most tiers are subdivided into ranks I, II, and III, and into divisions. These labels make the displayed rank more specific than the tier name alone. Epic Games Support describes the ladder as beginning at Bronze and continuing through Silver, Gold, and beyond, with Grand Champion and Supersonic Legend among its upper ranks. Its example clarifies how a division relates to the next tier.
What rank is above Gold III?
Platinum I is the next rank above Gold III. Epic Games Support uses the example “Gold III Division II” and identifies Platinum I as the next rank. The division is a subdivision within the displayed rank; it does not change the tier name from Gold to Platinum by itself.

- High powered Hybrid of arcade style soccer and vehicular mayhem with easy to understand controls and physics driven competition
- Includes more than 100 billion possible customization combinations
- Offline season mode
What does Gold III Division II mean?
Read the label from broadest to most specific: Gold is the tier, III is the numbered rank within Gold, and Division II is the subdivision. A label such as Gold III Division II therefore identifies a particular point in the Gold portion of the ladder, rather than a separate tier called “Gold III Division II.”
What is MMR, and what MMR do you need for each rank?
MMR means matchmaking rating in ranked matchmaking. The visible rank is the label shown on the competitive ladder; MMR is the rating associated with matchmaking and progression. They are related, but they are not interchangeable labels.

No current, verified table of MMR thresholds by rank and playlist is established by the available official support information. A universal cutoff would be misleading: thresholds can vary by playlist and may change. To use a threshold table responsibly, check that it names the season or version and the playlist it covers rather than treating one number as a permanent requirement for every mode.

The excerpt does not establish which playlist these values describe or whether the chart groups players by whole rank tier or another unit. They should not be read as universal percentages across all competitive modes, nor used to infer missing rank percentages.
Season 22 launched on March 11, 2026 at 9 a.m. PT / 4 p.m. UTC, according to the official Season 22 v2.66 launch notes. A later community post reported a Season 23 distribution and said moderators were posting data supplied by Psyonix, but that is not an official Season 23 table. The Season 22 figures above are therefore not established as the latest distribution as of October 2026.

Can a distribution chart tell you the average rank?
Not reliably unless the chart explains its scope and method. A percentage needs at least a season and competitive playlist to describe a meaningful population. It also matters whether the chart reports whole tiers or individual divisions, and how the player population was defined. A chart missing those details cannot establish a general “average Rocket League rank” or tell you where you stand across modes.
For a useful comparison, match all of these:
- Season: compare the same season, not one season’s ladder with another’s.
- Playlist: distinguish modes such as 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3.
- Unit: check whether values refer to a whole tier or a specific rank or division.
- Population and method: confirm which players are counted and how the percentages were calculated.
The available official Season 22 excerpt does not supply enough chart context to make cross-playlist comparisons. A later Season 23 post surfaced in the Rocket League subreddit, but its status as a moderator post reporting Psyonix-provided data does not independently verify the actual table or its scope.
