Which Rock Hill school-board seats are up for election?
The three contests are Seat 2, Seat 4 and at-large. The candidates are newcomers to the board because Helena Miller, Pete Nosal and Lacy Daniel—the incumbents in those seats—did not file for another term. YoCo News reported the candidate roster and seat assignments on Aug. 17, 2026.

All three contests are contested. Seats 2 and 4 represent the northern part of Rock Hill; the at-large race is open to every voter in the district. The York County Democratic Party also lists these seats among the district’s 2026 elections.
When and how do voters choose trustees?
The election is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. These school-board races are nonpartisan: candidates do not appear with party labels, and there is no primary. All eight candidates are on the general-election ballot. The York County Democratic Party lists the filing period as Aug. 1–15 and notes that the school-board contests were not part of the June 9 primaries.

The local report says trustees serve staggered four-year terms. Winners are to take office at the first board meeting in November after election results are certified; the report does not give a specific certification or meeting date.

Matt Hiers
Hiers’ campaign lists student safety and learning, superintendent support, board policy and budgeting, taxpayer stewardship, and communication with the community among its priorities. He also describes himself as having relevant governance and budget experience; that background claim comes from his campaign.
Seberina Barber Myles
Myles’ campaign emphasizes academic excellence, recruiting and retaining educators, safe and welcoming schools, and responsible stewardship. Her campaign says she has spent 31 years in education as a teacher, counselor, administrator and principal. That career description is campaign-reported and was not independently verified in the material available.

What voters can and cannot compare from the available information
The roster establishes who is running for each seat, but the campaign material available for this guide does not provide a consistent set of answers from all eight candidates. It is therefore not a complete platform comparison and does not support ranking the candidates.
For a useful side-by-side comparison, voters can seek the same information from each candidate: relevant school or governance experience; priorities for students, educators and safety; approaches to policy and budget oversight; and plans for communicating with families and the public. Candidate statements should be distinguished from independently verifiable records.

The roster and seat assignments above are reported by YoCo News, and the York County Democratic Party independently lists the three Rock Hill seats as up in 2026.
