Roam SodaTop is a portable carbonator designed to attach to Roam’s 32 oz bottle; it is not just a water bottle or a universal carbonation cap. Roam describes SodaTop as a compact carbonator that works with its 32 oz bottle. The process uses a CO₂ cartridge and a twist-operated top:

Roam says its cartridges are purpose-built for SodaTop’s pressure and threading. Do not assume a generic CO₂ cartridge will fit or operate safely; use only a cartridge Roam specifies as compatible unless the company confirms otherwise.

Roam’s FAQ says one cartridge can carbonate up to 740 ml of water in the 32 oz bottle. SodaTop is calibrated for still water, and Roam recommends adding flavors after carbonation. Care and performance claims
Roam says the bottle is dishwasher-safe but recommends hand-washing the SodaTop top. The company also claims its triple-wall insulation keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours and ice for up to 48 hours, and that carbonation lasts for multiple hours when the bottle is sealed. Availability and campaign details
Roam’s product page directs visitors to Kickstarter. Its FAQ lists the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and nine EU countries as launch shipping destinations. The FAQ says shipping charges are estimates collected later through a pledge manager, with applicable taxes or duties potentially added. SodaTop’s defining trade-off is portability: the device is intended to carbonate water in a bottle rather than sit as a countertop appliance. Its setup also ties use to the Roam bottle and the company-specified cartridges, so factor cartridge compatibility and ongoing consumable availability into the decision. Roam’s stated speed, insulation, and carbonation-retention claims are not independent head-to-head measurements against countertop carbonators or ordinary bottles.

Roam has also made cost and savings claims, including in its January 2025 press release, but comparisons depend on assumptions and the price of alternatives.
