Rivian delivered a company-record 19,248 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, while producing 19,751. It was the first full quarter of customer sales for the R2, but Rivian did not disclose how many of those deliveries were R2s—so the record cannot be attributed to a specific R2 sales total.
How many vehicles did Rivian deliver in Q3 2026?
Rivian delivered 19,248 vehicles and produced 19,751 in the quarter, according to TechCrunch and Reuters. Deliveries were approximately 45% higher than in Q3 2025, TechCrunch reported. Reuters said the result exceeded the 18,001-vehicle average estimate compiled by Visible Alpha.
How much did the R2 contribute?
The R2 was available for its first full quarter of customer sales: Rivian began external deliveries on June 9, 2026. However, Rivian did not provide a model-by-model delivery breakdown in the cited Q3 report. The 19,248 total covers Rivian deliveries as a whole; it does not establish how many R2s were sold or how much the new SUV contributed to the record.
Rivian had described the R2 as a potential long-term growth and profitability driver in its Q2 release. CEO RJ Scaringe said then: “This quarter we began external deliveries of R2. I believe R2 will be a game changer for our customers and a driver of Rivian’s long-term growth and profitability.”

What R2 versions are available, and what do they cost?
Rivian’s R2 page lists a $53,990 starting price for a configuration expected in late 2026 and includes a 60-day Autonomy+ trial with delivery. The June 9 launch announcement said Performance with Launch Package deliveries began first, with Premium configurations to follow in late 2026 and Standard configurations through 2027. The starting price and rollout timing therefore do not mean every R2 configuration was available during Q3.

Reuters reported that Rivian reaffirmed its 2026 delivery guidance of 65,000 to 70,000 vehicles. The company’s full Q3 financial results were scheduled for October 29, 2026; the delivery figures alone do not include those financial results.
