Both names contain “Riven,” and both are connected to the same reward system. The Sliver’s name describes its origin, not its finished function. If your inventory contains Slivers, you have progress toward an exchange; you do not yet have a Riven Mod to equip, unveil or evaluate.

Digital Extremes’ Veilbreaker notes documented a change involving Eximus units at level 30 or above. In that update, the notes recorded a 2% chance for both Steel Path Eximus and regular Eximus. Veilbreaker: Update 32
The 2% figure is a historical, version-specific value. It should not be presented as a universal current drop rate. Mission level, enemy type, game mode and later balance changes can all matter, so check current official drop information or the live game before planning a farming route around that number.

- Check the current in-game description or reward screen for the mission or enemy you are using.
- Read the latest official patch notes when a drop table or reward system has recently changed.

- If the Riven offer is present and is your goal: verify the displayed Sliver cost and purchase limit, then decide whether spending your balance now is worth the opportunity cost of other listed rewards.
- If a different bundle is listed: compare that bundle with your immediate needs, but do not infer that the Riven exchange has been permanently removed. The shop may rotate or have changed in a later update.

Sliver exchanges can be constrained by a weekly vendor reset or purchase limit. A Riven Mod received through another reward route is not automatically governed by that Sliver exchange limit. Keep the two systems separate when planning your progression.
What happens after the exchange
Once you claim the listed Riven reward, the Slivers have served their role as the payment material. The resulting mod should be checked in your normal mod inventory, where its weapon association and displayed properties can be reviewed. If the transaction instead grants a veiled item or a bundle, follow the current game’s stated next step; do not assume every Riven-related reward is immediately an unveiled, weapon-ready mod.

“A Sliver is a weak Riven.”
No. A Sliver is not a lower-stat or incomplete mod that can be equipped. It is a separate resource described as a fragment, and its documented role is to contribute toward a complete Riven through Palladino.
“Ten Slivers always guarantee a Riven immediately.”
Ten-for-one was the archived Empyrean wording. A current game version may show a different cost, a different reward, a changed limit or no matching offer in a given rotation. Confirm the live vendor screen.
“The Chains of Harrow Melee Riven proves the Sliver exchange terms.”
No. The support FAQ’s Melee Riven reference concerns a quest reward. It is separate from the Palladino Sliver transaction and should not be used to infer its price or reset rules.
“The old Eximus percentage is a permanent farming rate.”
No. The 2% value was recorded in Veilbreaker Update 32 for the conditions described there. Treat it as a dated historical mechanic, not a current guarantee.

Your farming results do not match an old guide
