If Seekers of the Storm is not showing up in Risk of Rain 2, first check whether the account you are using owns the DLC, then whether it is installed. Those are different problems: reinstalling game files will not restore a license that is missing from the account. Use the steps for your platform below, and do not buy the expansion again until you have checked the purchase account and transaction.
First, identify what is missing
- Ownership: The platform account does not show a license for the expansion. Check the account that made the purchase, not only the device or game installation.
- Installation: The account owns the DLC, but the platform does not show it as installed or ready to use.
- In-game visibility: The platform shows ownership and installation, but the content still does not appear in the game. At this point, try the platform-specific repair steps.
Seekers of the Storm is DLC for Risk of Rain 2; the Steam listing requires the base game on Steam. Steam’s listing identifies the expansion and its base-game requirement.

On Steam, check the DLC tab before reinstalling
- Sign in to the Steam account that purchased the expansion.
- Open Library, right-click Risk of Rain 2, and choose Properties.
- Open DLC. Check whether Seekers of the Storm is listed and whether it is installed. Valve says the DLC tab shows owned DLC; if the expansion is absent there, that Steam account does not own it. Valve’s DLC documentation describes this ownership check, and Steam Support explains how to view DLC and its installation status in the library.
- If listed but not installed, use the DLC controls in Properties > DLC to install or manage it. Steam generally installs owned DLC with the game, but some DLC can be set up for manual or on-demand installation.
If Steam shows the DLC as owned and installed but the game still does not expose it, continue with the game-specific checks below. Verifying files can address damaged or missing game files; it is not a substitute for checking the account’s DLC entitlement.

Use the repair steps for your platform
2K’s Risk of Rain 2 technical troubleshooting guide, published November 11, 2024 and updated July 7, 2026, lists platform-specific steps as well as general remedies. Follow the current console instructions for your model and account, since menus and labels can change.
#1 Best Overall
- Co-op Roguelike action
- Constant battles and incredible bosses
- Old favorites return and undiscovered challenges await
Steam (PC)
- Remove mods temporarily, then check whether the DLC appears in the unmodified game.
- Verify the game files using Steam’s game properties. This checks the installed files, not ownership.
- If the DLC is still missing despite being owned, reinstall the DLC. If that does not help, 2K’s guide recommends reinstalling the full game and all DLC.
PlayStation
- Confirm the purchase was made on the PlayStation account currently being used and check the transaction or entitlement in that account.
- Follow 2K’s linked PlayStation instructions to verify console licenses.
- If you need to reinstall, check the console’s current game/add-on management screens for the expansion and its installation status.
The PlayStation Store listing is an official listing for the expansion. Its account and console-access language is specific to the listing; do not assume cross-generation entitlement rules from a PS5 listing alone. Check the store for your region and the edition you use.
Xbox
- Confirm the Xbox profile currently signed in is the one associated with the purchase.
- Follow 2K’s troubleshooting instructions to remove and re-add that Xbox profile.
- Check the console’s current game/add-on management screens to see whether the owned DLC is installed. If not, reinstall the DLC before reinstalling the full game and its DLC.
Try the remaining general fixes
- Clear the platform cache using the current instructions for your console or system.
- Install available console firmware updates.
- Reinstall the DLC first. If that fails, consider reinstalling the full game and all DLC, as 2K recommends.
These are troubleshooting measures, not guaranteed fixes. If the platform does not show ownership, prioritize the account and purchase checks rather than repeatedly reinstalling files.

Why you may see expansion content in multiplayer without owning it
Steam’s expansion listing says one player’s ownership enables the expansion for a multiplayer lobby. A player who does not own it still cannot select the new survivors or permanently unlock the expansion’s items, logbooks, or other content. Seeing some expansion content during a shared run therefore does not prove that your own account has a license.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhen to contact support
If the store shows a completed purchase but the platform still does not show the entitlement after you have checked the purchasing account, contact that platform’s support about the transaction or license. For a game-specific problem after ownership and installation are confirmed, use Gearbox Entertainment Support, which lists Risk of Rain 2 among its supported titles, or follow the support route in 2K’s troubleshooting guide. Include your platform, game edition, purchasing account, and the steps you have already tried. Don’t purchase the DLC again while the existing transaction is unresolved.
