Rishi Shiv Prasanna: “There’s Not Only One Type of Intelligence”

Rishi Shiv Prasanna’s point is that intelligence should not be judged only by school marks: children can show different strengths, and they should have room to pursue the interests that matter to them. In India Today’s October 2026 coverage of his appearance at the India Today Conclave Mumbai, he pointed to friends who excel at chess, dance, swimming and recognizing emotions. Those are his examples and his perspective—not a formal list of scientifically established intelligence types.

What Rishi means by “not only one type of intelligence”

In an interview video published on October 11, 2026, India Today reported Rishi saying, “There’s not only one type of intelligence.” The preceding day, its Conclave profile described the point through examples of friends with strengths in chess, dance, swimming and recognizing emotions. His argument is that ability can appear in different activities, not only in academic performance. India Today’s interview video and Conclave profile report his remarks.

Rishi also argues that children should be allowed to follow their passions. That is an opinion about how adults can recognize and support young people; the interview does not present it as a measured educational outcome.

Is he describing a scientific theory of intelligence?

No formal framework or fixed number of intelligence types is identified in the India Today coverage. Rishi’s examples illustrate varied strengths in everyday terms; they should not be mistaken for a validated classification or assessment system. The interview documents what he said, not scientific evidence establishing how intelligence should be defined or measured.

What else did he discuss at the Conclave?

Books and learning

India Today identifies Learn Vitamins with Harry Potter as Rishi’s first book. The report says the story grew out of a Class 1 writing competition and that he wanted his classmates to enjoy a story while learning. The same 2026 coverage says he had authored eight books by then. That is a count reported at that date, not a claim about his current total.

Artificial intelligence

Rishi predicted that AI could replace some kinds of work while also helping in education and healthcare—for example, through personalized learning and diagnosis. These are his views about possible uses, not established outcomes. The interview video also quotes him saying, “Be nice to AI. Say, say thank you whenever AI gives you something.”

An idea for cleaner air

He described an idea for a device near a car exhaust that would turn smoke into clean air. India Today said it had reached the paper-prototype stage. It should therefore be understood as an aspiration, not a working device or demonstrated pollution-control technology.

What has been reported about his IQ?

India Today’s 2026 profile repeats a reported IQ score of 180. A 2019 profile in Mensa World Journal says a private psychologist administered the BKT–Binet Kamat test and describes it as a modified version of the Stanford–Binet scale for Indian children. The underlying test record is not available in those accounts, so the figure is best described as a reported result rather than independently verified here. The September 2019 Mensa World Journal profile provides that account.

The India Today article describes Mensa admission as requiring performance in the top 2%; that is a general description of admission, not another statistic about Rishi’s score. Neither report independently establishes a direct comparison between his result and an estimated IQ for Albert Einstein.

Earlier reporting and a changing biography

Biographical details vary with publication date. The Indian Express reported in January 2023 that Rishi had created three mobile applications—the IQ test app for kids, Countries of the World and Covid Helpline—and had authored two books at that time. It also reported that he had received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. These are dated details, not a current app lineup or a contradiction of India Today’s later count of eight books. The Indian Express’s 2023 profile covers that earlier reporting.
