Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is listed for Nintendo Switch 2, with Nintendo UK giving a release date of 9 June 2026. That date has passed, so the listing confirms the planned release and date—but not current availability in every region. The “20 Year Celebration” is the name of a 2016 edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider, not a new game marking the Tomb Raider franchise’s 20th anniversary.
What Nintendo confirmed
Nintendo UK’s official product listing names Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration for Nintendo Switch 2 and gives 9 June 2026 as its release date. The page directs buyers to Nintendo eShop. It does not establish that a physical cartridge is available or that the game is listed on Amazon.

Because the date is in the past, readers should check their own country’s Nintendo eShop for whether the game is currently available there. The cited listing is Nintendo UK’s, so its date and storefront details should not be assumed to describe every region.
Why “20th anniversary” can be misleading
The anniversary wording belongs to a specific edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider. The official Tomb Raider games catalog dates Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration to 2016. It does not mean the franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026.

In fact, the franchise reaches its 30th anniversary in 2026. The official Tomb Raider announcement says, “2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the Tomb Raider series.” The series began in 1996.
How this listing relates to the newly announced Tomb Raider games
Nintendo’s listing is for the existing Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration edition. It is separate from the franchise’s 2026 announcements of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagining of the 1996 debut, and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, another upcoming game. The franchise announcement and the corporate confirmation from Embracer Group concern those new titles; they do not change what Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing identifies.

- Avoid the constant threat of wounds, delays, and misdirection caused by other players and creatures

What is—and is not—established about availability
- Platform: Nintendo Switch 2, according to Nintendo UK’s listing.
- Listed release date: 9 June 2026 on that regional product page.
- Purchase route shown: Nintendo eShop.
- Not established by the listing: current availability in every region, a physical edition, or an Amazon listing.
For a purchase decision, use the Nintendo eShop for your region rather than treating a past UK date as proof that the game is currently on sale everywhere.
