No official source currently confirms that Ripple and Stripe-owned Privy have partnered to bring embedded wallets to the XRP Ledger. The available announcements establish Privy’s Stripe acquisition and several wallet-related products, but they do not establish XRPL support, a Ripple agreement, or a live integration.
What is actually confirmed
Privy announced on June 11, 2025, that Stripe was acquiring the company. Privy said it would continue operating as an independent product and described its service as a developer API for creating wallets, signing transactions and integrating onchain systems. That announcement did not identify Ripple or the XRP Ledger as a supported partner or network.

Stripe’s “Everything we announced at Sessions 2026” included Privy-related wallet capabilities and described flexible custody choices. The material describes custodial and self-custodial options, but it does not say that those options work on XRPL. It also does not announce a Ripple partnership.

Privy’s September 9, 2026 announcement about prebuilt components for stablecoin-backed consumer cards is separate context. It describes an integration through Privy’s React SDK and a managed Stripe Issuing program covering more than 25 countries. That product update is not evidence of an XRP Ledger integration.

Ripple’s press-center listing showed releases through October 12, 2026, but the surfaced entries did not include the claimed Privy partnership. An omission from a listing is limited negative evidence, not proof that no announcement exists; a definitive conclusion requires a primary announcement from Ripple, Privy, Stripe or an identified XRPL organization.
Is Privy available on the XRP Ledger?
That question is unresolved by the currently available official material. The announcements establish that Privy provides wallet infrastructure and transaction-signing APIs, but they do not establish XRPL account creation, XRPL transaction signing, XRP or issued-asset support, or production availability.

Developers should therefore avoid treating a Privy integration as live, planned or approved for XRPL. A wallet API can support multiple chains, but support for one network cannot be inferred from support for another. XRPL compatibility would need to be documented explicitly, including the transaction formats, signing flow and network endpoints involved.

- Find a primary announcement. Look for a dated post or documentation page naming Ripple, Privy and the XRP Ledger together. Marketing references to embedded wallets or Stripe products alone are insufficient.
- Check the supported-network list. Confirm whether XRPL mainnet and testnet are named, rather than assuming generic “multichain” language includes them.
- Confirm wallet operations. Verify account generation, key import or export, transaction signing, payment submission and support for XRP Ledger issued assets if those functions are required.
- Review custody terms. Determine who controls keys, whether recovery is available, what authentication methods are supported and whether users can move to an external wallet.
- Check access conditions. Establish SDK versions, approval requirements, geographic restrictions, pricing, rate limits and whether the feature is a private preview or generally available.
Custody and wallet features described in official updates
Stripe’s Sessions 2026 material describes Privy custody choices that include custodial and self-custodial models. Those terms matter, but they do not answer how keys would be handled for an XRPL deployment.

- TAMPER-EVIDENT SECURITY LAYERS - Each coin includes peel-to-reveal protection that helps provide a clear visual signal if the private key area has been accessed. Once opened to move funds out, the coin should not be reused for secure cold storage.
| Question | What is established | What is not established for XRPL |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet creation | Privy describes an API for developers to create wallets. | XRPL account creation or address derivation. |
| Transaction signing | Privy describes transaction-signing capabilities. | Signing and submitting XRPL transactions. |
| Custody | Stripe describes custodial and self-custodial options through Privy-related products. | The custody model, recovery process or key export rules for an XRPL integration. |
| Consumer onboarding | Privy offers embedded-wallet components and related authentication infrastructure. | Whether an XRPL wallet flow is live, which login methods it uses or where it is available. |
| Payments and assets | Privy announced stablecoin-card components through a Stripe Issuing program in September 2026. | XRP, XRPL issued assets or Ripple-specific payment functionality. |
Why the headline may have appeared
The claim combines several real developments: Stripe’s acquisition of Privy, Privy’s embedded-wallet APIs, Stripe’s custody messaging and Ripple’s role in the XRP Ledger ecosystem. Those facts make an XRPL integration plausible as a subject of speculation, but plausibility is not an announcement. No named official quote or document in the available material confirms the partnership.
What an authentic launch announcement should contain
If Ripple and Privy later confirm an integration, a useful announcement should state the announcement date, the named contracting or technical parties, the exact XRPL functionality, custody arrangement and rollout stage. Developers also need to know whether support covers mainnet, testnet, XRP payments, issued tokens, trust lines, signing policies and transaction recovery.

The announcement should distinguish a demonstration or roadmap from a generally available product. It should identify the SDK or API documentation, supported regions and eligibility rules, and clarify whether Ripple, Privy, Stripe or another provider maintains the integration.
Practical takeaway for developers today
Do not schedule an XRPL production launch around the reported partnership. Treat Privy’s documented wallet APIs and Stripe-era custody features as separate, established products, and wait for explicit XRPL documentation before committing to integration work. Until that documentation appears, the status of a Ripple–Privy embedded-wallet integration is unverified.
