Riot Games concluyó después del partido que los árbitros debieron repetir la ronda en la que Doğan “xeus” Gözgen, de FUT Esports, dejó de poder disparar contra 100 Thieves en VALORANT Champions 2026 Shanghai. Aun así, mantuvo la victoria de 100 Thieves por 2-0. Como respuesta a problemas repetidos con ratones durante el evento, Riot pidió temporalmente a los jugadores que usaran conexiones cableadas y anunció que reemplazaría los escritorios metálicos personalizados, según informó Sheep Esports el 1 de octubre de 2026.
Qué ocurrió en la ronda de FUT contra 100 Thieves
El incidente ocurrió en una ronda anti-eco de Split durante la primera mitad del encuentro. El ratón de xeus dejó de disparar y FUT perdió la ronda. Los árbitros no la revirtieron durante el partido, según la cobertura contemporánea de Sheep Esports.

La cobertura describe el problema como un fallo del ratón, pero la información publicada no determina si se debió al periférico, a una interferencia, a la conexión inalámbrica o a otra causa. Tampoco permite atribuirlo específicamente a los escritorios.
Riot reconoció el error, pero mantuvo el 2-0
Tras revisar lo sucedido, Riot concluyó que la ronda debía haberse repetido y reconoció que la decisión arbitral tomada durante el partido fue incorrecta, de acuerdo con Sheep Esports. Riot no cambió el resultado: 100 Thieves conservó la victoria por 2-0 sobre FUT.

La explicación atribuida a Riot fue que las alternativas habrían dado la victoria a un equipo que había competido bajo las mismas condiciones y no era responsable del error. Sheep Esports reprodujo además esta frase de una declaración de Riot: “the experience at Champions so far has not met the standards we expect for players and fans”. La cita se atribuye al comunicado de Riot tal como lo reprodujo el medio.
Medidas temporales para ratones y escritorios
Ante problemas repetidos con ratones durante Champions, Riot pidió temporalmente a los participantes que usaran conexiones cableadas. También anunció que sustituiría los escritorios metálicos personalizados por escritorios hechos con otro material, según Sheep Esports.

La medida de usar cable se refiere a este evento y a su contexto técnico. No demuestra que los ratones inalámbricos sean generalmente defectuosos ni constituye una recomendación universal para jugadores.

La ficha confirma la existencia del reglamento general del circuito, pero no identifica qué disposición específica se aplicó al fallo de hardware de FUT ni explica la decisión de mantener el resultado.
