Riftbound: Radiance is scheduled to release on October 23, 2026, in English, French, and Chinese. Riot’s music-themed set includes K/DA Special cards, Heartsteel Overnumbers, musically inspired alternate-art Runes, new Legends, and a chase Ultimate Rare that is not guaranteed in any pack, box, or case. Local Radiance Pre-Rift sealed events are scheduled to begin October 16 and run through October 22, although each store sets its own timetable.
This FAQ explains what is in a booster, how Radiance rarities work, what Riot means by its Ultimate Rare frequency, which products give you fixed cards versus randomized cards, and how to build a legal deck at a Pre-Rift.

When does Riftbound: Radiance release?
Riot Games lists October 23, 2026, as the Radiance set release date. The overview lists English, French, and Chinese releases. Because the date and product availability are time-sensitive, check the latest official announcement and your local retailer before traveling or placing an order. Riot’s announcement is available at The Radiance Overview.
Players can experience the set before general release through local Pre-Rift sealed events. Riot’s event guide says the event window starts Friday, October 16, and continues through October 22. Stores choose their individual schedules, so use Riot’s event locator or contact the store directly rather than assuming every location runs the event on the same day. The event format and kit are explained in Preparing for the Radiance Pre-Rift.

What rarities are in Radiance?
Radiance uses several tiers and treatments rather than a single common-to-rare ladder. A booster’s premium slot may contain a Rare, Epic, Alt Art, Special Alt, Overnumber, or Ultimate Rare. Foil cards can also be Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic. The card treatment is therefore separate from the basic rarity printed on a card: an alternate-art version and an Overnumber are special presentation categories, while Rare and Epic describe standard rarity levels.
- Common and Uncommon: the ordinary lower-rarity cards that make up most of a pack.
- Rare and Epic: higher-rarity cards that can appear in the normal Rare-or-Epic slot, in the foil slot, or in the premium replacement slot depending on the card and collation.
- Alt Art: an alternate illustration or treatment in the premium slot.
- Special Alt: a special alternate-art treatment. Riot says Special Alt cards appear at roughly the same frequency as Alt Art cards.
- Overnumber: a numbered or specially presented version, including Heartsteel Overnumbers and Overnumbered versions of nine new Legends.
- Ultimate Rare: the rarest named chase treatment in the set. It can occupy the same premium slot and is not guaranteed at any sealed-product level.
A pack can contain at most one Ultimate Rare. The fact that several different treatments share one premium slot is why opening a pack does not guarantee a particular rarity, character, or music-themed card.
What comes in a Radiance booster pack?
Riot’s listed Radiance booster configuration is:
- 7 Commons
- 3 Uncommons
- 1 foil card, which may be a Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic
- 1 Rare or Epic
- 1 premium slot that may be a Rare, Epic, Alt Art, Special Alt, Overnumber, or Ultimate Rare
- 1 Token, Rune, or Alt Art Rune
- 1 informational insert
The premium slot is the pack’s main source of uncertainty. A pack may have a Rare there, or it may have one of the more elaborate treatments. The foil slot is also variable, but its stated range stops at Epic; it is not a second route to an Ultimate Rare under the listed configuration.
Manufacturing randomizes pack contents. That means two packs from the same display can have very different results, and a display or case does not come with a promised number of chase cards.

How rare is the Radiance Ultimate Rare?
Riot Games states that, averaged across the entire Radiance print run, an Ultimate Rare appears in approximately 0.025% of booster packs. This is a print-run average supplied by Riot in 2026, not a guaranteed rate for an individual pack, display, case, store, or region. Riot’s exact warning is: There is no guaranteed Ultimate Rare in any pack, box, or case.
The same official overview gives the average as: On average across the entire Radiance print run, an Ultimate Rare appears in approximately 0.025% of booster packs.
Do not turn that population average into a promise that a certain number of boxes will produce one, or into a purchase formula that guarantees an Ultimate Rare. The cards are randomized during manufacturing, and each pack can contain no more than one Ultimate Rare. See Riot’s wording in the Radiance Overview.
This distinction matters when comparing sealed products. Buying more packs gives you more opportunities to open cards, but it does not change the no-guarantee condition attached to each pack, box, or case. Riot has not established an individual box pull rate in the cited announcement.

Yes. Riot describes Radiance as a music-themed set featuring bands from the League of Legends universe. The named treatments include K/DA Special cards and Heartsteel Overnumbers. The set also introduces nine new Legends with Overnumbered variants; some of those variants can carry an artist signature. Musically inspired Alt Art Runes are another part of the presentation.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

These are League universe music treatments. Riot’s cited announcements do not describe Radiance as a collaboration with an outside, real-world musician or band, so the accurate description is a music-themed League set rather than a guest-artist crossover. Special Alt cards appear at roughly the same frequency as Alt Art cards, according to Riot, but the announcement does not provide separate pack odds for K/DA, Heartsteel, signatures, or individual Legends.
Which Radiance products can you buy?
Radiance supports three different ways to participate: randomized boosters for collection breadth, fixed Showdown Decks for immediate play, and a local Pre-Rift event that supplies a limited card pool and a place to learn the set. Riot also lists a Vault and a Pre-Rift kit. The following details come from Riot’s product drawing FAQ and Radiance announcements; drawing prices are not universal retail prices.
| Product or route | What Riot lists | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Radiance Booster Display | 24 booster packs, with 14 cards per pack; Riot’s drawing FAQ describes a 180-card pool containing 66 Showcase cards. The drawing price is $119.99 / €127.99 plus shipping and handling. | Opening randomized packs and pursuing Showcase or other premium treatments, while accepting that no Ultimate Rare is guaranteed. |
| Evelynn vs. Seraphine Showdown Decks | Two 56-card preconstructed decks, two paper playmats, and a rulebook. Riot’s drawing price is $34.99 / €36.99 plus shipping and handling. | Starting with playable, fixed contents instead of opening a randomized collection. |
| Vault | A storage box, six Radiance booster packs, foil tokens, and a set of 36 Runes. | Combining storage and accessories with a smaller number of randomized packs. |
| Pre-Rift kit | Five Radiance booster packs, one seeded champion pack themed around one of nine new Legends, and a Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor promo. The promo cannot be used in the Sealed deck. | Playing a local limited event and building from the supplied pool. |
Riot’s drawing FAQ describes a particular official-store process: customers enter during a five-day window, selected accounts receive a purchase link by email, and the selected customer has 24 hours to complete the purchase. That description explains how a drawing product works; it does not establish that a drawing is open now or that stock is currently available. When shopping, verify the listing identity, seller, language, and availability.

- Confirm the schedule. Find a participating store through Riot’s event locator or ask the store for its October 16–22 timetable. Event times vary by location.
- Receive the kit. The kit supplies five Radiance boosters, a seeded champion pack themed around one of nine new Legends, and the Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor promo. Set the promo aside because it is not legal in the Sealed deck.
- Open only the event pool. Your deck uses the cards opened from the supplied boosters and champion pack. Do not add cards from a personal binder or another product.
- Choose up to three domains. Your Main Deck must contain at least 25 cards and may use cards and Runes from no more than three domains.
- Build around Units and an early curve. Riot’s guide says most decks want at least 15 Units and suggests about five two-Energy Units for early plays. Give the remaining Units a spread of costs, then add non-Unit cards that support your plan.
- Use duplicate cards you opened. In this sealed format, you may play as many copies of a card as you opened, even if that exceeds the normal three-copy limit.
- Use organizer-provided Runes and token substitutes. The organizer provides additional Runes. Tokens can be represented with convenient substitutes if needed.
- Adjust between games as allowed. Riot says you can change your deck between games and rounds while following the event’s rules. Keep your pool organized so changes are quick and legal.
The five-Unit recommendation and five two-Energy suggestion are construction guidance, not hard deck-building requirements. Your opened cards may justify a different balance, but a deck with too few Units or no early plays can struggle to contest the first Battlefields.

Deploy
Deploy lets you play the Gear only to a Battlefield. It grants its benefits there and is killed when an opponent holds that Battlefield. The restriction makes Deploy Gear a positional tool rather than a general-purpose permanent you can place anywhere.
Show Off
Show Off asks you to reveal a qualifying card from your hand or board to unlock a new effect on the card you played. Keep the qualifying card visible long enough to resolve the ability according to the card text and event rules.

Two rules clarifications from the Pre-Rift guide
- Equipment text is active only while the card is equipped. If an Equipment is converted into a Unit, it does not inherit that Equipment text.
- Encore requires choosing two different options. Selecting the same option twice does not satisfy that requirement.
These are targeted clarifications from Riot’s Pre-Rift guide, not a replacement for the complete rules. For unusual card interactions, consult the card wording and Riot’s official rules updates.
Which Radiance route fits your goal?
Choose boosters when you want collection variety
A Booster Display gives 24 randomized packs and access to the full range of listed pack treatments, including Alt Art, Special Alt, Overnumber, and Ultimate Rare possibilities. It is the least predictable route: the display description does not guarantee a particular character, treatment, or chase card, and Riot expressly rules out an Ultimate Rare guarantee.
Choose Showdown Decks when you want a ready starting point
The Evelynn and Seraphine Showdown Deck product has fixed, preconstructed contents, playmats, and a rulebook. That predictability makes it a better first purchase for someone who wants to learn the game immediately rather than sort a randomized pool before playing.
Choose Pre-Rift when you want a social introduction
A local Pre-Rift combines opening new cards with a limited deck-building challenge and scheduled games. It is the most direct way to learn Radiance’s cards while using the same pool-building constraints as other players at the event. The trade-off is that attendance depends on a participating store and a date that fits your schedule.
Radiance buying and event checklist
- Confirm that the release date, language, and local event schedule still match the latest Riot announcement.
- For a display, verify that the product is Radiance and that the listing describes 24 packs of 14 cards; do not infer an Ultimate Rare guarantee from the display format.
- For a Showdown Deck, check whether the listing contains both 56-card decks, two paper playmats, and the rulebook.
- At a Pre-Rift, ask the organizer how deck registration, between-round changes, and token substitutes are handled.
- Keep the Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor promo separate from the Sealed pool because Riot says it cannot enter that deck.
- When collecting music-themed cards, distinguish K/DA Special cards, Heartsteel Overnumbers, Overnumbered Legends, signatures, and Alt Art Runes; they are different treatments, not one interchangeable rarity.
For the latest product descriptions and any promised updates to Radiance information, monitor Riot’s official Radiance Overview, the Radiance Drawing FAQ, and the Pre-Rift guide near the October 23 release and your event date.
