Is Ridley Scott directing Blade Runner 2099?
The announced credit for Scott is executive producer, not director. Silka Luisa is the showrunner. The official announcement does not confirm that Scott is directing any episodes, so it would be inaccurate to describe the series as his directing return.

How does this compare with Raised by Wolves?
Blade Runner 2099 is Scott’s forthcoming streaming project in an established film franchise. Scott previously worked on Raised by Wolves, a serialized science-fiction series set in an original world that was released on HBO Max. WarnerMedia said Scott would make his television directorial debut with that series and credited him as an executive producer.
