Release date and platforms
room6’s single-player action game launches on November 19, 2026, according to Nintendo’s official store listing. Both the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the Nintendo Switch version are digital releases scheduled for that date. The game previously launched on PC through Steam in November 2025.

Nintendo identifies room6 as both developer and publisher, matching the Steam listing. Pricing, upgrade-pack costs, physical editions and regional retail availability have not been announced in the cited listings, so buyers should check their local Nintendo eShop page closer to launch.
What changes on Switch 2?
The Switch 2 Edition is an enhanced version rather than a separate content release. Nintendo lists two platform-specific improvements:

Nintendo explicitly says there are no differences in game content between the Switch and Switch 2 versions. The meaningful choice is therefore hardware performance and input: the standard Switch uses its ordinary control options, while Switch 2 adds mouse-sensor support and the improved frame rate.
How the game plays
You play as Little Tete, who cannot directly fight the monsters that attack night after night. Instead, Tete must keep moving and evade danger while stuffed animals attack and support him. Luna teaches Tete how to use the plushies, turning movement, positioning and build selection into the central survival strategy.

Plushies fill different combat roles
Nintendo says there are 40 plushie types to choose from. Their functions include short-range attacks, long-range shots and support abilities. Because Tete himself cannot attack, selecting a combination that covers the threats in a particular run is more important than simply choosing the highest damage option.
Gold drives each preparation phase
After each monster attack, you spend the gold collected during play on new plushies and special items. Nintendo lists more than 100 items. Some improve a strength while introducing a weakness, so every purchase can alter the risks of the next attack. A build that hits harder, for example, may also make another part of survival more difficult; the game’s loop is built around weighing those trade-offs before returning to combat.

Costumes add a longer-term build layer
Completing the story unlocks clothing choices for Tete. There are more than 20 costumes, and each changes strengths and weaknesses. Nintendo’s examples illustrate how they steer a run: Moonlight Wizard favors long-range plushies, Nap Cloud favors stationary plushies, and Doggy Friend favors dog plushies. The resulting build combines a costume with selected plushies and items rather than treating any one choice as universally best.

Which version should you choose?
Choose Switch 2 if smoother motion or mouse input matters
The Switch 2 Edition is the natural choice for owners of Nintendo’s newer console who want the improved frame rate or plan to experiment with Joy-Con 2’s mouse sensor. Those enhancements affect how the game feels to play, but not the available story, plushies, items or costumes.

Choose the Switch version if you already use the original console
The standard Switch release contains the same game content and supports TV, tabletop and handheld play. It remains the straightforward option for players who do not have Switch 2 hardware or do not need its input and frame-rate improvements.

What is confirmed—and what is not
Nintendo has confirmed the November 19, 2026 digital launch, both platforms, the 550 MB estimated size on each system, one-player support, save-data cloud support and the listed languages. It has also confirmed 40 plushie types, more than 100 items and more than 20 costumes.

Reverie in the Moonlight is a focused evasion-and-build action game coming to both Nintendo Switch systems on November 19, 2026.
