The Wild Gentlemen describes RetroSpace as a disco-punk space horror game with immersive-sim problem solving. Its fictional story takes place in 2177: humanity’s AURORA fleet is searching for a new home when the Aurora 5 station is pulled into a black hole. Stealth, combat, and environmental problem-solving
There is more than one way to handle threats. Official descriptions say players can hide, divert enemies, set traps, find hidden routes, use environmental hazards, manipulate security systems, or fight directly. The common thread is using the station and its systems to solve problems, whether avoiding a confrontation or choosing action.

Aurora 5 is described as an interconnected station with shortcuts and secret paths linking areas, rather than a sequence of wholly separate spaces.
