Short answer: buy Standard if you only need Resident Evil Requiem. Choose Deluxe for its specific costumes, weapon skins, charms, filters, audio pack and files; choose Steelbook Deluxe only when the physical case and lenticular card justify the premium. On Nintendo Switch 2, compare the separate Generation Pack if you also want Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.
Resident Evil Requiem editions at a glance
All versions contain the core Resident Evil Requiem game. The differences are bonus digital items, collector packaging and, for Nintendo Switch 2, the inclusion of two earlier games. Capcom’s preorder announcement covered PS5, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Epic Games Store; later product details list PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Check the exact platform and territory before paying because names, stock and prices can vary.

|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | Resident Evil Requiem | Players who want the base game | US PlayStation Store price was $69.99 when accessed October 13, 2026; prices are storefront- and region-specific. |
| Deluxe Edition | Full game plus Deluxe Kit: five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two screen filters, a custom sound pack and additional in-game files | Players who specifically want the listed extras | Digital content does not add a separate campaign according to the listed contents. |
| Steelbook Deluxe Edition | Everything in Deluxe, plus a steelbook case and limited-edition lenticular card | Physical collectors | Retailer stock, territory and the precise physical bundle must be confirmed for the listing you choose. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 Generation Pack | Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition | Switch 2 owners who want all three games | This is a three-game bundle, not another name for Deluxe; a price was not stated in the cited material. |
For most buyers, Standard is the sensible default. Deluxe becomes compelling only when the named cosmetics and extras matter to you at the price premium available on your storefront. Steelbook Deluxe is a packaging decision, while the Generation Pack should be evaluated against the value of owning the two previous games.
What comes with the Standard Edition?
Standard is the straightforward purchase: it contains Resident Evil Requiem, with no Deluxe Kit or collector packaging listed. It is the right choice if your priority is playing the campaign and you do not collect alternate outfits, weapon appearances or in-game memorabilia.
#1 Best Overall
- Amazon Exclusive - 2 sided poster included in every game!
- Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst who is introverted and easily scared, representing a new type of character for the Resident Evil series. Grace will experience horror from the same perspective as the player as she learns to overcome her fears throughout the course of the story.
- For the first time ever in Resident Evil history, players will be able to freely switch between both first- and third-person perspectives throughout the game.
- An Anniversary to Remember: With March 2026 marking the Resident Evil series’ 30-year anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem marks its own milestone in the franchise.
- Pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are now open, with the bonus of Grace’s costume: Apocalypse. Please note that the picture weapon does not come with the costume, but it can be obtained in-game.
The official US PlayStation Store listed Standard at $69.99 on October 13, 2026. That is a dated US digital price, not a promise about another country, platform, physical retailer or a later sale. Before checkout, verify whether the listing is for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC or Switch 2 and whether the displayed currency and taxes match your location.
What is included in Deluxe Edition?
Deluxe includes the complete game and a Deluxe Kit. Capcom’s product information and the US PlayStation listing identify the following items:
Five character costumes
- Grace: Dimitrescu costume
- Grace: Film Noir costume
- Leon: RE4 costume
- Leon: Apocalypse costume
- Leon: Film Noir costume
Four weapon skins
The Deluxe Kit contains four weapon skins. The cited listing establishes the quantity, but does not provide a separate weapon-by-weapon breakdown in the available edition description. Treat these as appearance options rather than additional weapons unless your platform’s full item description says otherwise.

Two charms
- Mr. Raccoon charm
- DSO Emblem charm
Two screen filters
- Apocalypse filter
- Film Noir filter
Audio and collectible-style files
- Raccoon City Classic audio pack
- Letters from 1998 additional in-game files
These are cosmetic, presentation and collectible-style additions. Nothing in the listed contents identifies a new story chapter, playable character campaign or gameplay expansion. If you are buying Deluxe for a particular outfit or filter, confirm that the exact item appears in your platform’s cart; storefront descriptions can use different line breaks or bundle labels.
Does Resident Evil Requiem have a Steelbook edition?
Yes. Capcom describes a Steelbook Deluxe Edition that includes all Deluxe contents, a steelbook case and a limited-edition lenticular card. The physical extras are the reason to choose it over digital or ordinary physical Deluxe.
There is no universal price or stock figure for Steelbook Deluxe in the supplied product information. Availability can differ by country, retailer and time. A listing that says “Deluxe” is not automatically the Steelbook version, so check the edition name, platform, disc format and the photographs or itemized contents. If the case and card are the main reason you are buying, save the retailer’s description and order confirmation; replacement policies for limited physical items are handled by the seller, not by the digital storefront.
Rank #2
- JUEGO SONY PS5 RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE GOLD EDITION
What is the Nintendo Switch 2 Generation Pack?
The Generation Pack is a separate Switch 2 bundle containing three games:
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition
- Resident Evil Village Gold Edition
It is not a Deluxe upgrade and should not be compared as though it merely adds costumes to Requiem. Its value depends on whether you would otherwise buy the two earlier Gold Editions. If you already own either game, compare the bundle’s current price with the cost of the missing title rather than paying twice for a duplicate license. The cited material does not state a Generation Pack price, so use the live Switch 2 store or a current physical listing.
What happened to the preorder costume?
Capcom originally advertised a Grace costume as a preorder bonus in its November 26, 2025 announcement: Capcom’s preorder announcement. That historical promotion should not be treated as a permanent free item.
The US PlayStation Store listing accessed October 13, 2026 shows Grace’s Apocalypse costume as a separately purchasable $2.99 add-on: the current Deluxe listing. Check your platform’s current cart before assuming the costume is included, free or exclusive to a preorder. A preorder made in a different region may also have had different terms.
Prices and the Deluxe value question
The clearest dated comparison is the US PlayStation Store snapshot from October 13, 2026:
| Edition | Displayed price | What that figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $69.99 | US digital storefront listing accessed October 13, 2026. |
| Deluxe | $79.99 original/listed price | US PlayStation Store list price in the same listing. |
| Deluxe sale | $55.99 | Temporary US PlayStation Store sale shown on October 13, 2026 and stated to run through October 22, 2026. |
The temporary $55.99 sale was lower than the $69.99 Standard price at the time of access, but it is not a stable edition-value rule. Sales end, prices differ by platform and region, and a physical copy may follow a different discount schedule. Recheck the storefront immediately before purchase at the official US PlayStation listing or the equivalent page for your platform.
Rank #3
- Intense horror experience with dark narrative
- Improved images and refined game mechanics included
- Players take on the role of Leon S Kennedy
- Mission to save the president's daughter from danger
- Challenging environments and strategic combat scenarios await
Use this decision test:
- Buy Standard when you want the game and would not pay extra for alternate looks, filters, audio or files.
- Buy Deluxe when at least one of the named costumes, weapon skins, charms, filters, audio pack or Letters from 1998 is a meaningful part of your purchase, and the current premium fits your budget.
- Buy Steelbook Deluxe when you want the physical case and lenticular card as collectibles and the seller confirms the complete bundle.
- Buy the Generation Pack on Switch 2 when you want Requiem plus both earlier Gold Editions, not merely the Deluxe extras.
Platform, region and account checks
Capcom says the game content is basically the same across platform versions, while hardware and controller features differ. Its support FAQ also states that crossplay and cross-saves are not supported: Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem FAQ.
That means your edition choice should start with where you will actually play. A PC purchase will not let you continue a save on PS5 or Xbox, and multiplayer or platform-to-platform ownership assumptions should not influence the edition decision. On Switch 2, Capcom lists the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller as supported, but the controller is optional and is not included with any edition.
Capcom cautions that normal operation is not guaranteed when the software, hardware or downloadable content comes from a different country or region. Keep the game, account and add-ons aligned to one territory. This matters especially when importing a physical disc and buying Deluxe content from a digital store in another region.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsA practical buying checklist
- Choose the platform first. Confirm PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC or Switch 2, then select the matching storefront or disc.
- Read the edition line. Make sure the cart says Standard, Deluxe, Steelbook Deluxe or Generation Pack; do not rely on a product image alone.
- Itemize the extras. For Deluxe, look for five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two filters, the audio pack and Letters from 1998.
- Check physical contents. For Steelbook Deluxe, confirm the steelbook case and lenticular card, disc format and seller’s territory.
- Check the date and currency. Record whether a discount is temporary, such as the $55.99 US PlayStation promotion that ended October 22, 2026.
- Check your region. Match the account, game and add-on region to avoid Capcom’s stated compatibility warning.
- For Switch 2, compare the library. If you already own Resident Evil 7 biohazard or Resident Evil Village, calculate the value of the remaining games before selecting Generation Pack.
What the sales figures do—and do not—tell you
Capcom reported that Resident Evil Requiem, released February 27, 2026, exceeded 6 million units worldwide by March 16, 2026, calling it the fastest title in the series to reach that milestone: Capcom’s March 16, 2026 release. The same release reported more than 183 million cumulative Resident Evil franchise sales as of December 31, 2025.
Those are publisher sales milestones, not evidence that Deluxe, Steelbook Deluxe or Generation Pack sells better or offers better value. Edition choice should remain based on the contents, price, platform and packaging you actually want.
Bottom line
Standard is the best answer for a player who simply wants Resident Evil Requiem. Deluxe is a targeted upgrade for fans of the listed costumes and presentation extras, not a substitute for story content. Steelbook Deluxe is for collectors who can verify the physical bundle, and the Switch 2 Generation Pack is for buyers who also want both earlier Gold Editions. Check the live regional listing, because the dated US prices, preorder treatment and stock can change.
