The reported price band for the Jio Platforms IPO is ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. The Economic Times published that range on October 9, 2026, attributing it to ET Now, which cited agency reports. It is a likely band, not a confirmed one. Jio Platforms’ draft red herring prospectus, dated June 19, 2026, leaves the price band and issue price blank and says the price will be determined through book building. Until the final offer document is filed, treat ₹1,065–₹1,119 as a media-reported range.
The price band: reported, not printed in the draft
Two documents are relevant here, and they say different things. The October 9 Economic Times report gives the band as ₹1,065–₹1,119 per share. The June 19 draft prospectus, hosted by SEBI, does not print any band. Its price band and issue price are placeholders, which is normal for a draft filed before pricing is settled. The company’s own description is that the offer price will be set through book building, meaning investors bid within a range and the final price emerges from that demand.

So the accurate statement is: a band of ₹1,065–₹1,119 was reported on October 9, 2026, and the draft leaves pricing open. If you see a headline that presents the band as official, check whether it cites the final red herring prospectus. Reporting so far cites media accounts of the band, not the filed document.

The same October 9 report said public subscription was expected to start on October 21, 2026, with shares possibly listing on October 28, 2026. The report also refers to earlier timetable reporting by Reuters. These are expectations. The June draft does not set an IPO calendar, and the cited sources do not include an issuer announcement that fixes the subscription window or listing day.
#1 Best Overall
Two dates should be read together with the regulatory condition described below. Reliance Industries’ exchange filing states that the IPO will be subject to receipt of the required regulatory approvals. A reported October 21 opening depends on that approval being in place, and none of the cited sources confirm it has been received.
Issue size: three figures, two dates, one mismatch
Readers searching for the “issue size” are finding different numbers, and they come from different bases. The table below keeps each figure tied to its publisher and date.
Rank #2
- Comes with secure packaging
- Easy to read text
- It can be a gift option
| Figure | Source and date | Basis stated in the source |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 270 million shares (27 crore), face value ₹10 each | Jio Platforms draft red herring prospectus, June 19, 2026 | Proposed fresh issue of shares; no rupee amount, because the price is still blank |
| ₹28,755 crore (low end) and ₹30,213 crore (high end) | The Economic Times, October 9, 2026 | Reported band of ₹1,065–₹1,119 multiplied by up to 27 crore shares |
| ₹37,700 crore | ET Now video page, carried by The Economic Times, October 7, 2026 | Not stated on the cited page |
The first two figures reconcile arithmetically: 27 crore shares at ₹1,065 is ₹28,755 crore, and at ₹1,119 is ₹30,213 crore. The ₹37,700 crore estimate does not fit that share count. Dividing it by 27 crore shares implies roughly ₹1,396 per share, which sits above the reported band. The two estimates therefore rest on different assumptions, and the cited sources do not say what those assumptions are. Until a final offer document states the aggregate issue amount, the rupee size of the IPO is not settled.
What the June draft sets, and what it leaves open
The draft is the most authoritative document available for the structure of the offer, even though it is incomplete on price. The table separates settled terms from open ones.
| Term | Position in the cited documents | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Issuer | Jio Platforms Limited | Stated in the draft |
| Type of issue | Fresh issue of equity shares, up to 27 crore shares | Proposed in the draft |
| Face value | ₹10 per share | Stated in the draft |
| Price band and issue price | Placeholders; price to be determined through book building | Open in the draft; ₹1,065–₹1,119 reported separately |
| Aggregate issue amount | Placeholder | Open in the draft |
| Regulatory approval | IPO subject to receipt of the required regulatory approvals, per Reliance Industries’ exchange filing | Condition stated; receipt not confirmed in the cited sources |
A fresh issue means the new shares are created by the company, so the money raised goes to the company rather than to selling shareholders. It also means existing shareholders’ percentage stake is diluted unless they buy into the offer. The cited sources do not describe how the proceeds would be used, so that question needs the final offer document.
Pre-issue ownership in the draft
The draft identifies Reliance Industries as the promoter. It also lists two shareholders by percentage as of the draft’s date:
Rank #4
- Jaadhu Holdings, described as an affiliate of Meta: 9.98% pre-issue.
- Google International LLC: 7.73% pre-issue.
These are historical figures from a June 19, 2026 draft. They do not show post-IPO holdings, and they should not be read as the current shareholding after any allotment.
How to verify the final terms
- Open the investor-relations IPO page at https://www.jio.com/about/investor-relations/ipo/ and look for the final red herring prospectus. Its presence there is the signal that a document has been formally filed.
- Compare the draft at https://www.sebi.gov.in/sebi_data/commondocs/jun-2026/Jio%20Platforms%20Ltd_p.PDF with the final filing to see which placeholders have been filled.
- Check Reliance Industries’ exchange disclosure at https://nsearchives.nseindia.com/corporate/kavinavora_19062026142004_SE_19062026_signed.pdf for the regulatory-approval condition and any later update.
- Confirm the price band, subscription dates, and aggregate issue amount against the final offer document, not against news reports. Where a report’s figure differs from the filing, the filing governs.
- Treat the October 9 report’s dates as provisional until the issuer announces the subscription window.
What to weigh before forming a view
The price band is only one input. An investor assessing the offer will want to compare the valuation implied by the final price against the company’s disclosed financial performance, measure dilution from the fresh issue against the company’s existing capital, read the use-of-proceeds section, and study the risk factors in the offer document. The sources behind this article do not establish the offer’s valuation or the company’s financial results, so those comparisons depend on the final filing.
