ReGLOSS: CROSS is a directional, continuous-movement puzzle game: point a member in a direction, and that member keeps moving until a wall or other dead end stops them. You solve each board by bringing members of the same color together, while planning around teleporting Warp Panels and signs that become passable only after you activate their switches. The launch version contains 70 puzzles across five regular stages and three extra stages, and is available as a single-player Windows PC game on Steam.
How ReGLOSS: CROSS works
The official Steam description reduces the control scheme to one sentence: “The controls are simple—just move the members in the direction you want them to go!” That simplicity hides the central challenge. A command is not a one-square step. Once you choose a direction, the selected member travels continuously until the board gives it a stopping point.

The objective: unite matching colors
Every solved pair consists of two members of the same color meeting in the same place. You are not merely trying to move one character toward a target. A route is successful only when both members in the pair can eventually reach a common endpoint without making the other member’s route impossible.

For each member, ask where a move in each direction will end. Then reserve the useful junctions and stopping points for the pair that needs them. A move can look correct because it brings one member close to the right area, yet still fail if it blocks or misdirects the matching member.

Why continuous movement changes your planning
In a step-by-step puzzle, you can often correct a mistake after one square. In ReGLOSS: CROSS, one directional input may carry a member across most of the board. Before committing, trace the entire run: entry point, path, possible turn, and final dead end. If the run passes a switch, sign, or Warp Panel, include that state change in your prediction.
- Start from stopping points. Identify walls, corners, barriers, and other locations where a member can actually come to rest.
- Trace the full line. Do not stop your mental simulation at the first interesting tile; continue until the member cannot travel farther.
- Protect shared junctions. A central intersection may be the only place where two same-color members can meet.
- Plan both members of a pair. If one route consumes the only useful approach for its partner, the move is premature even when its immediate position looks good.
A reliable way to read a new board
The following routine works before you know which gimmicks a stage will introduce. It turns an unfamiliar layout into a set of finite decisions rather than a sequence of guesses.
- Inventory the board. Mark every member, its color, walls or dead ends, visible signs, switches, and Warp Panels.
- Group the objectives. Write down each same-color pair and look for areas where those two members could plausibly meet.
- Map stopping points. From each member’s current location, trace each legal direction to its first final stop. Repeat after accounting for any teleporter on the route.
- Find constrained pairs first. A pair with one obvious meeting point or a narrow approach should guide your early planning. Flexible pairs can wait.
- Reserve the meeting route. Keep the final corridor, junction, or landing area open for the pair that needs it.
- Separate movement from state changes. Decide which switch must be activated before a sign can be crossed, then determine who can reach that switch without damaging another pair’s route.
- Simulate the whole sequence. Check every planned move in order, including the post-teleport location and the new passability of any sign.
- Execute and reassess only after a stop. Because each command can travel a long distance, pause your plan when a member reaches a dead end or a new board state appears.
Use a route ledger
A small written ledger is useful on dense boards. For each member, record “start → trigger (if any) → Warp Panel (if any) → final stop.” For each switch, record which sign it opens. This prevents a common error: remembering that a switch matters but forgetting which route becomes available after it is activated.
Work backward from the meeting
When forward play produces too many branches, choose a likely meeting point and work backward. Ask which direction would make the first member stop there, then which direction would make the partner approach from a compatible side. If either route requires a sign to be open, place the switch activation earlier in the sequence. This backward check often reveals that a visually convenient center tile is not a valid meeting point because one member cannot stop there.
Warp Panels: treat teleportation as a route break
A Warp Panel teleports a member when that member steps onto it. The important question is not simply “where does this panel go?” but “what route continues from the destination, and where will the member finally stop?” A teleporter replaces an ordinary stretch of floor with a jump to another part of the board.

How to plan a Warp Panel
- Mark both ends. Record the entry panel and the destination before moving anyone.
- Trace after the jump. Continue the movement simulation from the destination; the member may keep traveling until a new dead end.
- Check pair order. Teleporting one member can place it beyond the approach needed by its matching member. Decide whether the warp is an early setup move or a final approach.
- Watch for accidental activation. A long slide toward another objective may cross a panel even when teleportation was not your immediate goal.
Warp Panels are especially dangerous near shared junctions. A member that disappears from one side of the board can free a corridor for another pair, but it can also arrive at the only stopping point your next move required. Include the post-teleport state in every plan rather than treating a warp as a shortcut you can evaluate later.
Switches and signs: solve the board’s state changes
Signs begin as barriers. The relevant switch must be activated before the sign becomes passable. This makes a switch a state change, not just another destination: activating it changes which routes exist for all subsequent moves.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →A three-question switch check
- Which sign does this switch control? Identify the newly opened route before pressing the switch.
- Who can reach the switch safely? Trace a complete route to the switch and verify that the member will stop in a useful place afterward.
- What becomes possible next? List the pair or pairs that now depend on the sign being open, and protect their approach.
Do not assume that the nearest member should activate a switch. The nearest route may send that member through a Warp Panel, consume a meeting junction, or leave its same-color partner without an entry path. Choose the switch activator based on the board state after activation, not on distance alone.
Ordering multiple state changes
When a puzzle contains more than one switch or sign, look for dependencies. If opening Sign A exposes the only route to Switch B, A must precede B. If opening one sign allows a member to occupy a junction needed to activate another switch, delay that move until the second state change is complete. Treat each activation as a new board and redraw the relevant routes.
How the difficulty rises
The release announcement explains that Warp Panels and signs are introduced as stages progress, with difficulty increasing as the game combines more gimmicks. The teaching pattern is therefore straightforward: first learn to forecast continuous movement, then account for one route-changing mechanic, and finally reason about combinations of movement, teleportation, and switch-controlled barriers.

| Launch structure | What is established | How to approach it |
|---|---|---|
| Regular stages | Five stages | Use these to build the core skills: route tracing, matching-color planning, and gimmick sequencing. |
| Extra stages | Three stages | Expect the same rule set to demand tighter ordering and more careful state management; individual layouts and puzzle counts are not specified. |
| Total content | 70 puzzles | The launch total is confirmed, but the exact number of puzzles assigned to each stage is not stated. |
The five regular and three extra stages make eight stages overall. No official level-by-level solution list or stage-name breakdown is published in the supplied material, so a guide that assigns particular gimmicks or puzzle numbers to named stages would be speculation.
The five ReGLOSS members
The launch announcement identifies five playable members:
- Otonose Kanade
- Ichijou Ririka
- Juufuutei Raden
- Todoroki Hajime
- Hiodoshi Ao
The documented puzzle rule is color pairing, not character-specific abilities. Plan around each member’s color and board position; do not assume that a particular character has a unique movement rule unless the game itself introduces one on a given board.
Step-by-step solving method
1. Establish the immutable geometry
Before moving, identify the walls, edges, and dead ends that determine where continuous movement can stop. These fixed features are the board’s skeleton. A member’s useful destinations are usually a small subset of all visible floor tiles.
2. Mark candidate meeting points
For each same-color pair, find stopping points reachable by both members under the current state. If only one common endpoint exists, protect it from unrelated traffic. If there are several, prefer the one that leaves the rest of the board least obstructed.

3. Solve the most restricted approach
Choose the pair whose members have the fewest viable routes. Solve its approach on paper first, but do not execute it until you know that required switches and warps will remain available.
4. Identify the first required state change
If a sign blocks a necessary corridor, trace who can activate its switch. If a Warp Panel is involved, calculate the member’s destination and final stop after teleportation. This establishes the earliest legal point at which the route can be used.
5. Build a dependency order
Write a short sequence such as “activate switch → cross sign → move partner into meeting area.” Add any prerequisite warp or clearance move before the switch. This is not a fixed solution; it is a dependency map that prevents you from executing a later step too early.
6. Test the sequence mentally
For each directional command, follow the member until its actual stopping point. Check whether the command crosses a switch, sign, or Warp Panel and update the board state immediately. If the predicted endpoint is impossible, revise before making the move.

7. Execute in deliberate chunks
Input one direction, let the member finish its continuous run, and then compare the result with your ledger. Avoid issuing a new command while you are still reasoning about the previous state. The puzzle is about route commitment, so deliberate pauses reduce accidental branches.

8. Reset the plan after a dead end
If a pair cannot meet, do not keep forcing later moves. Identify the first command that removed a necessary approach or consumed a junction, then rebuild from that point. A failed attempt is most useful when it tells you which stopping point or state transition was misidentified.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common mistakes and how to recover
- Stopping the simulation too soon. A member does not stop at the tile you are watching; it continues to the next dead end. Trace the entire run.
- Solving one member in isolation. Bringing one color to a target is not enough if its partner can no longer reach the same endpoint. Reserve the partner’s approach before moving.
- Opening a sign without a follow-up plan. The switch may make a route passable but also redirect later traffic. Note the new state and its dependencies before crossing.
- Ignoring the destination of a warp. A Warp Panel is not merely a visual shortcut. Recalculate the member’s route from the destination.
- Using a flexible pair too early. An easy pair may occupy a junction required by a constrained pair. Solve the narrowest route first unless the board’s state order says otherwise.
- Assuming every visible tile is a valid stopping point. Continuous movement means many tiles are traversed but never occupied as final positions.
- Repeating the same failed order. Change the first dependency, not just the final move. If the sign opened too late, move the switch activation earlier; if the switch activator ended badly, choose another member or clear its route first.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhat the game’s branding and release notes mean
Steam lists the developer as yado and the publisher under holo Indie. The store description identifies the title as part of the holo Indie derivative-game brand operated by CCMC Corporation and states that monetization of derivative games using COVER content is not permitted outside holo Indie. That information explains the game’s publishing context; it does not alter the movement rules or the puzzle objective.
Developer yado described the project in the launch statement as a 2D puzzle game that combines simple rules with a variety of gimmicks, with an English translation conveying that it is “a challenging 2D puzzle game packed with love for the five members.” The practical takeaway is consistent with the boards: the rule set stays compact while the number of interacting route conditions grows.
Controls and interface expectations
The documented control promise is directional movement, but a complete keyboard and controller mapping is not provided in the available official material. Use the control instructions shown by the Steam build you install rather than relying on an assumed key layout.
Likewise, interface details such as the exact presentation of Reset or Undo should be treated cautiously. A preview associated with Quest Board used work-in-progress screenshots, so menu placement and button labels may differ from the final interface. The puzzle logic itself does not depend on a particular reset presentation: when an attempt becomes unsalvageable, restart the board through the option available in your current build and return to your route ledger.
Who will enjoy ReGLOSS: CROSS?
This game is a good fit if you like puzzles where a small input set produces long-range consequences. The challenge comes from forecasting complete movement paths, preserving a future meeting point, and sequencing state changes. It is less suitable if you want direct, one-square-at-a-time control or an officially published solution for every level.
