Which phone is better for performance and gaming?
On the listed chipsets, the REDMI Turbo 5 has the stronger processor tier: its Dimensity 8500 Ultra is listed up to 3.4GHz, compared with the POVA 8 Pro’s Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G at up to 2.6GHz. TECNO also lists a P1 graphic chip and promotes gaming features. Those specifications do not establish how either phone performs in sustained gameplay, heat management or frame-rate consistency.
91mobiles reports AnTuTu scores of 2,135,669 for the Redmi and 792,798 for the POVA. TECNO’s own page gives a different POVA score, 1,010,744. The figures conflict, and the comparison material does not establish test conditions, so none should be treated as a definitive score or a prediction of everyday performance.

TECNO says the PUBG MOBILE 144FPS (Ultra Extreme) option was expected to become available through a future major game update by October 2026, with actual timing and availability dependent on the official update. That is a conditional claim, not a guarantee that the mode is available to every POVA 8 Pro owner. Sources: 91mobiles comparison and TECNO product page.
Which has the bigger screen?
The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G has the larger panel at 6.78 inches and the higher listed refresh rate, 144Hz. The REDMI Turbo 5 is smaller at 6.59 inches, with a 1.5K AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate. A larger display may suit video and games, while a smaller phone may be preferable if you value a more compact handset; the specifications alone do not establish which screen looks better.

Which has the bigger battery and faster charging?
The REDMI Turbo 5 lists a 7540mAh battery and 100W wired charging, compared with 6500mAh and 45W on the POVA 8 Pro 5G. Xiaomi also lists 27W wired reverse charging for the Redmi. Capacity and charging wattage do not establish actual battery life or charge time, which depend on use and conditions.
As a third-party snapshot, 91mobiles reports PC Mark battery-life results of 16 hours 5 minutes for the Redmi and 10 hours 40 minutes for the POVA. The comparison page does not establish the test conditions in the material available, so treat these as reported test figures rather than expected screen time or a guarantee for your use.

Are the cameras better on the Redmi or TECNO?
Both phones list a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide. Xiaomi identifies the Redmi’s main sensor as a Sony IMX882; the listed TECNO specification does not name its main sensor. The Redmi lists a higher-resolution front camera, 20MP versus 13MP, but megapixels and stabilization specifications do not prove which phone takes better photos. Image quality depends on the full camera system and processing, and the available sources do not provide a direct camera test.
Which should you choose?
- Choose the REDMI Turbo 5 if the listed processor, battery capacity, charging rate or Xiaomi’s stated update commitment matters most, and its current price and configuration suit you.
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if you prefer the larger 144Hz display or want to consider TECNO’s advertised gaming features, while verifying the exact variant, price and game-feature availability.
For either phone, compare the live price for the same country and equivalent storage configuration. The listed specifications and third-party figures are not a hands-on head-to-head test.
