Which is better for gaming and demanding apps?
The Redmi Turbo 5 is the more convincing choice on paper for demanding workloads. Its Dimensity 8500-Ultra platform, LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage are higher-tier listed components than the vivo’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, LPDDR4X and UFS 3.1 combination. That makes Redmi the sensible specification-led pick for gaming and multitasking, but it does not establish a particular frame rate, thermal behavior or real-world performance advantage; no independent test results are available here.
Which has the better screen and battery proposition?
The vivo T5 Pro 5G has the larger panel (6.83 inches versus 6.59) and higher listed refresh rate (144Hz versus 120Hz). That suits buyers who prioritize screen area and smoothness on compatible content. A 144Hz panel does not mean every app or game runs at 144 frames per second.

Capacity and charging wattage alone do not determine actual battery life or charging time; usage, settings and conditions matter, and no standardized direct endurance test is cited.

Both phones list a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilization. Redmi adds an 8MP ultrawide, making its rear-camera setup more versatile for wider scenes. vivo lists a 2MP secondary rear camera and a higher-resolution 32MP front camera, compared with Redmi’s 20MP front camera. These specifications describe resolution and modules, not comparative photo quality.

How should you weigh durability and software?
The comparison lists IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings for Redmi and IP68/IP69 for vivo. These are water- and dust-resistance classifications, not a promise that either phone is waterproof or that liquid damage will be covered by warranty. vivo says resistance may diminish with normal use and that liquid-ingress damage is not covered; see its official product specifications and qualifications.
The comparison describes Redmi as running Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and states a 4+6-year support figure; vivo’s official page lists Android 16 and OriginOS 6. A current, specific update-policy confirmation was not established for both models, so verify the applicable support terms with the manufacturer before treating longevity as a deciding advantage.

Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 if its current price fits your budget and you prioritize the stronger listed chipset, faster memory/storage standards, an ultrawide rear camera, or higher rated charging wattage.
- Choose the vivo T5 Pro 5G if you find the exact model below ₹40,000 and value its larger display, higher refresh-rate specification, larger battery, or higher-resolution front camera more than the Redmi’s platform and rear-camera advantages.
