Which phone has the better display?
Both manufacturers list a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. The vivo T5’s stated maximum refresh rate is 144 Hz, compared with up to 120 Hz for the Redmi. That gives vivo the higher listed refresh rate, but the figures alone do not establish which screen looks better; panel tuning, brightness, motion handling and individual preference also matter. The vivo display is described as curved, while Xiaomi’s India specification identifies an AMOLED panel.

Battery and charging: Redmi’s clearest specification advantage
Xiaomi India lists the Redmi with a 10,000 mAh typical battery, 100 W HyperCharge and 27 W wired reverse charging. vivo lists the T5 at 7,050 mAh typical capacity (6,850 mAh rated) with 44 W FlashCharge. Those are manufacturer-listed capacities and maximum charging rates; they do not guarantee a particular runtime or charging time in everyday use.

There is an important regional difference for the Redmi: Xiaomi’s global launch announcement gives 9,210 mAh, not the 10,000 mAh typical capacity on its India specification page. These figures refer to different market information and should not be treated as interchangeable. Xiaomi also described up to three days of use and six-year battery-health language in its global announcement; those are company claims under its stated conditions, not independent comparative test findings.
Camera features: what the published specifications establish
vivo specifies a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilisation, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a 32 MP front camera. It also lists 4K video recording at 30 frames per second on both the front and rear cameras. These are useful feature details, but megapixel counts and recording modes do not prove better photo or video quality.

The Xiaomi India source confirms the Redmi’s camera system broadly, but the available specification details do not support a complete camera-by-camera comparison here. Choose based on the features you need, and do not read the available specifications as a camera-quality verdict.
Performance and software support
The Redmi lists Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5; the vivo T5 lists MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 Turbo. The specification pages do not provide a controlled head-to-head performance comparison, so they are not enough to declare a speed or gaming winner. Real performance also depends on software, workload and configuration.

Xiaomi India lists HyperOS 3 with Android 16 for the Redmi, while vivo India lists OriginOS 6 for the T5. vivo states that outside Europe the T5 receives three Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches; it describes a separate policy for Europe. The cited Xiaomi information does not establish an equivalent update-support term, so a like-for-like support-duration comparison is not available.
Durability ratings are not waterproof guarantees
vivo lists IP68 and IP69 for the T5 and cautions that resistance is not permanent. Xiaomi’s August 27, 2026 global announcement lists IP66/IP68 for the Redmi, and Xiaomi warns that water resistance can degrade. These ratings refer to specified test conditions; neither phone should be described as waterproof or assumed safe from water damage in every situation.

India price difference: a third-party snapshot, not a live matched deal
A 91mobiles comparison listing reported ₹49,999 for the Redmi at Amazon and ₹34,999 for the vivo T5 at Flipkart, an indicated difference of ₹15,000. The figures are a third-party snapshot, not verified current official prices. The offers were listed at different retailers, and the comparison does not establish that the RAM and storage configurations match. Check same-day listings for the exact market variant, seller and configuration before deciding on price.

- Choose the Redmi if the India-listed 10,000 mAh typical battery, 100 W charging or wired reverse charging is the priority. Confirm that the phone being sold is the India variant and check its current price.
- Choose the vivo if you value its higher stated 144 Hz refresh rate or want the listed OIS main camera, ultra-wide camera, 32 MP front camera and front/rear 4K-at-30-fps recording.
- If price is the deciding factor, compare identical RAM and storage configurations at the same time, including retailer and seller. The reported ₹15,000 difference does not by itself establish a like-for-like saving.
Neither specification sheet establishes an overall winner: the better fit depends on whether battery and charging, display refresh rate, camera features, software support or current matched pricing matters most to you.
