The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G is the lower-priced option on the official India listings, while the vivo V70 5G adds a dedicated telephoto camera. Xiaomi lists the Redmi from ₹39,999; vivo lists the V70 at ₹59,999 for 8GB + 256GB. That ₹20,000 difference is indicative, not a like-for-like checkout comparison: the Redmi figure is a starting price, and the vivo figure names a specific configuration. Check current prices and exact variants before buying.
Price and configurations: what the listed figures mean
On Xiaomi India’s current listing, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G starts at ₹39,999. The vivo India Official Store lists the V70 8GB + 256GB at ₹59,999 (MRP ₹65,999). The displayed prices differ by ₹20,000, but they do not establish the price gap between every matching memory configuration or the final price after offers. Prices, stock and available variants can change.

For a fair purchase comparison, select the same RAM and storage tier where available, then compare the live checkout totals. Xiaomi’s listed options include 12GB + 512GB, while vivo’s listed options top out at 12GB + 256GB.
Display: Redmi is larger, but size is not the only difference
Xiaomi lists a 6.83-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display at 2772 × 1280, with a refresh rate up to 120Hz and 12-bit color. It also advertises 3,200-nit peak brightness. The vivo V70 has a 6.59-inch AMOLED display at 2750 × 1260. The Redmi gives you more screen area; the published specifications alone do not establish which looks better in everyday viewing or outdoors.

Performance and storage
The Redmi uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, an octa-core processor listed up to 2.7GHz. The V70 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The model names and published specifications do not provide a reliable real-world speed comparison: no comparable independent benchmark, sustained-performance test or thermal test is established here. Consider the chipsets a spec-sheet distinction rather than proof that one phone will feel faster in your apps.
Both phones offer 8GB or 12GB of listed RAM. Their storage choices differ: Redmi is listed with 256GB or 512GB, while vivo lists 256GB. Match the storage you actually need as well as the RAM tier when comparing prices.

Cameras: high-resolution main camera versus a dedicated telephoto
The rear camera layouts are the most consequential hardware distinction for different types of photography. Redmi has a 200MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Its main sensor is listed as 1/1.4 inch with an f/1.7 aperture. The V70 has a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera, a separate 50MP ZEISS telephoto camera and an 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide. Their front cameras are 32MP on Redmi and 50MP ZEISS on vivo.
- Choose based on framing needs: vivo’s dedicated telephoto camera gives it a separate camera for telephoto framing; Redmi’s listed rear setup has no dedicated telephoto camera.
- Do not treat megapixels as a quality score: a 200MP label does not, by itself, prove better detail or low-light results than a 50MP camera. The specifications do not establish comparative photo or video quality.
- For selfies: vivo lists a higher-resolution front camera, but the number alone does not establish which produces the more pleasing result.
Neither the official specifications nor the available comparison information establishes a controlled camera test, so choose by the camera types you are likely to use rather than assuming a winner from the headline megapixel count.

Battery and charging
Both manufacturers list a 6,500mAh typical-capacity battery. Xiaomi says a 100W charger is included in the Redmi box; vivo specifies 90W fast charging for the V70. These capacity and rated-power figures do not establish actual battery endurance or how long either phone takes to charge. Your results depend on use and charging conditions, and no comparable real-world test is established here.
Software, durability and useful extras
Xiaomi’s India specifications describe the Redmi as running HyperOS 3 on Android 15 and promise four years of OS updates plus six years of security updates. These are the manufacturer’s stated support terms; they are not a guarantee of an individual user’s experience. The reviewed V70 specifications do not state a comparable software-support duration, so a matching update-period comparison cannot be made.

Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for the Redmi, with a caveat that resistance testing is conducted under specific laboratory conditions. Treat those as manufacturer-listed ratings, not a promise that the phone is immune to damage in every exposure. The specifications cited here do not establish an equivalent V70 rating for a direct comparison.

Redmi’s listed connectivity includes dual nano-SIM or nano-SIM plus eSIM support (eSIM availability depends on region and carrier), Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. Xiaomi also lists a protective case and 100W adapter in the box. Verify eSIM compatibility with your carrier before relying on it.

Which phone should you buy?
Pick the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G if…
- The lower official starting price is your priority, subject to checking the price of the exact configuration you want.
- You prefer a larger 6.83-inch screen.
- You want the listed 200MP OIS main camera and do not need a dedicated telephoto camera.
- You value Xiaomi’s stated update schedule, listed resistance ratings, or the included charging adapter and case.
Pick the vivo V70 5G if…
- A dedicated 50MP telephoto camera matters more to you than the Redmi’s higher-resolution main-camera specification.
- You prefer the smaller 6.59-inch display.
- You want the listed 50MP front camera.
For most buyers focused on the published price and screen size, the Redmi is the more straightforward value candidate, provided its live price and chosen storage tier suit you. The V70’s clearest hardware reason to pay more is its dedicated telephoto camera. Neither choice can be declared a universal winner from specifications alone; compare current prices and make the camera layout, screen size and storage fit your priorities.
