Which phone has the better display?
Redmi has the larger panel: 6.83 inches and 2772 × 1280 pixels, compared with realme’s 6.57-inch, 2372 × 1080 screen. Both manufacturers specify AMOLED panels with refresh rates up to 120Hz. The Redmi’s size and resolution may suit video, reading and other uses where a larger viewing area matters; the specifications alone do not establish better brightness, color accuracy or outdoor legibility.

Camera differences: rear detail or selfie resolution?
The hardware priorities differ. Xiaomi specifies a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. realme specifies a 50MP main rear camera, a 2MP monochrome camera and a 50MP front camera. Redmi’s main-camera resolution and OIS are notable on paper; realme lists more pixels for the selfie camera. Megapixel counts do not by themselves predict image quality, and there is no matched independent camera test of these exact India models established here.
Battery, charging and everyday carry
realme lists a 7,000mAh typical battery (6,830mAh rated) and 60W wired charging. Xiaomi lists 6,580mAh and 45W charging. Those published capacities and charging ratings favor realme on paper, but they do not establish which phone lasts longer in use or how quickly either charges under matched conditions.

At about 183g, realme is also lighter than the Redmi’s 210g on the official figures. It is shorter and narrower, while the Redmi is thinner; the realme is listed as slightly thicker. The realme may be easier to carry for someone prioritizing weight and footprint, while the Redmi offers the larger screen.
Performance and software claims
The phones use different processors: MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra in the Redmi and Dimensity 6400 Turbo in the realme. 91mobiles reports Geekbench multi-core scores of 2,938 for the Redmi and 2,068 for the realme, but the comparison does not establish matched test conditions. Treat those as third-party-reported results, not a promise of the same difference in everyday use. There is no matched thermal or performance test of both exact India variants established here.

Xiaomi’s India product page lists HyperOS 3, says Android 15, and states four years of OS updates plus six years of security updates. realme’s specification page lists realme UI 7.0. realme also describes “72-Month Flunency Protection” as a realme-lab smoothness test: the company says the 8GB+256GB version passed 72 months and the 8GB+128GB version 60 months. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent long-term test.

Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings and describes testing under defined laboratory conditions. Its specifications warn against beach or pool use and say protection can deteriorate. realme also advertises IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K on its product page. Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G if you value the larger, higher-resolution display or prioritize its 200MP OIS main-camera specification and ultra-wide camera.
- Choose the realme 16 5G if you prioritize lower weight, a larger stated battery, higher wired charging power or a higher-resolution front-camera specification.
- Compare prices before paying if the choice comes down to value: the observed ₹4,491 spread is not a stable market gap, and the available listings do not prove a like-for-like offer.
These are specification-based distinctions rather than a verdict from independent matched testing. For battery endurance, camera quality, charging time or long-term durability, the manufacturer figures and available third-party comparison do not establish a controlled head-to-head result.
