This is an India-market comparison of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G and vivo T5x 5G. Redmi’s AMOLED display, ultrawide rear camera and stated software-update period stand out; vivo lists a larger battery, a higher-resolution selfie camera and UFS 3.1 storage. The better fit depends on which of those features matters to you. Prices are snapshots, not a confirmed like-for-like gap.

Specifications are from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G specifications page and the vivo T5x product listing. The marketplace price observations come from 91mobiles’ comparison page. Brightness figures use different categories—Xiaomi’s peak and typical figures versus vivo’s HBM peak—so they are not directly equivalent measurements.

What is the price difference in India?
At the time 91mobiles’ comparison page was accessed, it showed ₹28,999 for Redmi Note 15 and ₹27,099 for vivo T5x at Amazon, a displayed difference of ₹1,900 in vivo’s favour. That is a listing snapshot, not a guaranteed saving: the observations do not establish that the prices apply to matched RAM and storage variants or represent final checkout totals.
Separately, vivo’s official store displayed ₹34,999 for a selected 8GB+256GB T5x variant. That price does not create a clean comparison with the marketplace observations. Check current listings, the exact memory configuration, offers and checkout price before deciding which phone costs less.

Which display is better?
The screen sizes are almost identical: 6.77 inches on Redmi and 6.76 inches on vivo. Their clearest difference is panel type. Xiaomi lists an AMOLED panel, while vivo lists an LCD. If AMOLED is a priority, Redmi has the stronger specification fit; the figures alone do not establish how the phones compare in every viewing condition.
Both manufacturers list high brightness figures, but the categories differ. Xiaomi gives peak and typical brightness figures, while vivo gives HBM peak brightness. Treat those as manufacturer specifications rather than a direct brightness test between the phones.

How do the cameras compare?
Redmi lists a 108MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide; vivo lists a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera and a 2MP bokeh camera. The ultrawide is a distinct camera option on Redmi for framing wider scenes. vivo’s listed secondary camera is for bokeh, not an ultrawide view.

Battery capacity, charging and performance
vivo lists a 7200mAh battery, compared with Redmi’s 5520mAh typical capacity. This is a capacity difference, not proof of longer real-world runtime; usage, display settings, network conditions and software also affect endurance. Charging is listed at 44W for vivo and 45W for Redmi.
The chipsets are different: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in Redmi and Dimensity 7400 Turbo in vivo. The manufacturer specifications and comparison listing do not establish a controlled, independent benchmark between them. Xiaomi’s stated maximum CPU frequency is not, by itself, a verdict on everyday speed or gaming performance.

Storage, durability and software support
Storage configurations
Both phones offer an 8GB+256GB configuration, which is the most direct option to compare if you want the same listed RAM and storage. Redmi also has a hybrid SIM/microSD tray and supports storage expansion up to 1TB, according to Xiaomi. vivo’s listing specifies UFS 3.1 storage and two nano-SIM slots; it does not list microSD expansion.

Water and dust protection
Xiaomi’s specifications page marks Redmi IP65 + IP66 and includes laboratory-condition caveats. vivo advertises IP68 and IP69+ for T5x on its store listing. These are manufacturer-stated ratings, not a promise of unrestricted waterproofing; follow each maker’s conditions and avoid treating an IP code as permission to expose a phone to any liquid or environment.

Software and updates
Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3 and states “4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches” for Redmi Note 15. vivo identifies Origin OS 6.0 for T5x, but the consulted listing does not give an update-support duration to compare with Xiaomi’s commitment. That difference concerns what the pages state; it does not establish the phones’ eventual update delivery or experience.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose Redmi Note 15 5G if an AMOLED display, a listed ultrawide rear camera, microSD expansion or Xiaomi’s stated update period is most important to you.
- Choose vivo T5x 5G if the larger stated battery capacity, higher front-camera resolution or listed UFS 3.1 storage better matches your priorities.
- Compare current prices before buying if cost is decisive. Match RAM and storage first, then verify the retailer’s live price and final checkout amount.
These are specification-based trade-offs. They do not establish which phone takes better photos, lasts longer on a charge, runs faster in practice or delivers a better long-term ownership experience.
