Its key compromise is the display: Xiaomi lists 1600 × 720 resolution, while the Motorola G57 Power is described as FHD+ in Digit’s India comparison. For India buyers, the Realme C85 5G and Motorola G57 Power are the clearest alternatives; the right pick depends on local price, storage, and whether you value screen sharpness, charging speed or battery capacity most.
What matters most when comparing these budget 5G phones?
Start with your priorities rather than a single overall winner. The published specifications distinguish these phones most clearly on screen resolution and size, battery capacity, charging rate and chipset. They do not establish which model takes better photos, lasts longer in independent testing or performs more reliably in everyday use.

- Choose for display: Compare resolution and size, not refresh rate alone. A high refresh rate can make scrolling look smoother, but it does not make a 720p panel as detailed as FHD+.
- Choose for battery and charging: Capacity and charging rate are different measures. Also check whether the appropriate power adapter is included with the local phone.
- Choose for price and fit: Compare the exact storage variant, seller, warranty and return terms in your country. These phones’ configurations and prices vary by market and date.

When the Redmi 17C 5G makes sense
You want a large, smooth screen
Xiaomi lists a 6.9-inch display with up to 120Hz refresh, 1600 × 720 resolution, 660 nits typical brightness and 810 nits HBM. The size and refresh rate suit readers who prioritize a roomy screen and smooth scrolling, but the resolution is HD+ rather than FHD+. If small text, fine detail or sharper images matter to you, compare it in person with the Motorola G57 Power’s FHD+ panel before choosing.
You value the headphone jack and expandable storage
Xiaomi’s Singapore specifications list a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM plus microSD support, expansion up to 1TB, Bluetooth 5.4 and FM radio through the headphone jack. The listed Singapore configurations are 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB, but memory and storage options vary by country. Check the exact local SKU rather than assuming the same configuration is sold everywhere.

You want 5G and a 6000mAh battery
Xiaomi lists a 6000mAh typical-capacity battery and the MediaTek Dimensity 6300. Those published specifications make the phone a plausible budget 5G option, but they are not proof of a particular battery runtime or speed in daily use. Network bands also vary by variant: confirm that the exact model supports your carrier’s 5G bands before buying.

Consider the Realme C85 5G for higher listed charging speed
In Digit’s India comparison, the Realme shares the Redmi’s Dimensity 6300 and HD+ display category, while offering a listed 7000mAh battery and 45W charging. Digit lists its display as 6.8 inches and up to 144Hz. Those specifications may appeal if battery capacity and charging rate matter to you; they do not establish real-world endurance or charging time. Check the local package for its included adapter and compare the exact sale price and storage variant.

Consider the Motorola G57 Power if screen detail is your priority
Digit describes the Motorola’s 6.72-inch display as FHD+ at 120Hz, making it the clearest published alternative here if you want more display resolution than the Redmi’s 1600 × 720 panel. Digit also lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 7000mAh battery and 33W charging. Those are specification differences, not evidence that it is faster or lasts longer under comparable real-world conditions.
Check the Redmi’s regional details before paying
Confirm the adapter and box contents
The Redmi supports 33W charging, but the adapter supplied varies by market. Xiaomi Singapore says the box includes a 15W adapter and that a compatible 33W adapter is sold separately. Xiaomi India product copy says a charger is included with 33W charging. Confirm the exact local package and adapter rating for the SKU you are buying; do not infer box contents from a listing for another country.

Read the water-resistance limits
Xiaomi gives the phone an IP64 dust- and splash-resistance rating under stated test conditions. That does not mean it can be immersed in water. Xiaomi also warns that protection can deteriorate through daily wear, so treat the rating as limited resistance rather than waterproofing.

Check software support and market-specific features
Xiaomi India product copy describes HyperOS 3, Android 16, two OS upgrades and four years of security updates. Treat that as a claim for the India product listing, and verify the applicable software and update policy for the local model you are considering. Xiaomi says network bands, NFC availability, software features, configurations and in-box contents can differ by market. Xiaomi’s India product page and Singapore specifications page give market-specific details.

Interpret camera specifications cautiously
Xiaomi Singapore lists a 50MP rear main camera with an auxiliary lens and an 8MP front camera; both front and rear video are listed up to 1080p at 30fps. Megapixel counts and recording limits describe hardware, not how photos compare in different lighting. Look for independent image samples of the exact models if camera quality is a deciding factor.

Prices should be treated as dated, market-specific snapshots. Cinco Días / Smartlife reported a Spain price of €239.99 on August 27, 2026. That is separate from Digit’s India pricing and does not predict today’s price, local configuration or availability in another country. Quick Recap
A practical buying checklist
- Compare the local price and storage: Match like-for-like configurations and check that the seller is authorized or otherwise offers a warranty you are willing to rely on.
- Decide whether HD+ is enough: If screen sharpness matters, compare the Redmi’s 1600 × 720 panel with the Motorola’s FHD+ display in person or through reliable independent reviews.
- Check charging package details: Confirm the included adapter’s wattage and the cost of a compatible faster adapter if needed.
- Verify carrier compatibility: Check the phone’s regional 5G bands against your carrier, and confirm NFC availability if you need contactless payments.
- Compare software terms: Verify the OS version and update commitment for the exact market variant rather than relying on another country’s product page.
- Look for independent evidence on cameras and endurance: Manufacturer specifications and launch comparisons do not settle real-world photo quality or battery life.
