Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G is the stronger paper choice for a sharper display, faster charging, higher stated camera resolution and a longer officially stated update window. The realme C83 5G was ₹1,500 cheaper in 91mobiles’ displayed Amazon price snapshot, and its listed PCMark battery result was longer. Both list a 7,000mAh typical battery and refresh rates up to 144Hz, so the right pick depends on what matters most—and on the current price of the exact storage variant.
Redmi 15 vs realme C83 5G: key specs
| Feature | Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G | realme C83 5G | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.9-inch IPS LCD; FHD+ (2340 × 1080); up to 144Hz; Xiaomi lists 850 nits peak brightness | 6.8-inch LCD; HD+ (1570 × 720); up to 144Hz; realme lists 700 nits typical and 900 nits HBM | Both list a high maximum refresh rate, but the Redmi has substantially more pixels. Brightness figures use different labels and conditions, so they are not a direct like-for-like comparison. |
| Chipset | Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 | MediaTek Dimensity 6300 | These are different platforms; the names alone do not establish everyday speed. |
| Memory and storage | 6GB RAM + 128GB or 8GB RAM + 256GB; LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 | 4GB or 6GB RAM; 64GB or 128GB storage; LPDDR4X | The Redmi has the higher listed maximum configuration. Check the exact variant and price before comparing. |
| Rear and front cameras | 50MP rear; 8MP front | 13MP rear; 5MP front | The Redmi lists higher resolution, but megapixels alone do not determine photo quality. |
| Battery and charging | 7,000mAh typical; 33W charging; 18W reverse charging | 7,000mAh typical; maximum 15W charging | Both list the same typical capacity; the Redmi has faster stated wired charging. |
| Software and update policy | HyperOS 2 based on Android 15; Xiaomi states two years of OS updates and four years of security updates | realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16; 91mobiles lists one year of OS updates and two years of security updates | The Redmi’s duration is stated on Xiaomi’s official page. The C83 durations are reported by 91mobiles, not by the realme specification page reviewed. |
| Dimensions, weight and protection | 168.48 × 80.45 × 8.40 mm; 217g; IP64 | 166.3 × 78.1 × 8.4 mm; about 212g; no IP rating appears in the reviewed specification lines | The Redmi has an explicit IP64 rating. The absence of a rating in the reviewed C83 lines does not establish that it has no water resistance. |

Price difference in India
91mobiles displayed Amazon prices of ₹21,499 for the Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G and ₹19,999 for the realme C83 5G, making the C83 ₹1,500 cheaper in that comparison snapshot. These are not guaranteed live prices. Check current listings and compare the same RAM and storage configuration: the two phones’ listed variant ranges differ, and a price comparison between unlike configurations can be misleading. Which phone has the better display?
The Redmi 15 has the clearer advantage on resolution: its 6.9-inch FHD+ panel has 2340 × 1080 pixels, compared with the C83’s 6.8-inch HD+ panel at 1570 × 720. That difference can make text and fine details look sharper. Both phones list refresh rates up to 144Hz, but refresh rate does not make the panels equally sharp.

The brightness figures need care: Xiaomi lists 850 nits peak brightness, while realme lists 700 nits typical and 900 nits HBM. Those labels describe different measurement conditions, so they do not prove which screen will look brighter in every situation.
Battery, charging and benchmark results
Capacity and charging
Both manufacturers list a 7,000mAh typical battery. The Redmi supports 33W charging and 18W reverse charging; realme lists maximum 15W charging for the C83. On specifications alone, the Redmi should be the more convenient option when you need to replenish the battery faster. Actual charging time can depend on conditions and the charger used.

What the comparison benchmarks show
91mobiles reports an AnTuTu score of 463,289 for the Redmi 15 and 561,364 for the C83. Its listed Geekbench multi-core results go the other way: 2,262 for the Redmi and 1,978 for the C83. The comparison also reports PCMark battery results of 14 hours 54 minutes for the Redmi and 17 hours 9 minutes for the C83.
These are results reported by 91mobiles, not guarantees for every unit, software version or usage pattern. Taken together, they do not establish one overall performance winner or predict how long either phone will last for a particular buyer. Treat them as separate test results rather than a substitute for matching your own workload to the phone.

Cameras: higher resolution is not the whole story
The Redmi lists a 50MP rear camera and 8MP front camera; the C83 lists 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. That gives the Redmi higher stated resolution on both cameras, but megapixel counts alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos. The available specifications do not provide a like-for-like camera-quality test, so choose based on the resolution figures only if that specification itself matters to you.

Xiaomi’s official specification page lists HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 and states two years of OS updates plus four years of security updates for the Redmi 15. The C83’s realme India specifications page lists realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16. Separately, 91mobiles lists one year of OS updates and two years of security updates for the C83; that duration is a third-party listing, not an update commitment stated on the reviewed realme specifications page.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Redmi 15 5G if
- You want the sharper FHD+ display.
- You value its faster listed 33W charging and 18W reverse charging.
- You want higher stated rear and front camera resolution, while recognizing that resolution is not a photo-quality verdict.
- You want the update duration Xiaomi states on its official page.
- You need a listed configuration with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Choose the realme C83 5G if
- It remains less expensive than the Redmi at the time you buy, after matching RAM and storage.
- You are comfortable with an HD+ panel and maximum 15W charging.
- The longer PCMark battery result reported by 91mobiles is useful context, but not a promise of your own battery life.
- You prefer its listed configuration or Android 16-based realme UI 7.0.
For current specifications, consult the Redmi 15 5G official page and C83 5G official page; for the reported prices and benchmark results, consult 91mobiles’ comparison.
