What Reclamation is
Reclamation is a semi-expert Minecraft modpack by ACCBDD, built for Minecraft 1.20.1. Its published files include Forge and NeoForge distributions, and the project is categorized around Magic, Quests, and Hardcore. The central premise is stated plainly in the official description: “You wake up in a barren, dead world.” The world is stripped of normal resources and life, leaving twisted or mutated remnants rather than a conventional overworld.

This is not a normal survival pack with extra dimensions added to an otherwise familiar game. The pack changes recipes, gates systems, and makes its mods interact with one another. The public description also states, “No ores lie beneath the surface.” That single rule changes the opening hour: mining is exploration, not your main source of progression. You must establish production chains that create or recover materials through processing, agriculture, automation, magic, and bees.

The CurseForge page lists more than 500 handwritten quests. They provide objectives, lore, and the intended gates, so the questbook is the best authority for what your particular release expects next. Reclamation 2.3.2 is listed for Minecraft 1.20.1. The project page showed 854,428 total downloads on October 18, 2026; that is a dated download counter, not a permanent measure of the pack’s audience.
How the restoration loop works
Reclamation’s progression is best understood as a chain of dependencies rather than a list of independent mods. Early resources support the first machines or rituals; those systems produce materials needed to unlock more capable systems; later agriculture and biological production make the world sustainable. The exact quest order can change with pack updates, so use the in-game questbook for dependency details rather than treating the following phases as a fixed walkthrough.

1. Stabilize dirt, food, and shelter
The opening is constrained by scarce dirt and a lack of ordinary ores. Preserve every starting block, seed, and useful drop until a quest or recipe gives you a repeatable source. Establish a safe work area before expanding: hostile or mutated life can make a careless trip expensive, and replacing early terrain may be difficult. Your initial goal is not a large base; it is a reliable minimum of food, storage, and renewable building material.
- Read the first quest tabs before crafting unfamiliar items. In a heavily customized pack, a recipe that looks familiar may be gated or replaced.
- Separate irreplaceable early materials from expendable blocks. Keep a small reserve instead of feeding every item into the first machine or ritual.
- Record which outputs are renewable. A temporary drop can solve one quest but cannot support a long-term multiplayer base.
2. Replace mining with processing
Because ordinary ore veins are absent, your first durable “ore progression” comes from processing and alternative generation. The pack’s description specifically points to processing and automation, so think in terms of inputs, transformations, and outputs: identify what a quest requires, find the system that can create or refine it, then automate the chain before moving to the next gate.
Do not assume that a familiar vanilla recipe, machine recipe, or mod tutorial applies unchanged. Reclamation deliberately customizes recipes and interactions. The questbook’s recipe view and the recipe browser available in your installed profile are more reliable than a generic guide written for an unmodified version of one of the included mods.

3. Build dependable power and machinery
Once basic materials are under control, the pack’s technology and magic systems become production infrastructure. Mekanism represents a major technology route; Embers Rekindled supplies a distinct machinery and energy style; Nature’s Aura ties progress to a restorative magical environment. Treat these as complementary paths that the pack may connect through gates, not as interchangeable machines that all perform the same task.

Automation matters more than a single high-output setup. A system that can run unattended, buffer inputs, and stop safely when full is more valuable than a fast machine that consumes your only scarce ingredient. In multiplayer, document inputs and outputs in signs or a shared storage room so one player does not accidentally remove the feedstock another progression line needs.
4. Add magic where technology is gated
Enchanted: Witchcraft and Blood Magic are named parts of Reclamation’s progression. Their presence means that some solutions are intentionally magical rather than purely mechanical. Expect rituals, resources, or infrastructure from one route to unlock options in another, but consult the questbook for the actual requirements in version 2.3.2. The public listing establishes the systems included, not every dependency between their quests.
5. Turn agriculture and bees into resource infrastructure
Mystical Agriculture, AgriCraft, and Complicated Bees are among the pack’s named resource-generation routes. Their strategic role is to move you beyond scavenging: crops, breeding, and engineered production can become predictable sources of materials that cannot be mined in the normal way. Begin these systems when the questbook makes their inputs available, and reserve space for expansion; biological production tends to need more plots, breeding areas, or processing buffers as the number of required materials grows.
6. Restore a living, automated base
Late progression is not simply “get better armor.” It is the point at which your settlement can repeatedly produce materials, food, power, and magical resources without exhausting the world. A restored base should have clear input storage, processing areas, renewable farms, and a safety plan for failures. That infrastructure is especially important when several players are completing different quest branches at the same time.

How to get ores when there are no ores
There is no conventional underground ore layer to mine in Reclamation. The intended answer is to create a substitute supply chain. The pack’s official description names three broad tools—processing, automation, and alternative resource generation—and identifies several mods that participate in that progression.

The practical rule is simple: when a quest asks for a material that cannot be mined, look for the recipe’s first renewable input rather than searching farther underground. If a chain seems impossible, check whether a previous quest unlocks a machine, seed, bee, ritual, or processing step. The pack is intentionally semi-expert; an apparent dead end is often a gate, not a missing ore vein.
Installing Reclamation 2.3.2
The documented installation path is CurseForge’s Minecraft profile importer. The published Reclamation 2.3.2 files target Minecraft 1.20.1 and are available in Forge and NeoForge distributions. Pick one loader and keep it consistent with the file you import.
- Install and open the CurseForge launcher, then select Minecraft.
- Open the My Modpacks tab and choose the import option described by the Reclamation project.
- Select the Reclamation profile or archive you downloaded. Confirm that the profile is for Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Choose the loader that matches the published file you intend to use: Forge or NeoForge. Do not mix a Forge profile with a NeoForge distribution.
- Let CurseForge finish downloading the pack’s files, then launch the imported profile once without changing its mods or configuration.
- Open the in-game questbook before creating a long-term world. It establishes the current release’s gates and gives you the intended first objectives.
The documented sources specifically cover CurseForge import and Forge/NeoForge files. They do not establish that every third-party launcher supports this pack, so an alternate launcher should only be used if it can reproduce the same Minecraft 1.20.1 profile, loader, mods, and configuration.
Playing Reclamation with friends
Reclamation supports a straightforward client/server arrangement through its separate server artifact. The files listing includes Reclamation-Server-2.3.2-hotfix.zip, a server-pack ZIP intended for multiplayer deployment.

- Choose one exact Reclamation release for the group. For the documented release, that is Reclamation 2.3.2 on Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Have every player install the same client release and the same loader family. A client on a different pack version can fail to connect even when the Minecraft version appears identical.
- Give the host the matching Reclamation-Server-2.3.2-hotfix.zip. The host should deploy the ZIP using the server host’s normal Forge 1.20.1 procedure, preserving the pack’s files and configuration.
- Start the server once, complete any first-run setup required by the server software, and stop it cleanly before editing world or configuration files.
- Test with one player before inviting the whole group. Confirm that the client can join, the questbook loads, and the world generates with Reclamation’s intended starting conditions.
- Keep a backup of the world and the server’s configuration before updating. If the pack release changes, update the clients and server together rather than one at a time.
Hosting-provider compatibility and pricing are not established by the project information. If you use a paid host, verify in advance that it supports Forge 1.20.1 and accepts this server-pack ZIP; do not assume that a generic modded-Minecraft plan will install it correctly.
Co-op practices that prevent progression conflicts
- Assign responsibility for scarce early materials. One player consuming all dirt, seeds, or first-generation products can block everyone else’s quests.
- Use a shared “current gates” board listing the next machine, crop, bee, or ritual each branch needs.
- Keep duplicate copies of quest-critical outputs when they are difficult to reproduce. This avoids a single accidental use halting the group’s progression.
- Separate experimental machines from the production line. A failed test should not drain the only input needed by another player’s quest.
- Agree on a backup schedule before opening new dimensions or making large recipe changes. Recovery is easier than reconstructing a shared production chain.
Reclamation versus Reclamation – Hardcore Edition
The Hardcore Edition is a separate Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge variant, not merely a difficulty toggle for the original profile. Its official page describes thirst and temperature mechanics and says that Mystical Agriculture is removed. That changes both survival pressure and the available resource-generation routes.

Choose the standard edition if you want Mystical Agriculture available as part of your long-term resource plan or if your group prefers to learn the pack’s gates without thirst and temperature management. Choose Hardcore when managing those additional survival systems and replacing Mystical Agriculture with Theurgy, bees, or other routes is part of the challenge you want. Do not let clients from the two editions join the same world; they are separate profiles with different content.
Costs, files, and what you need
Reclamation itself is a downloadable digital modpack, and the documented client and server files do not require a separate physical product. This guide identifies no paid add-on that is necessary to follow the pack. You need a Minecraft installation capable of running the 1.20.1 profile, a compatible Forge or NeoForge client for the standard edition, and enough local or hosted server capacity for the number of players you plan to run; the project information does not publish a universal hardware minimum.

Troubleshooting common failures
The launcher says the profile is incompatible
Check all three identifiers rather than only the Minecraft number: Reclamation release, Minecraft 1.20.1, and loader family. A Forge client and NeoForge client are not interchangeable just because both display 1.20.1. Re-import the profile and select the loader matching the file you downloaded.
The client cannot connect to the server
Compare the complete pack version and loader on both sides. The host should be using the matching server ZIP, while each player uses the corresponding client release. Remove experimental client-only changes, then test with a clean imported profile. If the server was updated, update every client before attempting another connection.

The world seems to have normal ores
Verify that you launched the Reclamation profile rather than a vanilla or unrelated modded profile. The pack’s intended world begins without normal underground ores. Generate a fresh test world after confirming the profile and loader; do not judge a pre-existing world created under another configuration.
A recipe or tutorial does not work
Reclamation changes recipes and gates systems. Open the current questbook entry and the installed profile’s recipe browser, then check whether an earlier quest unlocks the item or machine. A tutorial for an unmodified version of Mekanism, Embers Rekindled, Blood Magic, or another included mod may describe a recipe that this pack intentionally replaced.
The group ran out of a scarce material
Stop spending the remaining supply and identify the earliest renewable route in the questbook. Reclamation expects players to move from one-time drops to processing, crops, bees, magic, or automation. Restore from a recent backup if the missing item was consumed before its replacement chain was unlocked.
The server starts, but the progression feels wrong
Confirm that the server was built from the Reclamation server-pack ZIP rather than a generic Forge server with manually added mods. The pack’s recipe changes, gates, and world rules depend on its complete configuration. A partial installation can look playable while silently removing the intended restoration progression.

Reclamation is a strong fit if you want Minecraft progression to feel like a project with a purpose. Its defining challenge is not simply stronger enemies or a larger mod list; it is the need to replace mining with designed production chains. More than 500 handwritten quests give a group shared direction, while Mystical Agriculture, AgriCraft, Complicated Bees, Mekanism, Embers Rekindled, Nature’s Aura, Enchanted: Witchcraft, and Blood Magic offer distinct ways to rebuild capability.
It is a poor fit for a casual drop-in server where players expect vanilla recipes and immediate access to iron, diamonds, and conventional farms. You will spend time reading quest text, protecting scarce inputs, and debugging version or recipe mismatches. That deliberate friction is the point: by the time a material becomes routine, your settlement has genuinely restored another part of the world’s production system.
