Xiaomi lists a 6.99-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 and a refresh rate up to 120Hz. Its larger screen and OLED technology make it the more natural pick if you prioritize screen size and display type.

Choose the realme for a higher listed refresh rate
realme lists a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate up to 144Hz. That higher ceiling may appeal if smooth scrolling is a priority, but refresh rate alone does not establish brightness, color accuracy or sustained performance. The realme panel is LCD, not OLED.

Performance: what the chipset and benchmark figures establish
The comparison page identifies the P4x’s Dimensity 7400 Ultra at up to 2.6GHz and the REDMI’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 at up to 2.3GHz. These clock-speed and model listings are not a complete measure of everyday speed. The listed storage types favor the realme on paper: UFS 3.1 versus UFS 2.2, though actual experience also depends on configuration and workload.
Benchmark claims are not consistent enough for a definitive score-based verdict. 91mobiles’ page, inspected on 2026-10-05, displays AnTuTu figures of 974,831 for the realme and 622,466 for the Xiaomi. realme’s own product page advertises 780,000+ for the P4x. The figures are not reconciled by a shared test version, configuration or method, so they should not be read as a verified apples-to-apples result.
Battery capacity, endurance and charging
Xiaomi lists an 8,000mAh typical battery, compared with 7,000mAh on realme’s product page. Both are listed with 45W wired charging. Xiaomi additionally lists 22.5W wired reverse charging.

In 91mobiles’ PCMark battery results, the P4x is listed at 17 hours 38 minutes and the REDMI at 16 hours 14 minutes; that test result favors realme despite its lower stated capacity, and test conditions may differ from personal use. Xiaomi’s claim of “Up to 3+ days on a single charge” is specifically for light use based on Xiaomi internal lab testing; Xiaomi says actual results vary.

Both phones are listed with a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Those matching megapixel counts do not establish equal image quality, and the available specifications do not provide a controlled camera comparison.
Storage listings vary by source and configuration. 91mobiles compares 128GB models for both phones and lists UFS 3.1 for realme against UFS 2.2 for Xiaomi. Xiaomi’s official page lists 128GB storage with 6GB or 8GB RAM. realme’s inspected page promotes a 256GB ROM version with 8GB physical RAM and dynamic RAM expansion. Check the seller’s exact RAM/storage configuration rather than assuming every listing matches the comparison page.
Software support and included items
Xiaomi India states that the REDMI Note 17 5G will receive four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The inspected realme product page does not state a comparable support duration, so the available evidence cannot establish which phone will receive longer support.

Price difference in India: use the snapshot as a reference, not a quote
When 91mobiles’ comparison page was inspected on 2026-10-05, it displayed Amazon India reference prices of ₹21,939 for the realme P4x 5G and ₹27,999 for the REDMI Note 17 5G—a snapshot difference of ₹6,060. These are volatile retailer references, not guaranteed checkout prices or official launch prices. The cheaper option can change with offers and variant selection.
Before buying, compare the same RAM and storage capacity, seller, delivery terms and applicable offer on the live listing. A 128GB comparison is not a like-for-like price comparison if one listing is the realme 256GB version.
Which one should you buy?
Buy the realme P4x 5G if
- You want a 144Hz display and do not require OLED.
- You value its listed UFS 3.1 storage and find the exact configuration at a lower live price.
- You are comfortable making a decision without an established comparable software-support duration.
Buy the Xiaomi REDMI Note 17 5G if
- You prefer the larger 6.99-inch OLED screen over the realme’s higher refresh-rate ceiling.
- You prioritize its higher stated battery capacity or 22.5W wired reverse charging.
- You want the official commitment of four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
For a final value decision, prioritize the features you will use and compare the same memory configuration at the current checkout price. The price snapshot and non-aligned benchmark figures are not reliable reasons by themselves to choose one phone.
