The realme P3 Ultra is the stronger phone on paper. It has the higher-tier chipset, a sharper curved display, an ultrawide camera next to its main camera, a 12GB RAM option and 80W charging. The realme P4R answers with a much larger battery, 8000mAh against the P3 Ultra’s 6000mAh typical rating, and a lower reported price in India. Which phone makes sense depends on whether the P3 Ultra’s upgrades are worth the price gap to you. That gap only means something when both phones are compared at the same RAM and storage.

What the differences mean in daily use
Display: sharpness versus refresh rate
The P3 Ultra’s panel has far more pixels than the P4R’s, so text, photos and video look crisper on it, and the curved edges give it a different feel in the hand. The P4R’s advertised ceiling of 144Hz is higher than the P3 Ultra’s 120Hz, but refresh rate controls how smooth motion looks, not how fine the image is. A 144Hz screen with fewer pixels will not look sharper than a 120Hz screen with more. The P4R’s higher ceiling also applies only when the content and power mode allow it, so the figure is a maximum rather than a constant. The sources describe the P4R panel as LCD and do not state the P3 Ultra’s panel type.
Performance and memory headroom
The Dimensity 8350 Ultra is the higher-tier platform, and the P3 Ultra also offers the larger memory options. In practice, that means more room for heavy apps, games and background multitasking over several years of use, especially at 12GB. The P4R’s 4GB and 6GB configurations are a more modest setup. This article does not include benchmark scores or head-to-head speed tests, because the sources used for it do not provide a matched test. The chip tier tells you where each phone sits, not how fast it will feel in your hands.

Battery and charging
The P4R has about a third more rated battery capacity than the P3 Ultra (8000mAh against 6000mAh typical). Capacity is only one part of endurance, since the screen, processor and software all draw power. Gadgets 360’s review of the P4R describes good two-day use, and that is the reviewer’s own experience, not a general measure for every user. The P3 Ultra’s charging advantage is clearer on paper: 80W against 45W. Its 80W adapter comes in the box, while the sources used do not confirm whether the P4R includes a charger, so check the listing you buy from.
Cameras
The P3 Ultra has the more complete camera setup: an OIS-stabilised main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide that the P4R does not list. The P4R’s single 50MP rear camera covers the main-shot role. Megapixel counts do not decide image quality, and the P3 Ultra’s 16MP front camera is not automatically better than the P4R’s 8MP selfie camera in practice. Review coverage of the P4R describes its low-light performance as weak, so if you shoot a lot at night, that is the single camera point to weigh most carefully.

Price difference: what the figures show and what they do not
The figures in circulation
Smartprix’s comparison page lists the P3 Ultra at ₹31,999 and the P4R at ₹19,997, and says its product details were last updated on September 9, 2026. Gadgets 360 lists a P4R 4GB/128GB Titanium Glare variant at ₹20,199 on a page updated October 7, 2026. These are listing observations for India, not official launch prices or guaranteed offers, and they change without notice.
Why the gap is not a clean like-for-like comparison
The headline difference on the Smartprix snapshot is about ₹12,000, but the page does not confirm which P3 Ultra configuration that price refers to, and the P4R figure may not match it. The P4R figures are for 4GB or 6GB memory, while the P3 Ultra comes in 8GB or 12GB. A fair comparison pairs a P4R configuration with a P3 Ultra configuration that has the same RAM and storage, and the sources used do not provide a matched price for every pairing. Compare the price of the same storage and memory on the same day, from the same market.

How to check the price before you buy
- Open realme’s India product page for each phone and note the price shown for the exact RAM, storage and colour you are considering.
- Pick matching configurations, such as P3 Ultra 8GB/128GB against P4R 4GB/128GB, or 12GB/256GB against 6GB/256GB, and compare only those pairs.
- Check at least two retailers for each phone. Amazon India has been a listing source for the P4R, but prices differ by seller and by day.
- Confirm the date of every price you record, along with any bank or exchange offer and whether it applies to your card or device.
- Check that the seller is authorised and that the warranty is listed as India-valid before you pay.
Which phone fits your priorities
- Choose the P3 Ultra if a sharper screen, the higher-tier processor, the 12GB option, an ultrawide camera, OIS on the main camera or faster charging matters more to you than saving money.
- Choose the P4R if a lower India price and a much larger rated battery matter more, and you can accept a lower-resolution screen, a more modest chip and a simpler camera setup.
- Judge the price on matched configurations, not on the headline figures. A P4R price on a 4GB/128GB variant says little about a P3 Ultra price on a different memory setup.
