The Realme Narzo N55 is worth considering only if you find a well-supported unit at a low current price and want a large, sharp 90Hz screen with fast charging. Its 2023-era Helio G88 platform is adequate for everyday use, but demanding games, low-light photos, stabilized video, and a cleaner software experience are better reasons to look elsewhere. The launch prices below are historical, not current offers.
What the Narzo N55 offers
Realme’s India product page lists the Narzo N55 with a 6.72-inch FHD+ display running at up to 90Hz, a MediaTek Helio G88 processor, a 64MP rear camera, and a 5000mAh typical-capacity battery. The phone launched in India in April 2023. These are manufacturer specifications; Realme notes that specifications can vary with suppliers and that measurements may vary with test conditions.

- Memory and storage: Configurations include 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. The 6GB model can add up to 6GB of dynamic RAM, according to Realme; this uses storage for virtual expansion and is not equivalent to having that much additional physical RAM.
- Storage expansion: Realme specifies a dedicated microSD card slot alongside dual SIM support.
- Software and extras: The product page describes Android 13 as the software basis, Mini Capsule availability after an OTA update, NFC, and a 200% UltraBoom speaker mode. These are listed features, not a guarantee of current software support or feature availability on every unit.
What stands out in everyday use
Large, high-refresh display
The 6.72-inch FHD+ 90Hz panel is the N55’s strongest everyday feature on paper. In its review, 91mobiles found the screen good for the phone’s price context. The larger viewing area and higher refresh rate suit browsing, reading, and video better than a basic low-resolution panel, though the review does not establish how the display compares with phones available at today’s prices.
Fast charging and a substantial battery
Realme specifies a 5000mAh typical battery and 33W SUPERVOOC charging. The manufacturer claims a 50% charge in 29 minutes under its lab conditions and cautions that actual results vary with testing conditions and battery wear. That figure should not be treated as a guaranteed time for every charger, unit, or battery condition.
#1 Best Overall
Reviewers’ charging observations differ: 91mobiles reported a full charge in under two hours, while TechLekh reported just over an hour from empty to full on its test phone. These are individual review results, not promised charging times. 91mobiles also reported getting through a full day of regular use in its own testing; battery life will depend on usage and the condition of an older device.
Where the compromises show
Performance is for routine tasks, not heavy gaming
The Helio G88 and up to 6GB of physical RAM place the N55 in budget-phone territory. 91mobiles found routine use satisfactory but reported strain in demanding games. The 6GB dynamic RAM option does not change the underlying processor or make the phone equivalent to a model with more physical memory. If gaming performance matters, check current hands-on tests of the specific alternatives you are considering rather than relying on the N55’s launch-era positioning.

- Helio G96 Gaming Processor delivers powerful performance for gaming
- 6.6-inch FHD+ 120Hz Ultra Smooth Display provides an immersive viewing experience
- 33W Dart Charge provides ultrafast charging to 5000mAh battery
- AI Triple Camera system with 50MP main lens captures sharp, detailed photos
- realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 offers a smooth user interface
Camera quality depends on the conditions
The 64MP rear-camera resolution is a specification, not a measure of consistent image quality. 91mobiles found daylight photos capable of capturing detail, but noted that colors could look oversaturated and indoor or low-light images could be grainy. TechLekh also liked the daylight camera, while criticizing the lack of an ultrawide camera and video stabilization. The review observations are specific to those reviewers’ test periods; they do not establish results for every scene or unit.

Software polish and other review complaints
Both review sources criticized software experience, including bloatware and ads. TechLekh summarized its view this way: “The software is really where you notice how this is a budget phone.” That is the reviewer’s opinion, not a manufacturer statement. 91mobiles also reported inconsistent fingerprint unlocking and mediocre speaker quality. Individual experiences can vary, but these drawbacks matter if you expect a clean interface, dependable biometric unlocking, or strong built-in audio.

What it cost at launch—and how to judge it now
When the Narzo N55 launched in India, Gadgets 360 reported prices of ₹10,999 for 4GB/64GB and ₹12,999 for 6GB/128GB on 12 April 2023. Those are historical launch prices, not verified current prices or a guide to the value of a used, refurbished, or remaining-stock phone.
Because this is a 2023 model, a buying decision today should account for the actual listing price, unit condition, seller, warranty, and remaining software and security support. The available sources do not establish current stock, present-day street prices, or the N55’s remaining update schedule. Verify those details with the seller and current manufacturer information before buying; do not assume an old listing is new, supported, or covered by warranty.
