The Realme Narzo 20 remains a capable low-cost 4G phone when bought used at the right price. Its 6,000mAh battery and Helio G85 chipset were strong for a 2020 budget model, but its HD+ 60Hz screen, 18W charging, aging software and uncertain battery condition make it a poor choice as an expensive “new” phone in 2026. Consider one only after checking the battery, account lock, IMEI, software patch level and return policy.

What is the Realme Narzo 20?
Realme launched the Narzo 20 in India on September 21, 2020. It was the performance-focused standard model in the Narzo 20 family: the Narzo 20A used a Snapdragon 665 and smaller 5,000mAh battery, while the Narzo 20 Pro used a Helio G95 and 65W charging. The regular Narzo 20 targeted buyers who wanted more gaming performance and endurance than many entry-level C-series phones of the same period.

Design and display
The large 6.5-inch LCD is suitable for video, reading and maps, and its HD+ resolution helps battery life. It is not as sharp as the Full HD+ panels common in newer phones, and 60Hz scrolling feels less fluid than 90Hz or 120Hz budget displays. LCD contrast and black levels are also below OLED standards.
At about 208g and roughly 9.8mm thick, the Narzo 20 is bulky. That size accommodates the large battery but can become tiring during long gaming sessions. On a used unit, inspect the panel for dead pixels, yellowing, touch dead zones, uneven brightness and poor-quality replacement glass. Performance and gaming
The Helio G85 was the Narzo 20’s principal advantage. Contemporary reviews found everyday performance generally good for its price, with enough power for occasional gaming. Calls, messaging, email, web browsing, YouTube, social apps and light multitasking remain realistic uses.
A 91mobiles listing records an AnTuTu result of about 204,495. That is an outlet- and test-version-specific historical figure, affected by software, temperature and battery condition; it should not be compared directly with 2026 benchmark results.

What it can handle
- Older and less demanding games.
- Casual gaming at reduced graphics settings.
- Light photo editing and ordinary streaming.
Where it falls short
- Modern high-end 3D games at high settings.
- Sustained gaming without heat, throttling or rapid battery loss.
- Heavy video editing and extensive multitasking.
- Users expecting 5G or current flagship-like responsiveness.
A 91mobiles test reported approximately 5% battery drain after 30 minutes of gaming and 24.1% heating. Those are outlet-specific measurements, not a guarantee for every handset, especially an aged or repaired one.
Battery life and charging
The 6,000mAh battery is the phone’s strongest feature. Gadgets 360 measured nearly 29 hours and 6 minutes in an HD video-loop test on a new review unit and described normal use as capable of approaching two days for some users. Video-loop laboratory results do not predict the endurance of a five- or six-year-old battery.
Charging is limited to 18W, which is slow beside current 33W, 45W or faster phones. A used Narzo 20 can show rapid percentage drops, poor standby or shutdowns under load even though its rated capacity remains 6,000mAh.

Battery checks before purchase
- Leave Wi-Fi and mobile data off overnight and check for an abnormal percentage drop.
- Play video for an extended period and watch for unusually rapid drain.
- Run the camera or a game to see whether the phone shuts down.
- Inspect the rear cover for lifting or separation.
- Check for excessive heat while charging.
- Ask for an invoice if the battery was replaced.
A swollen battery is a safety hazard. Do not charge or buy a phone with a lifting rear panel until it has been inspected by a qualified service provider.
Cameras
The triple rear setup combines a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera, with an 8MP selfie camera. In good daylight, the main sensor can produce usable snapshots and social-media images. The ultrawide is useful for groups and landscapes but loses detail, particularly in dim light. The 2MP macro mode is limited and should not be mistaken for a major photography feature.
Expect noise, smearing and reduced detail at night compared with newer phones. The front camera is adequate for calls and casual selfies. Gadgets 360’s contemporary review regarded the cameras as mediocre relative to the phone’s battery and performance strengths.
Software, updates and security
The Narzo 20 shipped with Android 10 and Realme UI. Some secondary listings and community material associate it with a later Realme UI 2.0/Android 11 update, but a definitive final Android version and published security-support end date should be verified on the individual device and regional Realme support pages.
Realme’s current security-advisory model lists do not surface the Narzo 20, so buyers should not assume ongoing modern security maintenance. That absence is not itself a formally announced end-of-support date. To check the handset, open Settings → Software update; the security patch date is usually under Settings → About device. In 2026, a phone with a very old patch should not be the preferred device for sensitive banking, enterprise work or a long-term primary role. App compatibility can also change as banking, streaming and authentication apps raise their minimum Android or security requirements.

- 3.5mm headphone jack.
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and standard navigation sensors.
MicroSD is convenient for photos, music and documents, but Android and individual apps may restrict moving applications to removable storage. Check LTE-band compatibility when buying an imported unit, even if its model name matches the Indian version.

Launch pricing in India
Launch coverage reported approximately ₹10,499 for the 4GB/64GB model and ₹11,499 for 4GB/128GB. These are 2020 launch-era prices, not current retail recommendations.
What listings show in 2026
As checked on August 18, 2026, trackers show figures such as ₹8,490 for a listed 4GB/64GB unit, around ₹12,999 or more for some listings, and about ₹13,990 for 4GB/128GB. The same pages mark many entries unavailable or out of stock. They may represent stale catalogue data, third-party offers or residual inventory rather than dependable in-stock prices.

Used and refurbished buying checklist
- Open Settings → About device and confirm the model and 64GB/128GB storage.
- Dial

- Test both SIM slots, mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and hotspot.
- Test USB-C charging and data transfer, the headphone jack, speakers and microphones.
- Check the fingerprint reader, proximity sensor, accelerometer, flash and every camera.
- Inspect the display, frame, buttons and rear cover for damage or water exposure.
- Have the seller remove their Google account, then complete a factory reset and begin setup with your account before payment.
- Ask whether the battery, screen, charging board or motherboard has been replaced and request receipts.
- Get a written return period or functional warranty.
Red flags include a missing or mismatched IMEI, a “new” phone with no credible sealed-box proof, abnormal idle heat, a swollen battery, an unbranded replacement screen or battery, and a seller who refuses testing.

When a newer phone is the better purchase
Choose a current budget 4G or 5G phone when the price gap is small. Compare Android version and security-support duration, display resolution and refresh rate, charging speed, chipset, low-light camera performance, warranty, battery freshness, network bands and return policy. A newer model normally offers a healthier battery and longer software runway; those benefits outweigh the Narzo 20’s large capacity when prices are similar.
Who should buy it?
- Buy: if it is substantially cheaper than a new entry-level phone, works on your carrier, passes the battery and lock checks, and you mainly need endurance, calls, media or a backup handset.
- Avoid: if it costs near a current 4G/5G model, has no return protection, shows battery degradation, or will handle sensitive banking and work data.
For official diagnosis or battery work, use Realme’s repair request service and obtain a quote first. A repair approaching the cost of a newer phone is rarely economical.
