The realme GT 8 Pro is the larger-screen choice, with a 6.79-inch QHD+ display listed at up to 144Hz and a 200MP telephoto camera. The Xiaomi 17 is more compact, with a 6.3-inch adaptive 1–120Hz display and three 50MP rear cameras, including a Leica-branded telephoto. Both are listed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Neither specification sheet settles which takes better photos or lasts longer—and there is no verified current, like-for-like price comparison without a country and matching configurations.

Which phone has the better display and feel?
The GT 8 Pro is the option to consider if you want more screen area and a higher listed refresh ceiling: 6.79 inches and 144Hz, compared with Xiaomi 17’s 6.3 inches and adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. Xiaomi’s smaller listed size makes it the more compact option on paper. The diagonal alone does not determine grip comfort; if possible, handle both phones before deciding.

How do their camera systems differ?
Realme’s listed rear setup combines a 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP main camera with a much higher-resolution 200MP telephoto. The company also promotes RICOH GR modes and a detachable camera set in its GT 8 Pro Series materials. realme España specifications realme GT 8 Pro Series
Xiaomi lists three 50MP rear cameras, including a 60mm floating telephoto, and Leica-branded imaging features. The distinction is therefore not simply “more megapixels”: the phones emphasize different hardware and camera features. Sensor resolution and branding cannot establish which produces better photos or video. If image quality is your deciding factor, compare reliable independent photo and video samples taken in conditions you care about.

Are performance, battery life, or charging clearly better?
Both phones are listed with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. 91mobiles reports a higher Geekbench multi-core score for the GT 8 Pro in its comparison, but that is the publisher’s test result, not a universal measure of everyday speed. Workload, software, cooling and test conditions affect performance.
On listed figures, the realme has the larger battery capacity and higher maximum wired charging rate; both are listed at 50W for wireless charging in the cited sources. Capacity does not prove longer real-world battery life, and advertised charging rates are maximum capabilities that can vary with charger, cable, temperature and battery state. No controlled head-to-head endurance result is established by these figures.

What is the price difference?
A current, like-for-like price difference cannot be established from the available listings: the prices are market-specific and may refer to different configurations or sellers. Compare live offers in your country for the same memory and storage tier, and check warranty, stock and included accessories.
- India listings: 91mobiles showed ₹72,999 for the realme GT 8 Pro at Flipkart and ₹89,999 for the Xiaomi 17 at Amazon when the comparison page was accessed. These are volatile retailer listings, not guaranteed current prices, and the configurations should be checked. 91mobiles comparison
- Spain launch prices: Cinco Días reported the realme GT 8 Pro at €999 for 12GB/256GB and €1,099 for 16GB/512GB, with availability from 2 December 2025. Its €100 launch discount and bundled items were valid only through 6 January 2026 and have expired. The report does not provide a comparable current Xiaomi 17 price. Cinco Días
Do not compare a historical promotion or different storage tiers as though they were current, equivalent offers. Also confirm the regional version: memory options, radio bands, charger bundles, warranty and availability can differ between markets.
Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the realme GT 8 Pro if your priorities are a larger display, a higher listed refresh rate, a high-resolution telephoto camera, or higher stated battery capacity and wired charging rate.
- Consider the Xiaomi 17 if you prefer a more compact listed display size, adaptive refresh, and a triple-50MP rear camera system with Leica features.
- Compare them in person or through independent tests if hand comfort, camera output, outdoor visibility, gaming or battery endurance matters more than specifications on paper.
