Neither phone wins outright on paper. The POCO X8 Pro Max has the higher-tier chipset and the larger stated battery. The realme GT 7T has the higher advertised charging wattage and the higher-resolution selfie camera. Both are large 1.5K-class AMOLED phones with displays rated up to 120Hz and 50MP main cameras. Real-world gaming, camera quality and endurance are not settled by the published specifications, and the price gap is not settled either, because the available India price data conflicts.

The realme figures come from realme’s official Spain specification page. The POCO figures come from POCO Global’s official product pages and its UK specification listing. The price row comes from a third-party comparison page and should be read as a dated snapshot.

Performance: the chipset gap and the benchmark evidence
On paper, the POCO X8 Pro Max is the stronger processor. Its MediaTek Dimensity 9500s sits in a higher tier than the Dimensity 8400-Max in the GT 7T. That is a statement about the chip hierarchy, not a measured result in these phones.
The only benchmark figure in the material reviewed is POCO’s own. Its official launch page cites 3,085,998 in AnTuTu V11.0.5, attributed to POCO Internal Labs in 2026, tested at around 25°C. POCO also states that actual results may vary. Treat this as a vendor figure. It is not an independent or controlled test, and it does not show sustained performance under heavy gaming, thermal throttling or frame-rate stability.

No independent head-to-head benchmark, gaming frame-rate test, or thermal test for these two phones was found in the sources reviewed. Anyone claiming one of them is clearly faster in daily use should point to a test that reports its conditions.
Battery and charging: capacity versus advertised wattage
POCO states a typical battery of 8500mAh. realme states 7000mAh. That favours POCO on capacity. realme’s 120W SUPERVOOC rating is higher than POCO’s 100W HyperCharge rating, which favours realme on maximum advertised charge power.
Neither figure is an endurance or charge-time result. Observed charging speed depends on the charger used, temperature, battery state and software settings. The sources do not state which charger is in the box with either phone. Check whether a charger is included in your market before comparing charging time.

Battery configuration is also market-dependent for POCO. The 8500mAh figure is from the official global page, so a regional model may differ.
Display
The two screens are close on headline specifications. The GT 7T has a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel at 2800×1280 with a refresh rate up to 120Hz. The X8 Pro Max has a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel at 2772×1280, also up to 120Hz. The difference in size is 0.03 inches and the resolutions differ in both dimensions, so you are unlikely to notice a difference in sharpness or smoothness from the numbers alone.
POCO advertises a peak brightness of 3500 nits over 25% of the display area. This is a vendor figure, and POCO attaches a test caveat to it. Brightness in direct sunlight depends on how the panel is measured and tuned, so the figure does not prove outdoor visibility is better than the GT 7T’s.

Cameras
Both phones list a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The main sensors differ: realme specifies a Sony IMX896, while POCO specifies its Light Fusion 600 image processing. Megapixel counts do not show which main camera produces better photos, and the sources reviewed contain no comparative image-quality test.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The selfie camera is the clearest difference on the spec sheet. realme lists 32MP and POCO’s UK listing gives 20MP. A higher megapixel count is a specification, not a guarantee of better selfies, so the difference should be weighed against your own priorities.

Before buying, confirm the following for each phone:
- The exact RAM and storage configuration, because price is usually quoted per variant.
- The market, since India, Spain, the UK and global listings can differ in specification and availability.
- That the phone is in stock at a named retailer on the day you check.
- Whether a charger is included, which affects the real cost of the 120W or 100W rating.
Which model name you are looking at
POCO’s X8 series includes both the X8 Pro Max and a separate POCO X8 Pro, and their specifications differ. POCO announced its X8 Pro series launch event for 17 March 2026. The Pro Max page is the official reference for the figures in this article. Availability may vary by market, so check that the model name on the listing matches the one described here.

The decision comes down to what you prioritise:
- Choose the POCO X8 Pro Max if the higher-tier chipset and the larger stated battery matter most to you, and its verified local price is acceptable for the configuration you need.
- Choose the realme GT 7T if faster advertised charging at 120W and the 32MP selfie camera matter more, or if its verified local price is clearly lower for the same configuration.
- Wait for independent testing if sustained gaming performance, thermal behaviour, camera quality or real-world battery life are the deciding factors. The specifications published by both companies do not answer those questions.
The final choice should be made on the price you can verify for the same memory and storage configuration in your market.
