The realme GT 8 China model has the higher listed display resolution and refresh rate, and uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite; the realme GT 7 Global model is listed with faster 120W wired charging. The price comparison depends on country and seller: an India comparison-site snapshot puts the GT 8 above the GT 7, but that is not a verified authorized-retailer or checkout price.
GT 7 Global vs GT 8 China: what is being compared?
This is a comparison of the realme GT 7 Global and the realme GT 8 China model, not two equivalent regional releases. The non-Pro GT 8 specifications cited here describe the China-market phone. Availability, warranty, supported network bands, software configuration and local pricing can differ by region. The realme GT 8 Pro is a separate model; its specifications should not be applied to the GT 8 compared here.

For buyers considering an imported GT 8, check the exact SKU, carrier-band compatibility, software and seller warranty before comparing it with a locally sold GT 7. realme notes that actual network-band use can depend on local operator implementation in its GT 7 regional specifications.

Performance and display: GT 8 leads on listed specifications
The GT 8 China is listed with a Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the GT 7 Global uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e. They are different platforms, so a chipset name or an aggregate benchmark score cannot guarantee a particular app, game or thermal experience. NanoReview’s comparison reports compiled AnTuTu 11 scores of 3,336,910 for the GT 8, from 10 listed tests, and 2,505,807 for the GT 7, from 30. Those are third-party aggregates, not tests conducted for this article; they should not be read as a fixed percentage improvement in everyday use.
On paper, the GT 8 also has a sharper, faster-refreshing display: 1440 × 3136 at up to 144Hz versus the GT 7’s 1264 × 2780 at up to 120Hz. The comparison page includes brightness figures too, but its rated and HDR brightness labels do not establish directly comparable viewing performance or measurement conditions.
Battery and charging: GT 7 has the higher charging figure
Both models are listed with 7000mAh batteries, but the GT 7 Global is listed at 120W wired charging and the GT 8 China at 100W. GT 8 launch coverage independently reports 7000mAh and 100W. Capacity alone does not establish which phone lasts longer: comparable battery-runtime testing is not available in the cited figures, and actual endurance varies with use and conditions.

Camera hardware: compare zoom range, not presumed photo quality
The GT 8’s listed 50MP telephoto offers 3.5x optical zoom, compared with 2x for the GT 7 Global’s listed 50MP telephoto. Cinco Días also describes the GT 8 main camera as a 50MP sensor with an anti-reflective lens and optical stabilization, plus an 8MP ultrawide; its coverage notes Ricoh co-design of camera software. The GT 7 comparison listing specifies a 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide. These hardware descriptions do not establish which phone takes better photos: no controlled image comparison is established here.
GT 7 vs GT 8 price difference: use a local, dated comparison
For India, Smartprix listed the GT 7 at ₹41,999 and GT 8 at ₹52,990, with its details last updated September 24, 2026. That is a comparison-site snapshot, not confirmation of current stock, a seller’s checkout total or authorized-retailer status. Verify the exact model, storage configuration, seller, warranty and final price before buying.
Other published price figures are not directly comparable across markets. Cinco Días reported the GT 8’s China launch starting price as about €440 equivalent in October 2025; that is historical launch context, not a current European retail price. NanoReview lists launch MSRPs of $410 for GT 8 China and $749 for GT 7 Global, but these are different regional models and launch contexts, so the $339 difference is not a same-market price gap. See Smartprix’s India comparison listing.
Quick Recap
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the GT 8 China if its higher listed resolution and refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite platform or 3.5x telephoto zoom suit your priorities—and you have confirmed local compatibility, software expectations, warranty and total import cost.
- Choose the GT 7 Global if you value the listed 120W charging, a Global-market model, or a verified local offer. Confirm the seller and configuration rather than relying on a comparison-site price alone.
- Wait or compare local alternatives if you cannot verify GT 8 availability and support in your country. The available evidence establishes a China-market GT 8 launch, not authorized availability in every region.
