The realme GT 6 pairs a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor with a sharp 120Hz display, a 5,500mAh typical-capacity battery, and 120W charging. Its main camera has optical image stabilization and it adds a dedicated telephoto camera, but the 8MP ultrawide is a clear step down. Whether it is a good buy now depends on the price and software support remaining in your region—not its 2024 launch price.
What the realme GT 6 gets right
Performance-focused hardware
Realme’s India specification page lists the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, LPDDR5X memory configurations of 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB, and UFS 4.0 storage options of 256GB or 512GB. Availability varies by region, so confirm the exact memory and storage configuration on the local model listing before buying. realme’s India specifications

This is a strong hardware foundation for demanding apps and games. The chipset name alone, however, does not establish how well the phone sustains performance during long gaming sessions; that depends on workload, temperature, and software, and the sources available here do not provide a comparable sustained-performance test.

The listed 6.78-inch display has a resolution of 2780 × 1264 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Review coverage describes it as an LTPO panel, which can vary its refresh rate to suit what is on screen. The display is curved, a design choice that some buyers may dislike or find less convenient than a flat screen.

Realme advertises a local peak brightness of 6,000 nits, but that figure is a manufacturer claim measured under lab conditions—not a promise of sustained, full-screen brightness in everyday use. Realme’s global product page cautions that test data can vary with testing environments and calculation methods. realme’s global product page
Large battery and fast charging
The India specification page lists 5,500mAh typical capacity and 5,360mAh rated capacity, along with 120W SUPERVOOC charging. Realme lists a 120W adapter in the package, with an EU exception. Check the package contents for your country rather than assuming every regional box includes the same charger. The capacity and charging rating are promising on paper, but they do not establish a particular screen-on time or charging duration under your conditions.
More camera flexibility than a main-camera-only setup
The camera hardware includes a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide. GSMArena’s 2024 review identifies the ultrawide as the weaker member of the group compared with the main and telephoto cameras. That makes the phone more appealing if you value a stabilized main camera and a dedicated zoom option than if you regularly rely on wide-angle shots. GSMArena’s realme GT 6 review

Water and dust protection
Realme’s global product page lists an IP65 rating. That is a useful protection specification, but it should not be read as a claim that the phone is waterproof or suitable for submersion.
What to consider before buying
The ultrawide camera is the clearest hardware compromise
At 8MP, the ultrawide is less capable on paper than the 50MP main and telephoto cameras, and GSMArena’s review also criticizes its results relative to those cameras. If your usual camera use is standard or telephoto framing, this may matter less. If you often photograph landscapes, architecture, or groups from close quarters, the ultrawide deserves particular attention when comparing alternatives.
The curved screen is a matter of preference
The display’s curved edges may suit buyers who like that look, while others may prefer the handling and screen shape of a flat-panel phone. The review material cited here does not establish how often accidental touches occur or how easy the display is to repair or protect. Treat those points as unresolved rather than assuming the curve is either a practical problem or an advantage.

Launch-era update promises are not the same as support remaining
India Today reported in 2024 that realme committed to three Android version upgrades and four years of security patches. That is a launch-era policy, not a current count of updates left. Because the phone has been on sale since 2024, check its present software version, latest security-patch date, and the support schedule for your region before buying. Pros and cons at a glance
| Pros | Cons and qualifications |
|---|---|
| Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage options listed for India | Memory and storage configurations vary by region; sustained performance is not established by the specifications alone |
| 6.78-inch, 2780 × 1264 display with up to 120Hz refresh rate | Curved edges may not suit everyone; the advertised 6,000-nit local peak is a manufacturer lab claim, not ordinary sustained brightness |
| 5,500mAh typical battery and 120W SUPERVOOC charging | Adapter inclusion has a regional exception, and stated capacity does not guarantee a specific endurance or charging time |
| 50MP stabilized main camera and a dedicated 50MP telephoto camera | The 8MP ultrawide is the weaker camera according to GSMArena’s 2024 review |
| IP65 rating listed on realme’s global product page | IP65 does not mean the phone is waterproof or rated for submersion |
| Launch-era promise of three Android upgrades and four years of security patches was reported in 2024 | That promise does not tell buyers how many updates remain today; verify current regional support and patch status |
How to judge its value now
Current price, local stock, warranty terms, and the status of authorized retailers are not established here. Compare the actual price of the exact regional configuration you can buy, not a launch price or a listing for a different variant. 91mobiles names the OnePlus 12R and iQOO Neo 9 Pro as competitors, but the available coverage does not establish their current prices, so it cannot support a present-day value winner. 91mobiles’ realme GT 6 listing
When comparing phones, check these points together:
- Price and storage: compare local prices for equivalent storage configurations and confirm the regional SKU.
- Long-session performance: seek comparable testing under sustained workloads instead of relying only on chipset names.
- Display shape: decide whether you want the GT 6’s curved screen or prefer a flat display.
- Camera range: weigh its main-camera and telephoto setup against the quality of the ultrawide on each alternative.
- Battery and charging: compare endurance evidence as well as charging ratings, and check what charger is in the box.
- Support and protection: verify security-patch status, remaining update support, and the local warranty and water-resistance terms.
The GT 6 makes the most sense if its current local price is attractive for the configuration available and you prioritize fast charging, a high-refresh display, and main-plus-telephoto camera flexibility. A weaker deal, limited remaining software support, or frequent use of the ultrawide can change that calculation.
