On paper, the realme 16 Pro 5G wins on main-camera resolution and nominal battery capacity, while the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G has the higher-tier chipset, the higher-resolution ultrawide camera, and faster wired charging. The listed prices favored Motorola at the time of one comparison snapshot, but that gap depends on the exact variant and the day you check. Specifications alone do not settle which phone is better for you.
Spec comparison: realme 16 Pro 5G vs Motorola Edge 70 Pro
The figures below come from each manufacturer’s India specification page, as checked in early October 2026. They describe what each company claims, not measured performance.

Processor tier
The Dimensity 8500 Extreme sits higher in MediaTek’s lineup than the Dimensity 7300 Max, so Motorola has the stronger processor on paper. No benchmark or hands-on test is part of this comparison, so the gap in real-world speed, thermals, or gaming performance is unknown here.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.78 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 6.78 inches
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm), Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm)
- Rear: 200 MP, f/1.9, 23mm (wide), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, 8 MP, 112˚, (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, Front: 50 MP, f/2.4, 23mm (wide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm
Cameras
realme lists a 200MP main sensor against Motorola’s 50MP, a large difference in nominal resolution. Motorola’s ultrawide is 50MP against realme’s 8MP, which matters if you shoot wide landscapes or group photos often. Megapixel counts do not decide image quality on their own, since sensor size, pixel binning, processing, and lens quality all contribute. Both phones list 50MP selfie cameras at the same nominal resolution.
Battery and charging
realme lists a larger battery, 7000mAh as a typical figure, against Motorola’s 6500mAh. Motorola lists faster wired charging at 90W, against realme’s 80W. Neither company’s figure is a guarantee of endurance or charge time. Battery capacity is a rating, and actual runtime depends on screen settings, network conditions, and workload.
Rank #2
- 6.78 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 6.78 inches
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm), Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm)
- Rear: 200 MP, f/1.9, 23mm (wide), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, 8 MP, 112˚, (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, Front: 50 MP, f/2.4, 23mm (wide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm
Display
Both phones use large AMOLED panels with a 144Hz maximum refresh rate, so they will feel similar in smoothness terms. Motorola explicitly lists HDR10+ support. The brightness numbers use different labels (realme’s 1400-nit HBM and 6500-nit APL against Motorola’s 5200-nit peak), so do not treat them as a direct comparison.

Software and update support
Motorola’s specification page states up to three years of OS upgrades and security patches. The realme specification page reviewed for this comparison does not give a matching support duration, so there is no like-for-like update-support comparison to draw. Check realme’s current update policy directly before buying if long support matters to you.

Price difference: what the listings show
A 91mobiles comparison captured on 7 October 2026 listed the realme 16 Pro at ₹44,999 and the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G at ₹39,655, a difference of ₹5,344 in Motorola’s favor at that snapshot. The page does not confirm which RAM and storage variant each price refers to, and it is not a checkout quote. Prices change with stock, bank offers, and seller discounts. See the 91mobiles comparison page for the listing details.
Launch pricing is a separate figure. Cinco Días / Smartlife reported on 22 April 2026 that Motorola India priced the Edge 70 Pro at ₹36,999 for the base model and ₹41,999 for the 12GB model, with sales starting 29 April. Those are launch prices, not current prices, and they should not be mixed with the October listing in the same comparison without labels. The Cinco Días report on the launch covers the original announcement.
Rank #4
- 6.78 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 6.78 inches
- 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm), Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Max (4 nm)
- Rear: 200 MP, f/1.9, 23mm (wide), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, 8 MP, 112˚, (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, Front: 50 MP, f/2.4, 23mm (wide), 1/2.88", 0.61µm
Before comparing prices, match the variant. A ₹5,344 gap between an 8GB model and a 12GB model is not a like-for-like difference. Compare 8GB against 8GB and 12GB against 12GB, and confirm storage on both sides.
Which phone fits which priorities
- Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G if you care most about processor tier, a 50MP ultrawide camera, faster wired charging, HDR10+ playback, or a stated three-year OS and security update commitment.
- Choose the realme 16 Pro 5G if you care most about the 200MP main camera, the larger nominal battery, or the higher listed chip-tier-independent storage options, and if the lower price on that specific variant is what decides it.
- Check live prices first if the price gap matters. The listed difference can shrink, grow, or reverse depending on configuration and retailer.
Neither phone can be called the better camera, longer-lasting, or better-value buy from specifications alone. Those judgments require tested results, which this comparison does not include.
Before you buy
- Confirm the RAM and storage configuration on the retailer’s product page, not only in the comparison listing.
- Check whether the price includes bank or exchange offers, and whether it matches the launch price you saw earlier.
- Read the current official specification page for your region, since listings may differ between India and other markets.
- If update support matters, look up realme’s current policy on its India site before deciding.
Both phones are available as 5G devices with large AMOLED screens and 50MP selfie cameras, so the decision usually comes down to chipset tier and ultrawide camera on one side, and main camera resolution and battery capacity on the other.
