At the January 2026 comparison price of ₹31,999, the OnePlus Nord 5 offered twice the base storage of the realme 16 Pro and was the performance-focused pick; choose the realme if its larger stated battery, 200MP main-camera specification, lighter weight or higher reported ingress-protection ratings matter more. That shared price is historical, not a current quote: OnePlus India now lists the Nord 5 from ₹33,999, while a current realme 16 Pro price was not established. Check the seller, price and exact memory variant before buying.
How to choose between them
- Choose the Nord 5 if gaming performance, demanding apps, more base storage at the historical comparison price, or a stated long software-support policy are priorities.
- Choose the realme 16 Pro if you value its larger nominal battery, 200MP main-camera resolution, lower listed weight, or the higher ingress-protection ratings reported in the comparison.
- Do not decide on megapixels or battery capacity alone. Neither specification establishes which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in your own use.
Price and storage: the ₹31,999 comparison is dated

OnePlus states a specific update commitment
OnePlus says the Nord 5 will receive four Android version updates and six years of security updates. A directly comparable official support commitment for the realme 16 Pro was not established in the cited material, so there is no sound basis here for a numerical support-policy comparison. Cameras: resolution is not a photo-quality verdict
The realme 16 Pro lists a 200MP wide rear camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The Nord 5 is listed with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Both have a listed 50MP front camera. The higher main-camera megapixel count does not by itself prove that the realme produces better photos; sensor, processing, lighting and shooting conditions also matter.

Battery and charging: realme has the larger stated capacity
Realme lists a typical battery capacity of 7,000mAh and 80W charging for the 16 Pro. OnePlus lists a 6,800mAh battery and 80W charging for the Nord 5. The realme therefore has the larger nominal capacity, while both list the same charging wattage. Capacity and charging specifications do not guarantee a particular runtime or charging time: actual results depend on usage and conditions. realme 16 Pro specifications · OnePlus Nord 5 product page
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Weight and water-and-dust protection
The comparison lists the realme 16 Pro at 192g and the Nord 5 at 211g, so the realme is lighter on those stated figures. It reports IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for the realme, while the official realme specifications page emphasizes IP69. The comparison lists IP65 for the Nord 5. Treat the realme’s multi-rating list as the comparison’s report rather than as independently confirmed regional documentation. Ingress-protection ratings describe defined test conditions; they do not make either phone waterproof in every circumstance. 91mobiles comparison · realme 16 Pro specifications

Verdict
For demanding apps, gaming, and the explicit software-update commitment, the Nord 5 is the clearer fit—especially if you find it near the historical comparison price with 256GB storage. For a larger stated battery, lower listed weight, or the 200MP camera specification, the realme 16 Pro is the alternative to consider. Because the ₹31,999 prices are dated and tied to different storage variants, make the final decision using current offers for the exact configurations you would buy.
