On listed specifications, the realme 15 Pro 5G has the larger, faster screen and the higher advertised battery capacity. The OPPO Reno16 5G (model CPH2865) has a dedicated optical telephoto lens and publishes official India prices. Both phones use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, so the chip does not separate them. The price gap that appears in comparison listings is not a reliable like-for-like saving.

OPPO sells a separate India model called Reno16c 5G (model CPH2859). Its specifications and prices differ from the Reno16 5G (CPH2865) discussed here, so do not use Reno16c figures for this comparison. OPPO’s India page also notes that Reno16 variants sold in other countries can differ in specifications and price. Check the model number on any retailer listing before you compare numbers.

Display: larger and faster on the realme
The realme 15 Pro 5G advertises a 6.8-inch curved display with a 144Hz maximum refresh rate. OPPO lists the Reno16 5G at 16.05cm (about 6.32 inches) with a maximum of 120Hz. On paper, the realme offers about half an inch more diagonal and a faster ceiling for smooth scrolling and animation.
Those are maximum figures. A higher refresh rate only shows up when the app or game actually runs at that rate, and battery use changes with it. Curved edges and brightness also vary between panels, and neither manufacturer’s listing reports measured brightness or colour accuracy, so the spec sheet alone cannot tell you which screen you will prefer.
Cameras: the telephoto lens is the clearest difference
The Reno16 5G has three rear lenses with specified roles: a 50MP wide camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50MP 116° ultra-wide, and a 50MP telephoto with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. A dedicated optical telephoto gives you a true zoom lens rather than a cropped digital zoom from the main sensor, which is the main reason to pick the OPPO if you shoot portraits or distant subjects often.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe realme 15 Pro 5G advertises three 50MP cameras and says every lens records 4K/60fps video. The listing does not name each lens’s focal length, so you cannot tell from the spec sheet whether the second and third lenses are telephoto, ultra-wide or another type.
Megapixel counts do not measure image quality. Sensor size, pixel processing, stabilisation and software all affect the final photo. The sources reviewed for this article contain no controlled side-by-side camera tests of this pair, so no claim about which phone takes better photos is supported here.

Battery and charging
realme advertises 7000mAh for the 15 Pro 5G. OPPO lists the Reno16 5G at 6700mAh typical and 6490mAh rated. Because the two companies report different measures, the numbers are not directly equivalent, although realme’s figure is higher on either reading. Both phones list 80W wired charging under their own branding (Ultra Charge and SUPERVOOC).
Capacity and charging ratings are not battery-life results. Real endurance depends on screen refresh rate, workload, network signal and software settings. Neither listing reports a battery-life test, so you should not read the larger capacity as longer use.

Performance: same chip, different configurations
Both manufacturers name the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, so the processor will not explain a difference in everyday speed. Any gap you see in real use would come from memory and storage configuration, cooling, software and power management. The sources here do not include comparable independent performance tests.
91mobiles’ comparison page shows benchmark figures for both phones. Those results do not state their test method or the exact device configurations, so this article does not use them to name a performance winner.
Memory and storage: compare like with like
OPPO officially sells the Reno16 5G in two India configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. OPPO does not offer a microSD card slot, so the storage you buy is the storage you get. The realme figure of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage comes from 91mobiles’ summary. Before you compare prices, confirm the exact realme variant on realme’s India product page, because a 128GB model and a 256GB model are not the same purchase.

Price difference: what the numbers do and do not show
OPPO’s India price page, dated 31 August 2026 and subject to change, lists the Reno16 5G at ₹66,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB+256GB. The realme price below comes from 91mobiles’ comparison page, which was crawled on 7 October 2026.
| Phone and configuration | Price shown | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| OPPO Reno16 5G, 8GB+256GB | ₹66,999 | OPPO India official page, as of 31 August 2026 |
| OPPO Reno16 5G, 12GB+256GB | ₹72,999 | OPPO India official page, as of 31 August 2026 |
| OPPO Reno16 5G | ₹66,999 | 91mobiles comparison page, crawled 7 October 2026; configuration not stated |
| realme 15 Pro 5G | ₹33,999 | 91mobiles comparison page, crawled 7 October 2026; variant not confirmed |
| realme 15 Pro 5G, official India price | Not stated in the sources used for this article | Check realme’s India product page |
The listing shows a ₹33,000 difference between the two phones. That figure is not a reliable saving. The realme variant behind the ₹33,999 price is unconfirmed, the OPPO price on that page does not state its configuration, and retail prices change often. A fair comparison requires the same storage capacity on both phones and a price checked on the day you buy.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the realme 15 Pro 5G if a larger, 144Hz display and the higher advertised battery capacity matter most, and the realme variant you can buy is at a price you have verified.
- Choose the OPPO Reno16 5G if you want a dedicated optical telephoto lens, a published 12GB+256GB option, or official India pricing you can check directly on OPPO’s site.
- Check the price first if you are comparing the two on storage. Match the capacity, then check the live price at the retailer.
What these specifications cannot tell you
Everything above comes from manufacturer product information and one third-party comparison. No hands-on test of this exact pair, no controlled camera comparison and no measured battery-life result was available for this article. The listed capacities, megapixel counts and maximum refresh rates describe what each company claims, not how the phones perform in use. If the telephoto lens, the screen size or the storage configuration matters to you, those are the specifications to verify with the manufacturer’s page and a retailer before buying.
Official sources for the figures in this article are the realme India product page, the OPPO Reno16 5G specification page and the OPPO India Reno16 price and details page.
