To reach Ferenia in Metroid Dread, return to Dairon after collecting the Grapple Beam in Artaria. Use it to open the route to a Morph Ball Launcher, activate the launcher with a bomb, then head north and take the region connection to Ferenia.
Before leaving Artaria
This route assumes you have collected the Grapple Beam. From its item room, backtrack along the way you came. Use the beam to pull out the grapple block blocking your path, then reach the magnetic surface and follow the newly accessible route to the teleporter to Dairon. The progression is Artaria to Dairon to Ferenia; the connection to Ferenia is reached from Dairon.

Take the north exit to Ferenia
From the launcher’s landing point, continue north. Pull away the grapple block that bars the way, then use the region connection to enter Ferenia. If the room or route marker is hard to identify, check the in-game map for your current region and compare the room layout with the walkthrough images in Thonky’s Ferenia walkthrough or Nintendo Life’s progression guide after the Grapple Beam.
What to expect on your first Ferenia visit
Ferenia’s initial route uses grapple swing points and blue grappleable walls. You will also use Flash Shift to cross pressure plates before entering an E.M.M.I. zone. Nintendo describes Ferenia as a former sanctuary for Chozo rituals, and the game’s exploration later sends Samus back through regions she has already visited (Nintendo’s Metroid Dread Report, vol. 8).
The first visit includes a story scene and a Robot Chozo Soldier fight. Its arm attacks are close-range threats, so keep moving with jumps and Flash Shift; look for openings to use missiles or charged shots while avoiding its beams. After the encounter, the route continues back toward Dairon.
