But launch specifications are not a verdict. Razer has not yet established that the V4 Pro outperforms rival controllers, and its own UK product page gives conflicting battery-life figures.
What is the Wolverine V4 Pro?
Announced on October 6, 2026, the Wolverine V4 Pro is the wireless member of Razer’s new Wolverine V4 line, designed for Xbox and PC. The other announced model, the Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition, is wired. Razer positions the line for competitive first-person shooters, racing games, and sports titles; that is the manufacturer’s target audience, not evidence that either model is best for those players.

Six rear and bumper inputs
The V4 Pro has four removable magnetic rear buttons and two claw-grip bumpers, giving players six mappable inputs, according to Razer. These controls can put more actions within reach without moving a thumb from a stick. Whether their placement is comfortable—and whether the rear buttons are easy to press deliberately without accidental inputs—depends on hand size and grip style.
#1 Best Overall
- 4 MOUSE CLICK BACK BUTTONS & 2 CLAW GRIP BUMPERS — Enjoy the same ultra-responsive actuation found in Razer's top gaming mice with 4 buttons built into the controller’s ergonomic, rubberized handles—topped with 2 claw grip bumpers for even more control
- PRO HYPERTRIGGERS — Set the triggers for instant actuation with zero travel time or ultra precise analog control—be fully immersed in the action and feel every trigger pull with integrated haptic vibrations
- HALL EFFECT PRECISION THUMBSTICKS — Experience analog thumbsticks that are not only more accurate than traditional models but are smoother, lighter, and more durable thanks to their anti-friction rings and pro grade materials
- HYPERSPEED WIRELESS — Delivering an ultra-low latency 2.4 GHz connection via its USB Type A dongle, experience fast, reliable performance that meets the demands of the most intense competitive players on Xbox and PC
- RAZER MECHA-TACTILE ACTION BUTTONS & 8-WAY FLOATING D-PAD — By combining the speed of microswitches with the cushioned comfort of a rubber membrane, compete with quicker inputs that feel just as comfortable to press
Adjustable triggers and profiles
Razer says the trigger locks can switch between a short, click-like input and full-range analog travel. In software, trigger actuation can be adjusted from 1.3 mm to 8.2 mm, and users can configure dead zones from 0% to 15%. The controller supports four stored profiles, alongside remapping options. Short travel may suit games that reward quick presses; full travel preserves analog control where gradual input matters.
Capacitive sticks and interchangeable parts
Razer advertises capacitive thumbstick sensors and says they register approximately 3,000 movement steps using a 16-bit ADC. Razer specifies that figure with its Hyper Wireless dongle connected to a PC at 8,000 Hz polling; it is a manufacturer measurement, not an independent test of accuracy or long-term drift.
Rank #2
- 8K HZ HYPERPOLLING TECHNOLOGY — Experience ultra responsive performance with a true 8000 Hz polling rate; harness its blistering speed in wired or wireless mode and make every millisecond count
- TMR THUMBSTICKS WITH SWAPPABLE CAPS — Fine-tuned for the most precise in-game control, dominate with laser-sharp aim using anti-drift magnetic TMR thumbsticks that have evolved beyond typical Hall Effect designs
- RAZER’S LIGHTEST WIRELESS ESPORTS CONTROLLER — Experience zero hand fatigue with a form factor designed and refined with top esports players
- 4 MOUSE CLICK BACK BUTTONS & 2 CLAW GRIP BUMPER — Enjoy the same ultra-responsive actuation found in Razer's top gaming mice with 4 buttons built into the controller’s ergonomic, rubberized handles—topped with 2 claw grip bumpers for even more control
- PRO HYPERTRIGGERS — Always be first to fire with lightning fast mouse clicks found in our top gaming mice, or enable full analog control for enhanced precision—all with a flick of a switch
The controller also has interchangeable stick caps, a removable magnetic faceplate, PBT face buttons and D-pad, and textured grips. Razer’s UK product page describes six swappable caps, including short concave, short convex, and tall concave options. The documented customization does not establish compatibility with third-party parts.

What do the polling and latency claims mean?
Razer advertises polling of up to 8,000 Hz on PC and up to 250 Hz on Xbox. Those are platform-specific maximum claims, not a guarantee that every game, connection, or setup will deliver a perceptible advantage. The announcement says sub-1 ms response times, while Razer’s UK product page describes sub-2 ms latency. The wording differs between the official pages, and there is no independent V4 Pro latency result in the sources reviewed. Treat both as manufacturer claims rather than a single verified figure.
Rank #3
- HYPERSPEED WIRELESS: Delivers an ultra-fast 2.4GHz wireless connection via its included USB Type A dongle and ensures seamless performance that meets the demands of competitive gaming on PS5 consoles and PC
- MECHA-TACTILE ACTION BUTTONS: With a shorter actuation distance for quicker button presses and improved tactility to feel every input, the controller brings a whole new level of speed and consistency to gameplay
- 8-WAY MICROSWITCH D-PAD: Feel and hear every single directional press as microswitches are engaged, enabling accurate and intentional moves when doing intricate combos
- HYPERTRIGGER: Always be first to fire with triggers that can switch from measured, full-range pulls to lightning-quick clicks
- 6 REMAPPABLE BUTTONS: Map 4 extra triggers and 2 custom bumpers to preferred commands
Battery life is an unresolved question
Razer’s UK product page gives two different estimates for the Pro: “Up to 27 hours battery life” in one section and “up to 40 hours” in its FAQ. The launch announcement excerpt does not resolve the discrepancy. Neither figure should be treated as settled practical battery life until Razer clarifies it or reliable independent testing measures it.
Price and availability in the UK
When Razer’s official UK checkout listing was crawled on October 7, 2026, it showed a price of £199.99 and preorder status, with shipping from October 26. That is a UK listing and fulfillment estimate observed on that date—not a global price or confirmation of stock in other markets. Check the Razer UK product page for current regional details.

For context only, PC Gamer reported a $159.99 Amazon deal for the previous-generation Wolverine V3 Pro 8K on September 16, 2026. That was a dated promotional price for a different controller; it does not establish the V4 Pro’s price, the V3 Pro’s current price, or a performance advantage for the newer model. PC Gamer’s V3 Pro 8K coverage is useful as prior-generation context, not as a head-to-head test.
What would it take to call it the king of Xbox controllers?
The launch features make the V4 Pro a plausible contender, but a “king” verdict requires comparisons that the announcement and product page do not provide. A useful review would test:
Best Value
- INTERCHANGEABLE THUMBSTICKS and D PADS — swap between optimized thumbstick heights and shapes, and quickly change between a tilting or individual D Pad buttones
- 6 REMAPPABLE MULTI-FUNCTION BUTTONS — Comes with an additional 2 remappable multi-function bumpers and 4 multi-function triggers
- HAIR TRIGGER MODE plus TRIGGER STOPS — For a competitive edge, Automatic Hair Trigger Mode via two slide-locks on the underside of the controller that greatly reduce travel distance to the main triggers, enabling an ultra-fast rate of fire
- CHROMA RGB LIGHTING — Show off with Razer Chroma's wide selection of lighting effects and stunning profiles, completely customizable through Razer Synapse for Xbox
- ERGONOMIC DESIGN — that stays comfortable after hours of practice, and interchangeable parts so it adapts to different playstyle
- Comfort across different hand sizes and grip styles.
- Rear-button reach, feel, and accidental presses.
- Stick accuracy and drift over time.
- Wired and wireless latency under matched conditions.
- How features behave on Xbox compared with PC.
- Battery life, build quality, reliability, and software setup.
- Value against competing controllers at prices available in the same market.
Razer’s announcement includes an endorsement from LastShot, identified there as the 2025 Halo World Champion with Shopify Rebellion: “This controller is damn near perfect – It’s everything I loved about the Wolverine V3 taken to the next level”. That is a promotional endorsement, not an independent comparative test. It can explain the product’s appeal to a competitive player, but it cannot answer whether the V4 Pro is better for other players or superior to alternatives.
