Razer Basilisk V4 Pro vs. V4 HyperSpeed vs. Logitech G502 X: Which Gaming Mouse Is Right for You?

There is no single winner in this comparison because “Basilisk V4” covers two different mice and “G502 X” covers wired and wireless versions. Choose the Logitech G502 X wired if you want a straightforward 89 g wired mouse with no battery to maintain. Choose the Razer Basilisk V4 Pro if you want the broadest published control set, multi-mode connectivity, advanced scroll-wheel modes, RGB, and high-polling options. Consider the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed as a separate, lighter-feature tier, and treat the G502 X LIGHTSPEED as a distinct wireless product rather than a wireless version of the wired model.

The specifications below come from Razer and Logitech product information available in October 2026. They are manufacturer claims, not results from an independent head-to-head test. Hand fit, click feel, wireless latency in your particular setup, long-term durability, and scroll preferences can change which mouse feels best.

First, identify the exact mouse

Before comparing prices or specifications, decide which model names you mean. Razer announced two mice under the Basilisk V4 name on October 8, 2026. Logitech sells a wired G502 X and a separate wireless G502 X LIGHTSPEED. A recommendation that does not state the full model can quietly compare the wrong products.

Family Exact model Connection What the published information establishes
Razer Basilisk V4 Basilisk V4 Pro HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth 6.2, or USB wired 14 customizable controls, advanced tilt wheel, 8,000 Hz polling, Focus Pro 50K sensor, seven-zone RGB
Razer Basilisk V4 Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed Wireless product; Razer presents it as a separate tier 94 g, 12 customizable controls, Focus X 33K sensor, up to 140 hours of battery life
Logitech G502 X G502 X (wired) USB wired 89 g, HERO 25K sensor, dual-mode wheel, adjustable/removable DPI-shift button
Logitech G502 X G502 X LIGHTSPEED LIGHTSPEED wireless 13 customizable controls, updated HERO 44K sensor, wireless operation

Published specifications do not provide matching weight, battery, or price data for every one of these four options. Where a figure is not stated for a model, it is safer to leave it unknown than to infer it from another version.

Quick decision guide

Choose the wired G502 X when battery-free simplicity matters

The wired G502 X is the clearest choice for a desk where a cable is acceptable. Logitech lists it at 89 g, with LIGHTFORCE hybrid optical-mechanical switches, a HERO 25K sensor, and a dual-mode scroll wheel. It needs no battery, wireless receiver, or charging dock. The US Logitech G page displayed $99.99 and in-stock status when accessed on October 13, 2026; the EU page displayed €69.99 and in-stock status. Those are regional storefront snapshots, not permanent prices.

Choose the Basilisk V4 Pro for the most expansive published feature set

The Basilisk V4 Pro is the feature-heavy option on paper. It combines three connection modes, 14 customizable controls, a three-mode HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2, seven-zone Chroma RGB, a Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3, and true 8,000 Hz polling in both wireless and wired modes. Razer states up to 200 hours at 1,000 Hz wireless or up to 275 hours over Bluetooth 6.2.

Choose the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed only after checking its separate specification tier

The Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed is not simply a V4 Pro with wireless features removed. Razer lists 12 customizable controls, a Focus X 33K Optical Sensor Gen-3, a 94 g weight, and up to 140 hours of battery life. Razer’s announcement does not establish a matching V4 Pro-versus-HyperSpeed weight comparison, exact charging configuration, or regional launch price.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose the G502 X LIGHTSPEED if you specifically want Logitech’s wireless version

The G502 X LIGHTSPEED is a separate wireless model. Logitech’s US page lists 13 customizable controls, LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches, an updated HERO 44K sensor, and LIGHTSPEED wireless. Its displayed price was $159.99 when accessed on October 13, 2026. Because price and availability change, verify the exact regional page before buying.

Connections and everyday setup

Basilisk V4 Pro: three ways to connect

The V4 Pro can use HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth 6.2, or wired operation. Bluetooth supports up to three paired devices, which is useful if one mouse moves between a desktop, laptop, and another compatible device. HyperSpeed is the mode Razer associates with its high-performance wireless feature set; the mouse can also operate while connected by cable.

Razer states true 8,000 Hz polling in both wireless and wired modes. A higher polling rate sends cursor-position updates more frequently, but the practical benefit depends on the game, display refresh rate, CPU overhead, and the rest of the wireless setup. The specification alone is not an independent latency measurement.

Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed: do not borrow Pro specifications

Razer describes the HyperSpeed as its own wireless model with a different sensor, control count, weight, and battery claim. The announcement does not authorize attributing the Pro’s 8,000 Hz polling, 50,000 DPI sensor, 14 controls, or three connection modes to the HyperSpeed. Check the exact product page for the features that matter to you.

G502 X wired: the uncomplicated connection

The wired G502 X uses USB. Its cable eliminates wireless charging and receiver placement from the setup, though it introduces cable management and the possibility of drag depending on your desk. Logitech’s cited page does not state a polling-rate figure, so do not treat the Razer V4 Pro’s 8,000 Hz claim as a cross-brand comparison.

G502 X LIGHTSPEED: wireless, but not the same specification sheet

The LIGHTSPEED model uses Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless system and has its own updated HERO 44K sensor specification. The cited page does not provide a battery-runtime figure or weight in the supplied information. Those omissions are model-page limitations, not evidence that the product lacks those features.

Controls and scroll wheels

Why the V4 Pro’s wheel is unusual

Razer lists three operating behaviors for the HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2: 24-step tactile scrolling, 48-step precision tactile scrolling, and free-spin. The wheel also tilts, and the V4 Pro has 14 customizable controls overall. Razer specifically identifies a third side button and an M1 edge button. Players who bind abilities, push-to-talk, browser actions, or productivity shortcuts may value that additional input capacity.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What the wired G502 X offers

Logitech’s G502 X wired page describes a dual-mode wheel that switches between free-spin and ratcheted scrolling. Left and right wheel tilt provide two programmable controls. The DPI-shift button can be adjusted or removed, allowing the thumb area to be configured around your grip and preferred sensitivity controls.

How to evaluate controls without assuming more is better

  • Count the controls you can reach without changing your grip, not just the advertised total.
  • Check whether a side or edge button is easy to press accidentally during fast aim.
  • Decide whether you prefer a notched wheel for weapon or menu selection, free-spin for long documents, or multiple wheel modes.
  • Remember that the G502 X LIGHTSPEED has 13 listed controls, while the cited wired-page control count is not stated; do not assume the two G502 X versions have identical layouts without checking the physical specification.

Sensor, polling, and click claims

Razer’s published V4 Pro numbers

For the Basilisk V4 Pro, Razer specifies up to 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS, and 90 G for the Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3. It also advertises true 8,000 Hz polling in wireless and wired modes and rates the Gen-4 optical switches for 100 million clicks.

These figures describe the limits or ratings Razer publishes. They do not prove that a player will aim better than with a HERO sensor, that every setup will run at 8,000 Hz without extra system load, or that a switch will reach its rated click count in a particular environment.

Logitech’s G502 X sensor naming

The wired G502 X page identifies a HERO 25K sensor. The US G502 X LIGHTSPEED page identifies an updated HERO 44K sensor. Those names are model-specific: the wireless sensor figure should not be assigned to the wired mouse, and the wired figure should not be used as a description of the LIGHTSPEED version.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Neither cited Logitech page supplies a common independent polling or latency test in the information available here. A tournament player who prioritizes measured end-to-end latency should seek testing for the exact mouse, firmware, receiver, and polling configuration rather than relying on a headline sensor number.

Battery, charging, and desk logistics

V4 Pro runtime depends on connection mode

Razer states up to 200 hours for the Basilisk V4 Pro at 1,000 Hz wireless and up to 275 hours over Bluetooth 6.2. “Up to” is a manufacturer estimate under its stated conditions, not a guarantee of that runtime with RGB, maximum polling, or every usage pattern enabled.

V4 HyperSpeed has a separate runtime claim

Razer states up to 140 hours for the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed. Do not combine that number with the V4 Pro’s 200- or 275-hour claims.

The optional Mouse Dock V2 Pro

Razer announced the Mouse Dock V2 Pro alongside the V4 Pro. The newsroom description says it provides magnetic wireless charging and an integrated 8,000 Hz transceiver, and lists both Basilisk V4 Pro and Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed among compatible products. It is an optional accessory, not evidence that either mouse requires a dock. If you do not buy one, plan for the included charging method and cable described on the exact regional product page.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Wired G502 X has no battery decision

The wired G502 X draws power through USB, so there is no battery-runtime calculation or charging dock to manage. That is its main logistical advantage over the wireless choices.

The G502 X LIGHTSPEED is wireless, but the supplied Logitech page does not state its battery runtime. Confirm charging method, runtime, and any compatible charging accessory on the current regional listing before purchase.

Weight and handling: what is actually known

Razer lists the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed at 94 g. Logitech lists the wired G502 X at 89 g. The cited information does not provide a matching weight for the Basilisk V4 Pro or G502 X LIGHTSPEED, so a complete four-way weight ranking cannot be made responsibly.

A five-gram difference between two known models may be noticeable to some players, but weight is only one part of handling. Shell shape, palm contact, grip style, cable resistance, balance, and button placement can matter more than a small numerical difference. Because these mice were not independently handled or measured in this comparison, try to buy from a retailer with a suitable return policy if hand fit is uncertain.

Price and availability

The Logitech figures are dated storefront observations. The wired G502 X page showed $99.99 in the United States and €69.99 in the European Union, both with in-stock status, when accessed on October 13, 2026. The US G502 X LIGHTSPEED page showed $159.99 at that time. Currency, tax, promotions, stock, and regional bundles can change those numbers.

Razer’s October 8, 2026 launch announcement did not establish a V4 Pro or V4 HyperSpeed price or retailer availability. That means a price-value verdict for either Basilisk model would be premature without checking the target market on the day you buy. Compare the exact model, included receiver or cable, warranty, and any dock bundle—not merely the family name.

Which model fits your priorities?

Your priority Most defensible starting point Why What to verify

Wireless Logitech ecosystem G502 X LIGHTSPEED Dedicated LIGHTSPEED model with HERO 44K listing Battery runtime, weight, current price, and stock
Basilisk shape with a less expansive feature tier Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed Separate 12-control, 94 g model with up to 140-hour claim Exact connection, wheel, polling, charging, and regional price details

A practical buying checklist

  1. Write down the full model name. Decide between Basilisk V4 Pro, Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed, G502 X wired, and G502 X LIGHTSPEED before opening a retailer page.
  2. Choose wired or wireless first. Wired removes charging; wireless removes the cable but adds a receiver, battery, and charging routine.
  3. Match the control layout to your games. If you use many binds, inspect the V4 Pro’s third side button, M1 edge button, and 14-control claim. If you want a removable DPI-shift button and wheel tilt, inspect the wired G502 X layout.
  4. Check the exact sensor and polling statement. The V4 Pro, V4 HyperSpeed, wired G502 X, and G502 X LIGHTSPEED use different published sensor descriptions. Do not transfer a figure from one variant to another.
  5. Confirm weight only for the exact model. The known figures are 94 g for V4 HyperSpeed and 89 g for wired G502 X; the supplied pages do not establish the other two weights.
  6. Verify regional price and stock at checkout. The Logitech prices above were temporary US and EU observations from October 13, 2026. Razer V4 pricing was not established by the launch announcement.
  7. Plan for fit and returns. Shape, reach, click force, wheel feel, and balance were not independently tested here. Use a retailer return policy if you cannot try the mouse first.

What this comparison cannot claim

No independent head-to-head benchmark was available for these models. The published material does not establish comparative latency, battery testing under identical settings, measured sensor accuracy, long-term switch survival, shell durability, or a universal comfort winner. Razer’s quoted 8,000 Hz, sensor limits, battery estimates, and 100-million-click rating are product claims; Logitech’s HERO and LIGHTFORCE descriptions are product specifications. Treat them as useful selection data, not laboratory rankings.

Likewise, the absence of a listed value is not proof that a model lacks a feature. It means the cited page or announcement did not establish that value. Check the current manual and regional product page for any specification that determines your purchase.

Bottom-line recommendations by buyer type

For a cable-first competitive or general-use setup

Start with the wired G502 X. Its 89 g listed weight, USB power, HERO 25K sensor, adjustable/removable DPI-shift button, and dual-mode tilt wheel make its trade-off clear: you give up wireless freedom in exchange for no battery management. Whether it is comfortable depends on your hand and grip.

For a feature-focused wireless setup

Start with the Basilisk V4 Pro. Its published 14-control layout, three connection modes, advanced wheel, seven-zone RGB, high sensor specification, and 8,000 Hz polling claim cover more use cases than the other listed specifications. Buy it only after confirming regional price and the physical fit.

For a simpler Basilisk choice

Evaluate the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed on its own specification sheet. Its 94 g weight, 12 controls, Focus X 33K sensor, and up-to-140-hour claim describe a different tier from the V4 Pro. It may be the better match if those published features and the local price align with your needs, but the supplied announcement does not support a broader performance verdict.

For Logitech wireless

Evaluate the G502 X LIGHTSPEED separately from the wired G502 X. Logitech lists 13 controls, LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches, an updated HERO 44K sensor, and LIGHTSPEED wireless, with a US price snapshot of $159.99 on October 13, 2026. Confirm battery, weight, stock, and current price before deciding.
