XREAL One is a plausible alternative for a compact external display, but available sources do not establish a clear winner for desk work: text clarity, fit and screen stability need to be judged with your own devices and eyes.

Which is better for watching movies and playing games?
RayNeo GT Max: wider listed view and more screen presets
RayNeo’s listed 59° field of view is wider than the 50° attributed to XREAL One in the comparison matrix. GT Max also offers 227-, 267- and 307-inch virtual-screen presets. Those numbers describe a simulated display experience; they do not mean you see a physical screen of that size, and they should not be compared directly with XREAL’s 147-inch promotional representation without matching viewing distance and mode.

RayNeo lists Steady, Pinned and Follow native 3DoF modes. In plain terms, these are intended to let a virtual screen stay in place, remain positioned relative to your view, or follow your head movement. The product page describes its native 3DoF as keeping the screen steady as you move your head; that is a manufacturer claim, not a measured comparison against XREAL.

XREAL One: a smaller stated screen claim is not the whole experience
XREAL’s product material promotes a spatial screen and an onboard X1 spatial computing chip. Those features make it a candidate for watching video or playing games from a compatible device, but the available specifications do not establish that it is less enjoyable than RayNeo in practice. Image comfort and perceived immersion depend on fit, how the display sits in your view, and the content and host device.
RayNeo says Dolby Vision on GT Max requires its optional Pocket TV Pro. Do not assume that connecting any phone, computer or console unlocks Dolby Vision.

Which is better for work?
There is no evidence here for a defensible productivity winner. RayNeo lists an office display mode; XREAL lists spatial-screen features and on-glasses settings. Neither set of features proves that text will be equally sharp, that a screen will remain comfortable in your preferred position, or that a multi-monitor workflow will work well.
- Check text at your usual scale. Small interface labels and long reading sessions are a better test than a video image. The headline resolution figures do not establish equal text sharpness.
- Check stability and positioning. Try the screen at the angle and distance you would use for work, including any available Steady, Pinned or Follow mode.
- Check the physical fit. Nose pressure, temple comfort and whether the display stays aligned matter during extended sessions.
- Check the workflow you actually need. The available material does not establish multi-monitor productivity performance.

Check fit and compatibility before buying
Match your IPD and prescription needs
RayNeo offers GT Max in three IPD ranges: S below 64 mm, M from 64 to 67 mm, and L above 67 mm. RayNeo also identifies a professional partner route for prescription lenses. XREAL’s US store lists S/M/L nose pads and a prescription service. Nose-pad sizes and IPD sizing address different fit considerations; neither guarantees that a pair will suit your face. Confirm local prescription-lens availability and the return policy before ordering.
Confirm the host can send video over USB-C
These are host-dependent display glasses, not standalone screens. RayNeo says compatibility depends on the connected device’s video-output capability; the comparison matrix lists USB-C DisplayPort for both models. Verify that your exact phone, laptop, handheld console or adapter outputs compatible video over USB-C DisplayPort. A USB-C connector by itself does not prove that it can send display video. RayNeo’s compatibility note is in its GT vs GT Max specification comparison.

How to interpret brightness and optional accessories
RayNeo describes 1,200 nits as perceived brightness and distinguishes spatial modes; XREAL presents a peak-brightness figure. These are vendor figures with different labels, not matched independent measurements, so they cannot establish which glasses look brighter in the same conditions. RayNeo’s product specifications are available at RayNeo’s comparison page; XREAL’s listing is on its US store page.
