Ray-Ban Meta Audio keeps hands-free calling, listening and Meta AI, but removes the camera, so it cannot take photos or record video. Despite the “Out Now” framing, Ray-Ban’s US pages showed the glasses as available to preorder on October 13, 2026—not generally on sale. The product is real; the claim that it removes “the one thing people hated” is not established by the official information available.
What is Ray-Ban Meta Audio?
Ray-Ban describes Meta Audio as its “first audio-only AI glasses.” Unlike camera-equipped smart glasses, these are designed for listening, hands-free calls and Meta AI without image or video capture. Ray-Ban presents removing the camera as a way to offer up to 12 hours of battery life, but that figure is a manufacturer rating, not an independent test. Ray-Ban’s Burbank RW7005 product page

The “one thing people hated” part of the headline should be read as editorial framing, not a verified finding about consumers. The official product pages explain what the camera-free design does; they do not establish that people broadly disliked the camera.

No. Ray-Ban’s product-family page says image and video capture are not available on Ray-Ban Audio. That is the defining difference from Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 and Gen 2, which Ray-Ban categorizes as camera-plus-audio glasses. Ray-Ban Meta product-family page
