What Pal means by a rotation from AI to crypto
Pal’s claim is a market interpretation, not a measured capital-flow finding. Cointelegraph’s October 6, 2026 report does not cite a statistic tracking money leaving AI stocks and entering crypto. It quotes Pal describing a rotation of liquidity that is “around right now,” while adding that it is “not abundant yet.” The distinction matters: prices moving in opposite directions, or crypto rising while an AI stock falls, do not by themselves establish that investors transferred capital between them.

The report points to a brief period from August 19 to August 25, 2026, when Bitcoin rose about 25% to $80,000 and Nvidia recorded seven consecutive losing sessions, citing TradingView. That is a dated example of co-movement, not evidence that Nvidia investors funded Bitcoin purchases or that the pattern continued afterward.

Pal’s preferred backdrop combines three conditions. In his account, they would support liquidity and risk-taking more broadly; the report does not establish that they have all arrived.

- A weaker US dollar: Pal says a lower dollar would provide a “green light” for further crypto movement. He also cautions that he does not have a full green light on everything.
- A steeper yield curve: He prefers a curve that steepens rather than a setting in which higher borrowing costs constrain liquidity. Cointelegraph reported that the US 10-year Treasury yield climbed to 5.29% in September 2026.
- More bank lending: Pal’s preferred scenario includes banks expanding the money supply through increased lending. The report says lending and liquidity conditions were not yet sufficient for him to call the outlook fully clear.
Cointelegraph also says the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark rate by a quarter-point, but the report does not provide enough detail to establish the meeting date or target range. That rate move should not be read as proof of Pal’s broader capital-flow claim.
Why an AI pause could help, but a crash might not
Pal sees sideways trading in AI stocks as a possible second-best outcome for crypto: if the AI trade pauses without a broader liquidity shock, capital may have room to move into other risk assets. That is different from saying every decline in AI stocks benefits crypto.

He treats an AI crash as a potential sign that liquidity is being withdrawn from the system. In that case, crypto could be hurt alongside other risk assets rather than gain automatically from AI’s losses. Pal summarizes the concern this way: “Things don’t go bust if liquidity is plentiful,” as quoted by Cointelegraph.
Why Pal singles out Ethereum and Solana for AI-agent activity
Pal expects more economic activity from AI agents to accrue to smart-contract platforms such as Ethereum and Solana than to Bitcoin. The distinction in his argument is about what the networks can host: activity involving applications and transactions on smart-contract networks may benefit those platforms, while he expects Bitcoin to miss much of that activity.

Cointelegraph’s report cited two different network snapshots from DefiLlama. It reported around 3.2 million active Solana addresses over the preceding 24 hours, compared with 387,000 for Ethereum, and about $54.4 billion in Ethereum DeFi protocols versus $6.7 billion on Solana. The address count and DeFi value describe different measures; neither demonstrates that AI-agent activity caused a shift in investment capital. They are figures reported in the October 6, 2026 article, not live readings.
The report also quotes Pal saying Solana’s core activity is speculation, with “smaller clip sizes.” That comment describes his characterization of the network’s activity; it does not establish that all Solana use is speculative.

What the report does—and does not—show
- It does show: Pal’s conditional view that pauses in AI trading can leave room for some crypto-bound liquidity, and that a weaker dollar, a steeper yield curve and more bank lending would make the backdrop more favorable.
- It does not show: a direct measurement of capital moving from AI stocks into crypto, proof that the reported Bitcoin/Nvidia co-movement was caused by such a transfer, or current network metrics verified independently of the report.
- It leaves conditional: the broader outcome. An AI pause could be a less damaging setting than a crash, while a liquidity-driven downturn could pressure crypto too.
