Ranchi police have reportedly registered an FIR and were said to be coordinating with the Indian Embassy about her return. The cited reports do not confirm whether she has returned or establish that anyone named in the allegations is guilty.
What Monica and her family allege
Monica Kachhap, a nurse from Chhota Ghaghra in Ranchi, had worked at a private hospital, according to The Indian Express. She told the newspaper that she found an Instagram recruitment page in 2025 and contacted Priyanka Arya, who allegedly offered to arrange nursing work in Dubai. The Express reported that Monica initially sent her original passport to a Delhi address and later asked for it back before travelling.
Her family’s complaint and Monica’s account, as reported by several outlets, say she was taken to an office in Ajman in early May, asked to sign Arabic-language documents, and then sent to homes for domestic or care work rather than nursing work. Monica reportedly said she was told the documents represented a debt. Her family and Monica also allege that her passport was retained. These are reported allegations, not independently established findings.
In her interview with The Indian Express, Monica said: “I just want to come back to India.”

What the reports say happened
- Recruitment: Monica said she contacted Arya through an Instagram recruitment page in 2025 about a nursing job in Dubai, according to The Indian Express.
- Money and travel: Family accounts say money was transferred in April 2026 and more was requested for airfare. Reports disagree on the initial transfer: The Indian Express, Hindustan Times/PTI and The Times of India report ₹15,000, while India Today reports ₹5,000. The accounts also differ on travel dates; the coverage places her arrival in the UAE in early May.
- Ajman documents: Reports place a meeting at an Ajman office around May 6 or 7. Monica reportedly said she was asked to sign Arabic-language paperwork and was told it was a debt. Most reports cite an alleged 12,600-dirham debt; India Today gives 2,600 dirhams. The Indian Express separately reports that Monica said she was asked to repay 14,000 dirhams including interest. These figures are attributed claims, not verified loan terms.
- Work and contact: Monica and her family allege she was sent to homes for domestic or care work and that her passport was kept from her. The New Indian Express and India Today also report allegations concerning her phone and deleted WhatsApp messages.
The Indian Express reported that Monica denied physical or sexual abuse. The available accounts do not establish other forms of abuse beyond the specific allegations they describe.

The Indian Express also quoted Sharma confirming the FIR and coordination with the Indian Embassy. The reports published October 1–2 say the family was seeking government help and that police were in contact with the Indian Embassy about Monica’s return. None of the cited coverage confirms that she returned to India. It also does not establish the exact payment or debt amount, a definitive travel or office-meeting date, or a final outcome of the police investigation.

The company name is rendered differently across reports—AMD Trend Solutions, AMD Trend Solution LLC, and AMD Trend Solutions LLC—so those accounts do not by themselves settle the entity’s precise legal identity. The Indian Express said it contacted Arya but received no reply by publication. Allegations concerning Arya or the company should not be treated as proven without a response or official findings.
