There is no single best pet for every Ragnarok X: Next Generation character. BlueStacks’ 2026 editorial tier list places Eclipse, Phreeoni, Dragon Fly, Toad, and Ghostring in S tier, but the right choice depends on whether you are building for PvE or PvP, your class and stats, and which pets are available on your server. The ranking also predates the September 2026 introduction of SP pets, so it is not a complete ranking of the current roster.
BlueStacks’ 2026 pet tier list
The following is BlueStacks’ published editorial ranking, not an official game ranking or the result of independent comparative testing. Its guide describes pets as allies that can improve stats and contribute combat skills, and emphasizes matching a pet to the player’s job.

- Eclipse: described as having physical-oriented attributes and healing or support skills.
- Phreeoni: described as defensive and durable.
- Dragon Fly: described with physical and PvP-oriented attributes, plus a chance to debuff nearby enemies.
- Toad: described as physical-oriented, with poison attacks.
- Ghostring: described as magic-oriented, with area damage and knockback.
Examples from the A tier include Vocal, whose nearby silence can disrupt opponents; Desert Wolf, which the guide associates with a nearby PvP damage-reduction debuff; and Yoyo, which it describes as able to stun. These are descriptions from BlueStacks’ guide, not independently verified performance claims.

Why the tier list cannot pick your best pet for you
Choose for the mode you play
PvE farming, boss fights, and PvP reward different kinds of utility. A pet that helps sustain damage or clear groups may not offer the control or defensive effects you want against players. GameWith’s Japanese regional guide, updated September 11, 2026, makes separate PvE and PvP recommendations; its examples are useful for comparing roles, but should not be treated as universal server rankings.
Match the pet to your build and job
Compare a pet’s relevant offensive attributes and skill effects with your character’s build rather than choosing by tier alone. A physical damage build, a magic build, and a character that needs survivability may value different bonuses. Both BlueStacks and GameWith stress job or build synergy.
Decide whether the pet is support or a damage investment
GameWith notes that a lower-rarity or lower-level pet can still be useful for support benefits, while developing a pet as a main attacker can require greater rarity, levels, and skill investment. In the system described by that Japanese guide, it recommends focusing investment on one main pet first and using others for support stats. Confirm that approach against your server’s current rules.

Consider acquisition and upgrade cost
Rarity, acquisition route, skill access, and breakthrough requirements affect whether a pet is practical for your account. For example, official notices describe Phreeoni as obtainable from an MVP or through its Pet Cage at the Exchange Center, and Sasquatch as obtainable by capture or Pet Cage. Official material also describes Purple Pet Skill Books as instance rewards. Availability and exact requirements can vary with game version and server.
Examples of mode-specific recommendations
GameWith’s recommendations are regional guidance, not global guarantees. The following examples illustrate why different builds may prefer different pets:

Numerical examples from the Japanese guide
- GameWith lists Yoyo’s PvE recommendation as CRI damage +44% for 10 seconds, with a 20-second cooldown, conditional on the player having at least 70% HP.
- For Mastering, the guide lists one randomly selected effect: physical or magic attack +15%, final damage increase +9%, or final damage reduction +9%, for 10 seconds, with a trigger every 10 seconds.
- For Isis in PvP, the guide lists physical and magic enhancement at 9% multiplied by pet star rank, lasting 7 seconds with a 20-second cooldown; it says rainbow rarity grants both.
These figures describe GameWith’s Japanese guide and are not established here as values for every region or current server build. Verify the live in-game description before making an upgrade decision.
What changed with SP pets in September 2026
Ragnarok X: Next Generation’s official September 3, 2026 notice introduced Fantasy SP, Gold SP, and Purple SP pet rarities. SP pets inherit a specified percentage of certain owner attributes, with exact effects varying by rarity and displayed in-game.
- Each SP pet has one passive Battle Skill. As the official notice puts it: “Each SP Pet has only one Battle Skill.”
- Placing an SP pet in an Active or Reserve slot activates its Battle Skill.
- Different named Battle Skills can work together; when duplicate named skills are present, only the highest level applies.
- Breakthrough can increase inherited attributes and improve Battle and Talent Skill effects.
The same notice listed Fantasy SP Slime and Fantasy SP Ramiris as collaboration gacha rewards. The event was scheduled for September 7–October 7, 2026, with the exchange shop running through October 10. Those dates are time-sensitive, and the notice does not compare the new pets’ combat strength with the older roster. As a result, the BlueStacks tier list should not be read as a current, complete ranking that includes SP collaboration pets.

How to choose a pet for your account
- Set your goal: decide whether you need PvE damage or utility, PvP control or defense, or general support.
- Check your build: compare the pet’s attributes and skill description with your class and the stats your character actually uses.
- Choose its role: decide whether you want a support benefit or a pet you will develop as a main attacker.
- Check the live details: review rarity, skill effects, breakthrough requirements, and acquisition options in your region and current version.
- Invest with a plan: avoid spending heavily based only on a tier label; compare the expected benefit with the resources and upgrades your chosen role needs.
Official notices give examples of how pet acquisition and supporting items work: the version 1120 pet-system notice covers Phreeoni, Sasquatch, and pet skills. These routes and rewards are game items and in-game systems, not physical products.

Use BlueStacks’ list as a quick editorial starting point for the older pets it covers, and use mode- and build-specific guidance to narrow your choices. Do not use either source as a substitute for checking current in-game descriptions: regional balance, event access, and the new SP pet system affect what is available and useful to an individual player.
