In TechSpot’s 2026 test of 52 games, the RTX 5070 Ti averaged 84 fps at native 4K, compared with 81 fps for the RX 9070 XT—a roughly 4% Nvidia lead in that test. Choose based on your own games, ray-tracing preferences, and the current price of the exact cards available where you live.
How close are they in 4K?
TechSpot’s 2026 52-game comparison measured an average of 84 fps for the RTX 5070 Ti and 81 fps for the RX 9070 XT at native 4K, giving Nvidia a roughly 4% lead in that suite. That is a modest difference, not a prediction for every game or PC. Individual results vary with the title, settings, and rendering mode.

The result also depends on which games make up the test. In an earlier 2025 comparison spanning 55 games, TechSpot found the Radeon about 5% slower at 4K on average; the expanded test’s selection of titles affected the result. The two comparisons illustrate why a single average should not decide a purchase. Look for results in the games you actually play, at the resolution and settings you intend to use.

Native 4K without ray tracing
For conventional rasterized rendering, neither card wins every title. TechSpot’s individual game results show selected raster games favoring AMD and others favoring Nvidia. If you mainly play a few demanding titles, compare those games directly rather than assuming the 52-game average describes your experience.

Ray tracing and path tracing
The RTX 5070 Ti leads in several ray-traced and path-traced workloads in TechSpot’s 2026 results. The size of the difference depends on the game and preset, so check tests that use the specific ray-tracing setting you plan to enable. The evidence supports an Nvidia advantage in several such scenarios, not a guarantee that it will lead in every game.
Keep rendering modes separate
Native rendering, upscaling, ray tracing, and frame generation measure different things. A result using an upscaler or generated frames should not be compared as though it were a native-rendering result. When reviewing benchmarks, check the settings and whether the reported frame rate includes generated frames.

What features do the cards offer?
| Feature | Radeon RX 9070 XT | GeForce RTX 5070 Ti |
|---|---|---|
| Upscaling and related features | AMD documents FSR 4 for the RX 9070 series. AMD says it uses an ML-based algorithm; supported games can combine it with existing FSR 3.1 frame generation. | NVIDIA lists DLSS 4 features including Super Resolution, DLAA, Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation, and Multi Frame Generation. |
| Ray tracing and platform features | AMD’s cited material establishes FSR 4 support; it does not provide a directly comparable claim of overall ray-tracing quality. | NVIDIA describes Blackwell, fourth-generation ray-tracing cores, fifth-generation Tensor cores, Reflex, Broadcast, and creator features for the RTX 5070 family. |
Feature availability is not the same as universal game support: implementations vary by title. Check whether the games you play support the particular upscaling, reconstruction, or frame-generation mode you want. NVIDIA’s published feature descriptions establish what it offers, not independent proof that every feature produces a better result.

These are manufacturer specifications, not a perfectly like-for-like power test. TechSpot reported that the RX 9070 XT typically consumed about 20% more power than the RTX 5070 Ti in its 2026 testing; that is a result from its test setup, not a universal figure. NVIDIA notes that add-in-card specifications can vary by manufacturer. Check the exact card’s dimensions, cooling, power connector, and PSU recommendation before buying.

Which one should you buy?
Choose the RX 9070 XT if
- It costs meaningfully less than the RTX 5070 Ti in your market.
- Your preferred games perform well on Radeon in the settings you use.
- You want AMD’s FSR 4 support in games that implement it.
Choose the RTX 5070 Ti if
- Prices are close and you value its results in the ray-traced games you play.
- You want access to DLSS 4 features in supported titles.
- NVIDIA’s listed creator or streaming features fit your software and workflow.
AMD announced a US suggested etail price of $599 for the RX 9070 XT on February 28, 2025. That is historical launch pricing, not a current quote. Current street prices and stock depend on location and retailer, so compare live listings for the exact models in your region rather than treating the launch price—or an old review price—as today’s value.
Quick Recap
What to check before buying
- Compare your games. Find results for the titles you play at 4K, and distinguish native raster performance from ray tracing, upscaling, and frame generation.
- Compare local prices and availability. Check the exact partner models in your country; the better-value card can change as prices and stock change.
- Confirm fit and power requirements. Check the chosen card’s published dimensions, power connector, cooling design, and PSU guidance against your case and system.
- Review purchase terms. Check the retailer’s return policy and the manufacturer or seller warranty for the particular model.
