QQQM charges a 0.15% total expense ratio, including a 0.15% management fee, according to Invesco data dated March 31, 2026. That is about $15 a year for every $10,000 invested, before market movement and compounding. The same data lists a 0.56% 30-day SEC yield. QQQM is designed to track the Nasdaq-100 Index before fees and expenses, but the official materials reviewed do not publish a current, QQQM-specific annualized tracking-error figure.
What QQQM is designed to do
QQQM is the Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF. Its stated objective is to track the investment results of the Nasdaq-100 Index before fees and expenses. The index contains 100 of the largest domestic and international nonfinancial companies listed on Nasdaq. QQQM normally invests at least 90% of total assets in securities in that index.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
The fund and index are rebalanced quarterly and reconstituted annually. Those rules mean QQQM is a concentrated large-cap growth portfolio rather than a broad-market fund. Its result depends heavily on the performance, weighting and valuation of the Nasdaq-listed nonfinancial companies that qualify for the index.
Because the objective is index tracking, the relevant questions are not only whether the fund rose or fell. Investors should also examine how much the fund costs, how closely its returns follow the index, how distributions are measured and how easily shares can be traded.

QQQM expense ratio: 0.15%
What the percentage includes
Invesco’s Q1 2026 product data, with figures as of March 31, 2026, reports a 0.15% management fee and a 0.15% total expense ratio for QQQM. The expense ratio is the annual percentage of fund assets used to operate the ETF. It is expressed as a percentage of assets, not as a one-time charge on the amount you deposit.
| QQQM figure | Reported value | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Management fee | 0.15% | Invesco Q1 2026 product data, as of March 31, 2026 |
| Total expense ratio | 0.15% | Invesco Q1 2026 product data, as of March 31, 2026 |
| Approximate annual expense on $10,000 | $15 | Simple one-year illustration at a constant $10,000 balance; excludes market movement, compounding and asset changes |
How the fee affects your account
You generally will not receive a separate bill for the expense ratio. Operating expenses are reflected in the fund’s net asset value and reported returns. A hypothetical $10,000 balance held for a full year at an unchanged value would therefore absorb approximately $15 in expenses at a 0.15% ratio. In real life, the dollar amount changes as the balance changes, and the effect compounds because money spent on expenses is no longer invested.
The percentage is annualized, while the fund accrues expenses over time. If you hold QQQM for only part of a year, the economic cost is roughly proportional to the time invested, subject to the balance and the fund’s actual accounting. A rising balance produces a larger dollar expense even though the percentage remains 0.15%.

Why the ratio matters but does not determine the result
A lower expense ratio leaves more of an index return with shareholders, all else equal. It does not guarantee a higher return in every period. Trading costs, portfolio implementation, taxes, cash balances, securities lending and differences between the fund and its benchmark can also affect results. The expense ratio should therefore be read alongside tracking difference, liquidity and the exact index methodology.
Tracking error: what it measures
The statistical definition
Tracking error measures the volatility of a fund’s return gap relative to its index. Invesco defines it as the annualised standard deviation of the difference in monthly returns between a fund and its index. In practical terms, an analyst calculates the fund’s return minus the index return for each month, then measures how widely those monthly differences vary and annualizes that dispersion.
This is different from tracking difference. Tracking difference is the cumulative or period return gap between the fund and index. A fund can have a small average gap over a period but still have meaningful tracking error if the monthly gaps swing above and below that average. Conversely, a consistent shortfall caused largely by fees can produce a modest tracking-error statistic even though the cumulative difference is noticeable.

Why a fund’s returns can diverge from its index
- Fees and operating expenses: the index has no fund expense ratio, while QQQM’s net return reflects its 0.15% total expense ratio.
- Cash management: a fund may hold small cash positions for creations, redemptions or operations instead of being fully invested in securities at every moment.
- Holdings and portfolio size: sampling, corporate actions, rebalance timing and the practical size of positions can create differences from the theoretical index portfolio.
- Regulatory constraints: diversification, tax, concentration or other rules can limit exactly how the portfolio is implemented.
- Liquidity and trading conditions: bid-ask spreads, market impact and the timing of trades can alter realized returns, especially around index changes.
Why there is no current QQQM percentage to quote here
The official QQQM materials reviewed do not publish a current fund-specific annualized tracking-error number. An Invesco Markets III report does contain a numeric table, but that table applies to the Invesco EQQQ NASDAQ-100 UCITS ETF Dist, not QQQM. Using that figure for QQQM would misidentify one fund’s statistic as another fund’s result.
When a current QQQM tracking-error figure becomes available, check the calculation period, return frequency, benchmark version and whether the number is annualized. A one-year figure based on monthly returns is not directly interchangeable with a three-year figure based on daily returns. Also distinguish a reported tracking error from a tracking-difference chart; they answer different questions.
QQQM dividend yield and distributions
The current standardized figure
Invesco’s Q1 2026 QQQM data reports a 0.56% 30-day SEC yield, with the figure dated March 31, 2026. The same product data reports a 0.56% 30-day SEC unsubsidized yield. The 30-day SEC yield is a standardized calculation intended to make bond and equity-fund income figures easier to compare over a recent 30-day period; it is not a promised annual payout.

Yield changes when portfolio income, distributions, share price or the calculation period changes. A quoted percentage without a date and method can therefore be misleading. Always identify whether a source is showing 30-day SEC yield, a trailing distribution yield or another calculation, and note the ex-dividend date and period covered when comparing figures.
Why the payment is not guaranteed
QQQM owns common stocks, and common-stock dividends are discretionary. Invesco states: “Common stocks do not assure dividend payments and the amount of a dividend, if any, may vary over time.” A 0.56% SEC yield should be treated as a current standardized income indication, not an interest rate or contractual return.
The cash amount you receive depends on the fund’s declared distribution and the number of shares you own. The share price typically adjusts around the ex-dividend date, so a distribution is not free additional return; total return combines changes in the share price and any distributions, after expenses.
Best Value
Yield is only one part of the income picture
QQQM is built to follow a large-cap growth index, not to maximize cash income. Comparing it with another ETF solely by yield can obscure differences in sector concentration, index rules, fees, tax treatment and the sustainability of the underlying companies’ dividends. A higher displayed yield may result from a different period, a falling share price or a distribution that is not representative of future payments.

Readers often ask whether QQQM is cheaper than QQQ. The QQQM data above establishes QQQM’s 0.15% total expense ratio, but the materials used for this article do not provide a current QQQ expense ratio, fee waiver, tracking-error statistic or matching yield calculation. It would therefore be inaccurate to state a current numerical price advantage for QQQM without dated QQQ data.
| Comparison point | QQQM information established here | What a QQQ comparison requires |
|---|---|---|
| Fund objective | Tracks the Nasdaq-100 before fees and expenses | Confirm QQQ’s stated benchmark objective and benchmark version |
| Total expense ratio | 0.15%, as of March 31, 2026 | Use QQQ’s current dated total expense ratio and any waiver |
| Management fee | 0.15%, as of March 31, 2026 | Use QQQ’s current management-fee disclosure |
| Tracking error | Current QQQM-specific annualized number not stated in the reviewed official materials | Compare figures calculated over the same period and method |
| Yield | 0.56% 30-day SEC yield, as of March 31, 2026 | Compare the same yield definition and date, not unlike measures |
| Trading characteristics | Not stated in the cited QQQM product data | Check assets, volume, bid-ask spreads and execution conditions |
| Index mechanics | Nasdaq-100; quarterly rebalances and annual reconstitution | Confirm that QQQ follows the same index methodology and implementation |
If both funds track the same index, a fee comparison is useful, but it is not sufficient. A fund with a lower stated expense ratio can still deliver a different realized result if its trading costs, portfolio construction or securities-lending income differ. Compare net returns and tracking behavior over the same dated period rather than relying on the headline fee alone.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsA practical checklist for evaluating QQQM
- Record the date and definitions. Write down the expense-ratio date, yield method and period, benchmark name and any tracking statistic’s calculation window.
- Separate cost from performance. Treat the 0.15% ratio as an operating-cost input, then inspect the fund’s net return against the Nasdaq-100 for an identical period.
- Check tracking difference. Compare cumulative fund and index returns after making sure both use compatible price, total-return and distribution conventions.
- Check tracking-error methodology. If a percentage is quoted, verify whether it uses monthly or daily observations, the annualization method and the length of the sample.
- Read the distribution record. Look at declared amounts, ex-dividend dates and the calculation used for the displayed yield. Do not treat one yield observation as a guarantee.
- Assess concentration. Review the Nasdaq-100’s large-company and nonfinancial focus, along with current sector and issuer weights, before deciding whether the risk fits your allocation.
- Consider trading conditions and taxes. Bid-ask spreads, order size, account type and local tax rules can matter more than a small fee difference for a particular investor.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing management fee and total expense ratio: they are both 0.15% in the cited QQQM data, but the total ratio is the figure that captures the fund’s reported operating expenses.
- Calling tracking difference tracking error: one is a return gap over a period; the other is the volatility of monthly gaps.
- Borrowing another ETF’s tracking statistic: a number for a similarly named or regionally domiciled fund is not a QQQM statistic.
- Presenting SEC yield as a promised dividend: the 0.56% figure is standardized and dated, while common-stock distributions can change or be omitted.
- Comparing unlike yields: a 30-day SEC yield and a trailing twelve-month distribution yield can differ even when calculated correctly.
- Assuming a low fee eliminates all deviation: implementation, liquidity, cash and index changes still influence the fund’s realized return.
- Ignoring concentration risk: following 100 large nonfinancial Nasdaq companies is not the same as owning the entire U.S. equity market.
Bottom line
As of March 31, 2026, QQQM’s reported total expense ratio and management fee are both 0.15%, and its 30-day SEC yield is 0.56%. The fee is incorporated into fund returns rather than normally billed separately, while the yield can change and is not guaranteed. Tracking error describes the volatility of the fund-index return gap, but a current QQQM-specific annualized figure is not stated in the official materials reviewed. To decide whether QQQM suits you or is preferable to another Nasdaq-100 ETF, compare dated fees, same-method tracking results, liquidity, index rules, concentration and distribution measures together.
