QCon London 2027 will run April 13–15 at the QEII Centre, with a separate certification workshop scheduled for April 16. Its 15 editorial tracks cover production AI alongside architecture, distributed systems, security, data, performance, and engineering leadership—giving senior practitioners a program for examining technical choices through the lens of real workloads and organizational constraints.

What QCon London 2027 has announced

InfoQ reported on October 6, 2026, that the conference will bring more than 75 practitioner speakers to London to share production systems, trade-offs, and lessons shaped by real workloads and organizational limits. That is a program figure reported by InfoQ, not an independently audited speaker count. The conference is scheduled for April 13–15, followed by a certification workshop on April 16. The organizer describes QCon as an event for senior software engineers, software architects, and team leaders. Its practical appeal is the opportunity to compare how teams approached a problem—not to treat any one conference talk or track as proof that a practice will work in every environment.

All 15 editorial tracks

QCon’s current event homepage lists these editorial tracks:

  1. Architectures You’ve Always Wondered About
  2. Connecting Systems: APIs, Protocols, Observability
  3. Architecting for Resilience, Risk and Proper Governance
  4. Eval Platforms & Guardrails for Agentic AI Systems
  5. The Tech of FinTech
  6. Debugging Distributed Systems
  7. Staff+ Engineering Skills
  8. Using AI for Engineering
  9. Modern Data Architectures and Platforms
  10. Architecture in the Age of AI
  11. Managing Teams in an AI-Driven World
  12. Designing the SDLC for the Next Era of Software Engineering
  13. Engineering for High Performance
  14. Protecting Systems from Humans and Agents
  15. Modern Languages & Frameworks

The spread makes the program broader than an AI conference. Alongside the AI-focused strands, the published list includes APIs and observability, resilience and governance, financial technology, data platforms, distributed debugging, performance, security, languages, and technical leadership. What the production-AI tracks focus on

The announcement frames agentic AI as an operational problem rather than a prototype demonstration. It describes questions such as how to define acceptable behavior, test outputs that can change, enforce boundaries, and respond when systems behave unpredictably. The related tracks focus on evaluation platforms, feedback loops, safety mechanisms, security, and integrating AI into existing architectures and engineering workflows. These are the event’s stated areas of inquiry, not evidence that any particular control is effective in every deployment. InfoQ’s announcement

Other AI-related titles shift attention from the systems themselves to the teams and processes around them: using AI for engineering, adapting the software development lifecycle, and managing teams in an AI-driven environment. For practitioners evaluating adoption, that combination points to questions about both technical integration and the organizational changes required to support it.

How the tracks are organized

QCon says each track represents five curated talks, and most tracks also include an unconference session. The organizer says vendor-sponsored tracks are separate from the 15 editorial tracks and labeled as sponsored. These are QCon’s descriptions of its program structure and sponsorship distinction. QCon London FAQ

QCon also describes its tracks as positioned along an adoption curve. The published information does not establish an adoption stage for each individual track, so attendees should use the session descriptions and speakers’ case details rather than assume a track title signals a particular maturity level.

How to decide which tracks matter to your systems

For a senior technical audience, track choice is most useful when it starts with a live decision or constraint at home, rather than with the most fashionable topic. Consider:

  • System concern: Is your immediate challenge AI, architecture, distributed systems, data, security, performance, or team design?
  • Adoption stage: Are you evaluating an approach, integrating it into an existing platform, or operating it at scale?
  • Trade-off type: Do you need to understand operational behavior, organizational effects, or the interaction between both?
  • Transferability: What differs between the speaker’s workload and yours—such as reliability needs, risk tolerance, governance, or team structure?

InfoQ says the program is intended to explore why an approach worked, what compromises it required, and whether the reasoning transfers to another team’s systems. That is a useful way to assess a session: look for the constraints and costs behind a case study, not just its headline outcome. InfoQ’s announcement
